Chapter 322 James Appears

Kieran was seriously kicking himself, like, big time!

He'd busted his butt to get where he was; nothing came easy.

He thought tonight was gonna be his big break, that he could finally ride the Perry family's coattails. When he heard Uriah knew him, he was stoked, like, really stoked. However, he never saw it coming that the gift from James would screw him over instead of helping!

It finally clicked why James always had that weird smirk when he talked about the gift. He wasn't a friend of the Perry family at all—he was their enemy!

If he'd known what that so-called awesome gift was, he wouldn't have given it to Uriah even if his life depended on it. This was straight-up suicide.

"Mr. Perry! It's not my fault! I had no clue what was in the gift! I'm innocent!" Kieran wailed, begging for mercy, tossing all his pride out the window to save his skin.

Uriah gritted his teeth and kicked Kieran to the ground, fuming, "Innocent, my ass! You got a death wish, messing with me like this? I'll make you wish you were dead!"

Uriah was totally losing it, grabbing Kieran and gearing up to beat the crap out of him.

Kieran was pale and shaking like a leaf, too scared to even think about fighting back. He just curled up and took Uriah's rage.

He quickly realized Uriah was freakishly strong! Each punch of his felt like a blow of a sledgehammer, and he was down in no time.

After blowing off some steam, Uriah stepped on Kieran's chest and glared at him coldly. "Spill it, who gave you the gift?"

Kieran was scared out of his mind, his brain scrambled, and he blurted out, "It was my boss, Mr. Perry. I swear, it has nothing to do with me."

He was begging like crazy, but Uriah got even more pissed. He pinned Kieran down and pressed a fruit knife against his thumb. "Your boss? So, you were out to screw with the Perry family on purpose!"

"No, it was my boss. I don't know anything. Mr. Perry, please, I'm really innocent. I'll take you to him. He set me up, too." Kieran cried and cursed James as he spoke.

Seeing this, Uriah hesitated. Maybe Kieran really didn't know?

"Tell me his name. No matter where he is, I'll drag him back!" Uriah's voice was so cold it could freeze the air around them.

Kieran's mind was such a mess he couldn't remember James's name, and he cried out in panic.

Uriah lost his patience and was about to act when suddenly, a voice came from above, "Kieran, after all I've done for you, you can't even remember my name."

Everyone was startled and looked up to see a guy in a suit sitting on a beam, munching on an apple and grinning at them.

And who else could it be but James?

Uriah's eyes went wide, and he stopped breathing!

He clocked the guy right away—it was James!

Asher, who couldn't see too well, hadn't figured it out yet. He bellowed, "Who the hell are you? Think you can mess with the Perry family?"

James just smirked, "What's up, Asher? Enjoying the gift I sent you tonight? You got to have Charlotte for free; you should be thanking me."

Asher was so pissed he was shaking, and he screamed at his guys to grab James.

Uriah narrowed his eyes, glaring daggers at James, and growled, "James, is that you?"

"Yep, it's me." James grinned wide, "Surprised? Didn't see that coming, did ya?"

Even though James was smiling, there was this icy vibe about him. Everyone there felt the tension crank up a notch.

Seeing James, Uriah burned with anger.

"Well, well, well!" Uriah laughed, but it was more like a snarl. "I should've known only a scumbag like you would pull something like this!"

"What? He's James?" Asher was stunned, then his face went beet red with fury, his whole body shaking, breathing all over the place.

He hated James with a burning passion because of what happened to Jared and wanted nothing more than to make James suffer.

Now, with this new mess, his anger was off the charts. With his high blood pressure and mild heart condition, he was struggling to breathe. He gasped for air, his face going pale. "James! You crippled Jared, I-I will..."

As he spoke, his face twisted in pain. Clutching his chest, gasping for breath, he started to sway. Uriah freaked out and quickly grabbed him. "Dad, you okay?"

Asher panted heavily, and his guys rushed to give him some meds, which helped him calm down a bit.

He gripped Uriah's hand tight, his eyes blazing with rage. "Uriah, you can't let James get away! I want him to torture him to dead!"

Uriah nodded hard, his eyes bloodshot, and said through clenched teeth, "Don't worry. I'll make sure James dies a painful death!"

Hearing this, Kieran, lying on the ground, was shaking to his core.

Uriah was terrifying now, his face twisted, looking more like a beast than a man, filled with rage and hatred.

He clenched his fists and glared at James. "James, today I'm gonna show you what real cruelty looks like!"

Then, he barked an order, and his men immediately locked all the doors and windows, trapping James inside.

James laughed and then jumped down from the  beam, landing as light as a feather.

"Uriah, you know, I could've come for you a long time ago, but I didn't. I've been waiting for the perfect moment to pay you back tenfold, a hundredfold. And I found it." James said as he strolled over. "You actually owe me proper thanks for my help to find this video for you. Or else, you would still be ignorant of what your wife did to you."
