Chapter 58 Bloody Divorce Agreement

John was also stunned. He had only intended to embarrass James a bit, to let Jennifer down, never expecting that James would actually stab himself. It must have been so painful.

Taking advantage of John's moment of shock, James suddenly ran with his whole strength like a cheetah towards John.

Unfortunately, his thigh was cut, which somewhat affected his speed. He couldn't stop John in time like he was hoping to.

John reacted and shouted, "Even if I die, I'll drag someone down with me!"

Then he raised the dagger and was about to fiercely stab it towards Jennifer's chest. Jennifer was so shocked that she couldn't react in time.

Hastily, James clenched his teeth, grabbed the blade of the knife bare-handed from John, and violently pulled him away from Jennifer!

James was truly angry. It had been a long time since he had been this furious. Enduring the intense pain in his thigh and hand, he clenched his fist and unleashed a series of punches.

Each punch landed on John's face, one after another. Initially, John resisted and screamed, but eventually, he couldn't even scream anymore. His handsome face had been turned into a mess.

"No one dares hurt my wife!" James exclaimed fiercely.

James's voice was low, filled with anger. Blood flowed from his thigh and palms, soaking his clothes, a truly shocking sight.

Jennifer was dumbfounded behind him. The current James seemed just like a stranger, completely different from his usual weak and useless self. He exuded masculinity, violence, and a sense of security.

Especially when she heard those three almost crazy sentences from James, she trembled all over, feeling a kind of unprecedented emotion, warm and overwhelming.

Finally, John was knocked unconscious by James. Due to excessive blood loss and physical exertion, James let go of John, his body swaying and feeling cold due to lack of oxygen flowing into his brain.

He sat down with a thud, and glanced back at Jennifer. His eyes were filled with sweat, making his vision blurry. He could only see Jennifer's silhouette, unable to make out her expression clearly.

Gasping for breath, he said, "Call the police, let them handle this."

Then, James began to bandage himself.

James’s left leg was soaked in blood. Although he had deliberately avoided bones and arteries with that knife strike, the wound was deeper due to the struggle with John, which worsened the bleeding.

The injury wasn't serious, but it was painful!

His left palm also had a deep cut from the dagger, blood flowing rapidly, making him grimace in pain.

Ah, the consequence of not lifting the seal!

If the seal had been completely lifted, he wouldn't have been injured, and dealing with John would have been a piece of cake.

Fortunately, Jennifer was unharmed, just frightened. Otherwise, he would have felt guilty.

As he was about to take off his clothes to bandage himself, Jennifer approached him. Biting her lip, she sat down beside James and said, "Let me help you with the bandage."

James was taken aback. With her so close, he finally saw Jennifer's expression. Her eyes were red from crying, tears still lingering, her unnatural expression revealing her complex emotions.

Honestly, after being married to James for so long, this was the first time she had seen him like this. For a moment, she was stunned.

Jennifer looked at the wound on James's thigh, gritting her teeth. She said, "It must hurt."

"It's not a big deal," James answered as he smiled. At that moment, seeing the concern and tears on Jennifer's face, he felt that everything that happened tonight was worth it.

Seeing his silly smile, Jennifer's eyes reddened even more. She softly cursed him as a fool.

As a doctor, she knew how painful James's wound was. If it were her, she would have cried long ago and wouldn't have been as composed as James, pretending as if nothing was wrong.

If she hadn't looked up and seen James's twitching mouth and suppressed gasps, she would have suspected that James was naturally insensitive to pain.

She was about to take off her coat to bandage James when he stopped her. He suggested, "Use my clothes instead."

Then James leaned against a tree, took off his shirt, tore it into long strips, and handed them to Jennifer, saying, " Don’t take off your coat. You might catch a cold."

Jennifer bit her lip tightly, wanting to say something but refraining. She felt her heart tingling.

"Your knife is still in there..." she said.

"Oh, right." James realized, grabbed the handle with his right hand, and pulled it out with a 'pop' sound. James shuddered in pain, his teeth chattering, but he endured it while smiling. He gently said to her, "Thank you."

Jennifer looked up at him, only to find that he had closed his eyes, looking exhausted and in pain, his face pale from the blood loss.

She took a deep breath, wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, and quickly started to bandage James.

She felt a bit awkward because the wound was so close to his crotch, only a few inches away. So, while bandaging James, she inevitably touched his sensitive area, making her feel extremely embarrassed.

She hesitated because, despite being married to James for five years, they still hadn’t had sex. Their most intimate moment was when James had passionately pressed her body down.

Now, touching James's private parts made her extremely shy.

But just then, James shivered weakly and said, "I'm feeling cold. Can you hurry up?"

"Sure!" Jennifer nodded vigorously, scolding herself in her mind for thinking about such naughty things at a time like this. "Jennifer, you're unbelievable!" she grumbled to herself.

She hastened her movements to bandage James, but due to her nervousness, she accidentally hurt him several times.

To Jennifer, it felt quite awkward, but for James, he felt no ambiguity at all. He was in too much pain, too tired, too cold. Right now, all he wanted to do was sleep.

In reality, this injury wasn't severe enough to exhaust him like this. But because the seal on his body hadn't been lifted, the side effects emerged, making him weaker than usual.

He knew that falling asleep could be dangerous in his condition, so he forced himself to stay awake, trying to find a topic to chat with Jennifer. "By the way, why were you there today? Aren't you supposed to be at work?" he inquired.

Upon hearing this, Jennifer panicked inexplicably and quickly replied, "Oh, I left work early to meet a friend."

"Oh..." James nodded, about to ask more questions, when he noticed a document slipping out of Jennifer's bag. "What's this?" he asked her.

He picked it up and opened it, only to be stunned.

On the cover page, two cold words appeared, labeled as 'Divorce Agreement.'

"You said you were meeting a friend?" James's tone was calm.

Jennifer hadn't noticed yet and nodded, "Yes, I went to see a friend. Why..." she replied yet her words trailed off.

She looked up and saw the divorce agreement in James's hand, the originally pristine paper now stained with James's fresh blood.
