Chapter 329 The Annoying and Silly Master

Arianwen suddenly felt a bit regretful. Why did she decide to live with James? It was clearly self-torture.

Seeing James with that cheeky grin, she inexplicably felt annoyed. As the host, James didn't act like one at all; he delighted in annoying her.

Originally, she could tolerate all this because James was her master, and she had a strong sense of hierarchy. But James was just too annoying. Plus, seeing James go for revenge alone without inviting her, she had already held some resentment toward him, and now she couldn't hold it in anymore. "Master, sometimes you are really annoying!"

She wanted to scold him more harshly, but once she added the word "master," it felt awkward. Besides, she had never scolded anyone before. Whenever she encountered someone she didn't like, she would just kill them directly, without the chance to scold them. So when she said this, it didn't sound like a scolding at all; instead, it had an inexplicable cuteness.

James burst out laughing; he was almost dying of laughter. Arianwen was just too amusing. It was the first time he had heard someone scold another while still calling them "master." It was clearly an act of being cute.

And for someone as cold as Arianwen to act cute, it was simply tempting.

Seeing James not only unashamed but also laughing, Arianwen felt helpless. She puffed up her cheeks in anger and glared at James, looking like she was about to rush up and fight him.

"Don't laugh. I'm serious!" Arianwen gritted her teeth, staring straight at James. Her eyes, which should have been filled with killing intent, looked cute because of her anger.

James was even happier. Beneath Arianwen's cold exterior was a hidden cute personality.

"Arianwen, look at you, getting all worked up. It's just delicious food. Don't be so reserved. If you want it, come and eat. I cooked plenty, enough for both of us," James said.

She gritted her teeth even more. If James weren't her master, she would have loved to pin him down and teach him a lesson. He was too annoying.

Seeing Arianwen on the verge of an angry outburst, James decided to stop while he was ahead. He smiled and said, "Look at you, so sexy when you're angry. Quit wearing that long face. You're only in your twenties. Anger makes you age."

Arianwen was stunned by his words and looked at him in surprise. Seeing the sincerity and comfort in James's eyes, she felt a lump in her heart.

All their interactions felt strange yet wonderful to her.

It seemed like it had been a long time since she had such an emotional fluctuation. Except for when her teacher passed away, she was always wearing that long face. Whether eating, sleeping, practicing, or killing, she always remained expressionless. For a long time, she even doubted if she was a robot, devoid of other emotions.

She wasn't stupid and quickly realized that James had been deliberately provoking her to stir up her emotions.

And over the past week, James had been acting annoying in front of her, deliberately provoking her, making her angry, and sometimes doing funny things to make her laugh.

Recalling all this, she suddenly felt very complicated.

James looked at her, smiling smugly, and asked, "So, are you grateful to me? With my help, you've felt the joy of being a woman?"

"You're so boring." Arianwen instantly reverted to her cold expression, gave him a disdainful glance, and then turned and went into her room.

James's smile froze. 'What is going on? Does my method not work? Is Arianwen really an emotionless robot?'

However, what he didn't know was that after Arianwen went into her room and locked the door, the corners of her mouth involuntarily lifted, revealing a smile she had never shown before. She softly said, "You annoying and silly master."

James finished his meal and finally felt comfortable. After watching the news for a while to digest, he went to take a shower.

His phone had died and turned off. After his shower, he returned to his room, turned on his phone, and found over a dozen missed calls and unread messages, all from Emberlyn.

Emberlyn: [James, I went to the bathroom just now and forgot my phone. Walter didn't say anything to you, did he?]

Emberlyn: [Walter is an idiot. Whatever he said to you, don't listen to him. I have nothing to do with him. I can't stand him!]

Emberlyn: [James, you aren't mad, are you? Answer the phone, I'm about to lose it.]

Emberlyn: [BTW, I've taken care of the mess with the Perry family. Your identity hasn't been exposed.]

Emberlyn: [James, you're killing me. Answer the phone please. If you don't, I'll jump off a building. I mean it!]

Emberlyn: [I'm already on the rooftop. It's so windy here, my chest is shaking. If you don't call me back, I'll jump, and you'll never see me again!]

Emberlyn: [It's been half an hour, and you still won't answer my calls or messages. James, are you a devil?]

Emberlyn: [Okay, I give up. James, answer my call. I really have nothing to do with that idiot Walter. He's been pestering me and even had the Jenkins family propose. He makes me sick. I will never agree to it. James, I always like you!]

James read through the dozen or so messages, feeling both amused and exasperated. He had put his phone on silent during the engagement party and hadn't had a chance to check it on the way back from the Perry family, so he missed Emberlyn's calls. He didn't expect her to be so dramatic.

He replied to Emberlyn: [My phone was on silent. I didn't hear the calls.]

Less than ten seconds after sending the message, Emberlyn's call came through. As soon as James answered, he heard Emberlyn's excited voice sound, "James, you finally texted me! That's great! James, did that idiot Walter say something nasty to you? Don't mind him. He's just a fool. I can't stand him! Don't worry. I will never betray you. I'm yours in this life. You can be with me whenever you want."

James felt helpless.

Fortunately, he was used to Emberlyn's personality and didn't find it strange. He said, "Stop talking nonsense!"

"Really, I've been expecting you." Then Emberlyn deliberately made a seductive sound. "James, I miss you."

James hung up the phone immediately.

Emberlyn called back right away. He answered, then hung up again. She called again, and he hung up again. This repeated five times. When James answered the sixth time, he asked, "Will you quit it?"
