Chapter 264 So What If I Kill for You

"How dare you bully Jennifer!" James' voice cut through the air, frosty and unwavering, his expression an impenetrable mask of detachment.

Steve quaked under the weight of James's murderous aura, a dark stain spreading on his trousers as terror mingled with humiliation. His pride was shattered, consumed by a fear that burned hotter than anything he had ever known.

James frowned. He wouldn't dirty his hands with such trash in a public place. With a flick of his wrist, he sent Steve flying like a discarded rag doll, landing several feet away with a thud. He turned his attention to Jack, who was struggling to his feet, his face ashen with terror, all fight drained from him.

"Kneel," James commanded, his voice flat and devoid of emotion.

Jack met James' icy gaze and a shiver ran down his spine. He dropped to his knees, pleading. "Please, I beg you, let me go! I won't do it again!" Resistance was futile against this force of nature.

James gestured towards Jennifer. "Beg her forgiveness."

Jack scrambled towards Jennifer, his voice thick with fear and forced sincerity. "I was wrong, my lady. We were wrong to tease you. Please, forgive us. We won't ever do it again!"

Jennifer stood frozen, her eyes vacant, as if her soul had fled. She stared at James, biting her lip as she wrestled with a tempest of emotions.

James' concern and fierce protectiveness were unmistakable. In their five years of marriage, she had never witnessed such raw fury in him, a barely contained rage that threatened to explode.

And it was all because of her, because he saw her being humiliated. It was a testament to his love, his deep care for her.

An hour ago, this realization would have filled her with warmth and joy.

Now, it only brought pain, a deep, agonizing ache that threatened to swallow her whole.

Looking at James' worried face, tears welled up in her already swollen eyes.

Panic seized James at the sight of her tears. "Jennifer, why are you crying? Did they do something to you? Tell me!"

He reached for her hand, his own anger reignited by the icy coldness of her touch. He whirled around, grabbing Jack by the hair and hauling him up with brutal force. He slammed him against the wall, his voice a guttural snarl. "What did you do to her? I'll kill you!"

James was a man of refined composure, but all civility had vanished. His face, usually a mask of indifference, was now contorted with rage as a terrifying ferocity blazed in his eyes.

Jack, his airway constricted by James' grip, felt a terror mirroring Steve's. This time, the force was almost unbearable. He was suffocating, his vision blurring at the edges. Tears streamed down his face as he desperately clawed at James' hand, unable to utter a single plea for mercy.

James was consumed by a primal fury that eclipsed all reason. He was a man who rarely lost control, but when he did, the consequences were devastating.

The commotion had drawn a crowd, hundreds of curious and fearful onlookers, held back by the sheer intensity of the scene unfolding before them. No one dared to intervene, afraid to incur the wrath of the terrifying figure who held a man's life in his hands.

Even the children, usually oblivious to the weight of such situations, cowered behind their parents, their playful chatter silenced by the palpable fear in the air.

Jennifer snapped out of her daze. Seeing Jack on the verge of death, panic surged through her. She rushed towards James, slapping at his arm. "James, stop it! You'll go to jail! Let him go!"

"Let him go?" James roared, his eyes blazing. "He humiliated you! I'd kill them for you!"

Jennifer sobbed, her voice cracking with emotion. "Stop it! They didn't touch me! I'm not crying because of them!"

Her words, raw and desperate, hung in the air.

James froze, his grip slackening. Jack crumpled to the floor, gasping for breath, unable to move.

"What are you saying?" James looked at her, his face etched with confusion. "They didn't touch you? Then why are you crying like this?"

Jennifer bit her lip, her eyes red-rimmed and filled with a maelstrom of emotions.

'You cheat, you betray me, and yet you act so concerned? I hate you! I hate you!'

The words clawed at her throat, desperate to escape. But she wasn't one for public displays of emotion. If not for the unbearable pain that threatened to shatter her composure, she wouldn't be crying in front of this audience.

Looking at James, she felt a fresh wave of agony wash over her, and she couldn't bear the sight of him any longer. Overwhelmed, she turned and fled.

James stood there, stunned for a moment, before he bolted after her.

The crowd parted like the Red Sea, fear and awe etched on their faces. No one dared to stop him, not even the security guards, as he disappeared after Jennifer.

Left behind were two figures sprawled on the floor, broken and defeated, a stark reminder of the terrifying power that had just been unleashed.

Jennifer didn't run, not really. It was more of a frantic escape, fueled by heartbreak and despair. Tears streamed down her face, blurring her vision.

James felt a chill run down his spine. Jennifer's behavior was completely out of character, as if she had transformed into a different person.

He knew her better than anyone. This level of distress, this raw outpouring of grief, meant something had shattered her world.

'But what could possibly cause her such pain?

'Could it be her family?

'No, they have just left home. Everyone is fine.

'Then what is it?'

A terrifying thought struck him, sending a jolt of fear through his mind

'Could Jennifer have found out about what happened between me and Harmony?

'Impossible. The photos were deleted, and the camera was destroyed. How could she know?

'Unless Harmony told her?'
