Chapter 310 Kieran Knelt

Kieran hadn't clocked James yet. He scoped out the room, spotting only four people. He immediately dismissed Leopold and Eirian, then glanced at Dorian and quickly brushed him off too. Dorian was just a wimp who'd probably wet his pants if Kieran even looked at him funny.

So, his eyes landed on James.

He was momentarily thrown. James looked kinda familiar—his build, his face shape—it was like he'd seen him somewhere before, but he couldn't place it.

Yeah, James still had those noticeable scars. His old face was kinda there, but folks who knew him could tell it was him, while strangers would be clueless.

James noticed Kieran had dropped a lot of weight and looked pretty down in the dumps. Clearly, life hadn't been treating him well lately.

He remembered at Jennifer's class reunion, after he’d whooped Kieran, he’d warned him that bad luck was coming his way and to watch out. Guess Kieran didn't take that seriously.

Behind Kieran, nearly twenty dudes filed in, packing the already cramped hall. Each one looked tough as nails, covered in tats, and super intimidating.

This scene was even scarier than before. Leopold's family was shaking in their boots, their scalps tingling.

"Is this the ugly freak who beat all of you up?" Kieran asked, shooting a menacing glare at Elijah after sizing up the situation.

Elijah, totally cowed in front of Kieran, shrank back and quickly said, "Kieran, don't be fooled by his looks. He's a beast in a fight. Even all of us together couldn't take him."

"Trash is trash. No matter how good he is, can he take on all of us?" Kieran smacked Elijah on the head.

Elijah, scared stiff of Kieran, didn't dare show any resentment. Instead, he grinned and said Kieran was right to hit him.

The nearly twenty guys there all had weapons, looking super menacing, especially Kieran, who had a knife that looked wicked sharp. He casually strolled over to James and the others, plopped down in front of James, crossed his legs, and arrogantly stared at James, saying, "James, you got some nerve messing with my crew. What are you gonna do about it?"

He looked at James's face, thinking it was really ugly.

James also looked at him curiously, wondering if he should just spill the beans about who he was.

"What do you wanna do?" James asked.

Kieran's lips twisted into a nasty grin. "I'm not unreasonable. I'll give you two choices. First, you cough up a million bucks for each of my guys you beat up, four million in total, and we're square. Second, if you can't come up with the four million, I'll kill you!"

As he said the last part, his face turned cruel and sinister, his tone icy cold. James stayed cool, but Leopold's family was about to lose it.

"I think there's a third option," James said with a smirk.

"What's the third option?" Kieran frowned, starting to get ticked off by James's defiant attitude.

James flashed a grin, showing off his pearly whites. "How about this: you all get on your knees, kowtow, and swear you'll never mess with me again, and maybe I'll let you walk outta here."

The room went dead silent.

Leopold and Eirian's eyes nearly popped out of their heads. They couldn't believe James had the guts to say that!

Dorian wasn't just scared; he was petrified, shaking in his boots.

'We're done for. James is gonna get us all killed!' Dorian thought, cursing himself for not bailing earlier. 'Why didn't I run when I had the chance? Now it's too late!'

Kieran's crew was just as shocked. They'd been in the game for a while and had never seen anyone this cocky. Was this guy nuts? Did he think they were a bunch of softies?

Kieran frowned, feeling a weird sense of déjà vu looking at James's confident smile. He was sure he'd seen him somewhere before.

Then it hit him, and his eyes went wide.

"It's you!" he stammered, staring at James in horror.

Everyone was floored by his reaction.

James smirked and asked, "So, you remember me now?"

Hearing James's words, Kieran's scalp prickled, and his face went ghostly pale. 'It's that psycho who beat me up twice before!'

The memory of those beatings made him shiver. His legs felt like jelly, and he was on the verge of tears.

He'd come all this way, only to run into this guy again.

He still remembered James's insane strength. Even if all twenty of his guys jumped in, they wouldn't stand a chance. And if they lost, Kieran knew his fate would be brutal.

Everyone else was stunned by Kieran's reaction.

Elijah sensed something was off and cautiously asked, "Kieran, do you know this guy?"

Kieran's mouth quivered. He wanted to speak, but his mind was blank, and no words came out.

He was genuinely terrified. In his life, he hadn't feared many people, but James was the exception—the one who scared him the most!

"Boss, it's you." Kieran swallowed hard, snapped back to reality, and quickly forced a smile. He didn't dare cross his legs anymore and lowered his posture, nervously saying to James, "Long time no see. You've gotten even more handsome."

Leopold and Eirian, who had been on the brink of despair, were dumbfounded by Kieran's reaction, unable to wrap their heads around what was happening.

Dorian's eyes widened in disbelief.

James said with a fake smile, "Kieran, you're pretty cocky. Looks like my last two beatdowns didn't teach you a lesson, huh? You wanna shake me down for four million bucks and even threaten to kill me."

Hearing James's words, Kieran trembled even more and quickly said, "It's a misunderstanding, a big misunderstanding! I didn't recognize you earlier. If I had, I wouldn't have dared! I've always admired you! I have mad respect for you."

James cut him off, "Kneel down now."

Hearing this, Kieran immediately dropped to his knees with a thud and started slapping himself, "I was wrong; please forgive me. I was wrong; please forgive me..."
