Chapter 638 Arriving at the Camp
But thanks to Bronte, James scored a ton of intel. As they moved, Bronte spilled everything she knew to James and Sidney.
Bronte had just hit level three, which was pretty solid for her age. She'd been dragged into the Godslayer Organization against her will. According to her, King had tagged all the core members with some kind of tracking mark—basically, a way to keep tabs on them. If anyone with the mark spilled the org's secrets, they'd be in for a world of hurt.
But since Bronte was fresh off her promotion to level three, she hadn't gotten the mark yet. If she had, she wouldn't have dared to cross the Godslayer Organization, not even if her life depended on it.
The Godslayer Organization had four main temples—east, south, west, and north—forming a protective ring around their mountain headquarters. Each temple was protected by a top expert above the fourth level. At the center, King ruled alongside Ruthless, who rarely left unless it was for a high-stakes mission mission.
Hearing this, James frowned slightly. He knew Bronte's strength was only at the third level, not even comparable to the four temple leaders. Why would King value her so much? Unless Bronte had some other special use for King.
Thinking of this, James felt an even stronger urge to rescue Bronte.
"Bronte, how does King erase people's memories? Ruthless is my sister, and she doesn't even recognize me now."
Bronte could only shake her head, indicating she didn't know.
After walking for about half an hour, Sidney, who was leading the way, suddenly . “We're here. This is their camp.”
Soon, they found traces of people.
"Come out. It's James," James said firmly. A shadow stepped out from behind a tree. "James. We've been waiting here for days."
After saying this, the person jumped down from the tree, greeted James and his team with a fist salute, and led them into the canyon.
The surveillance inside the canyon was even more intense. James was impressed by how quickly these elite individuals had fortified the area, making it difficult for the Godslayer Organization to spy on them.
Moreover, instead of setting up tents, they had carved out hidden caves in the cliff walls to stay in, making it hard to be discovered.
After leading James and his team to a cave, the person left. Soon, the sound of hurried footsteps approached. Sensing the presence of these people, James raised an eyebrow, as there were more than ten of them, all with auras similar to or stronger than Sidney's.
The elderly leader, upon seeing James, happily stepped forward and greeted him with a fist salute, "Mr. Smith, you finally arrived!"
James noticed the group wasn't just local talent—it had international heavyweights too. The NSA really came prepared this time. With that kind of firepower, even the Godslayer Organization would struggle to hold their ground. That realization gave James a boost of confidence.
Once everyone was seated, James began, "Everyone, I'm James. I've called you here under the authority of the National Security Agency. You all know why we're here, so let's cut to the chase. If anyone's got questions or concerns, now's the time to speak up."
As soon as James finished, an older woman stood up. "Mr. Smith, I respect your skills, and I trust the NSA's reputation. But here's my concern—if this mission goes south and the Godslayer Organization comes after us, how do we protect ourselves without any fifth-stage experts? Will Sunlandia have our backs if we fail?"
As soon as the elderly woman finished speaking, the experts from smaller countries started murmuring among themselves, their eyes fixed on James. He gave a faint smile, seeing this as the perfect chance to win them over. Aligning with Sunlandia for protection would mean pledging loyalty to them down the line.
James shot Sidney a glance, and Sidney stepped up, announcing, "I'm Sidney, the lead on this operation. To address the elder's concern—I can speak for the NSA and guarantee this: if we fail, Sunlandia will go all out to protect your countries' interests. And if we take down the Godslayer Organization, the NSA won't forget your role in this. You'll be taken care of!”
Hearing this, everyone nodded in satisfaction. The elderly woman smiled and said, "Sunlandia indeed has the demeanor of a great nation, worthy of my respect. The fifteen experts from our country will follow Mr. Smith's arrangements!"
James nodded and looked at the representatives from other countries. Once everyone expressed their willingness to follow orders, James finally felt relieved. These people were not like the National Security Agency members; if they didn't cooperate, it would be a big problem.
"Since we're all on the same page, let's talk strategy. The Godslayer Organization's got four main temples: east, south, west, and north…"
They spent the whole afternoon in the cave hammering out the attack plan. When night rolled around, James grabbed a bite to eat and then hit the training cave to get ready.
The valley was dead silent, not a soul in sight, making it hard to believe hundreds were lying low out there.
As James trained, he went over the plan they'd nailed down that afternoon. The NSA would take on the strongest western temple solo, while the other three temples were divvied up among the smaller countries. Each temple would be hit by the top forces from three to four countries, making it doable even if a temple had five level-four experts.
Bronte's intel said the number of level-four experts in each temple was capped, usually no more than four, with most of the heavy hitters at level three.
In a cave in the valley, Bronte, Sidney's assistant, was still hanging around. Sitting by a stone table, Sidney seemed a little antsy with just the two of them there.
"Um, Bronte, why don't you go back to your place for now?"
Bronte smiled and said, "I'm your assistant! The battle is tomorrow. Don't you want to go over James' plan, see if there's anything to add?"
Sidney rolled his eyes. "I'm the lead on this op, but James calls the shots. I trust him. This plan's rock-solid compared to our solo gigs. Even if the Godslayer Organization's ready, it won't make a difference!"
Bronte nodded, a faint glint flickering in her eyes.
