Chapter 535 The Meeting of Two Women
Clio's mouth also dropped open. She didn't expect James to agree to even Rolf's demand.
In fact, this couldn't even be called a demand; it was an unreasonable request!
Leaving aside the ten martial artists at the third stage and the sixty-six martial artists at the second stage, even gathering those three hundred and fifty martial artists at the first stage is an arduous task. It was exceedingly difficult for an ordinary person to break through to become a martial artist.
At this point, she felt James was a bit arrogant and boastful.
Rolf hadn't originally intended for James to train so many martial artists. He would have been satisfied if James could train half that number. But to his surprise, James agreed without hesitation.
Since James had said so, Rolf certainly wouldn't refuse.
After concluding the discussion, James did not linger long, as he needed to return, lest he cause Jennifer to worry.
After James left, Clio asked, "Mr. Tackett, do you really think James can train that many martial artists in three years?"
Exactly. She had been practicing martial arts for over a decade and had been with the National Security Agency for eight years. Despite consuming countless resources, she was only at the peak of the second stage, still far from the third stage.
Yet now, James claimed he would cultivate five third-stage martial artists within three years; it seemed nothing short of boastful bravado.
Rolf, with his hands behind his back, looked in the direction where James had disappeared, then sighed, "James is truly remarkable. No wonder he's called the once-in-a-century genius of the Smith family, dominating the younger generation in the City of Mysteries. Seeing him today, the rumors outside still underestimate him. If someone like him could join our National Security Agency, we'd have a much better chance in the next big battle. What a pity."
With Rolf's words, Clio was surprised. She hadn't expected Rolf to hold James in such high regard. Rolf's standards were extremely strict, and he had never praised anyone like this before, not even the most talented Geraldo McGinnis in the National Security Agency.
In other words, Rolf seemed to be right. James was indeed much stronger than Geraldo.
Facing Geraldo, Clio could still gauge his abilities, but facing James, she couldn't fathom him at all. It was as if James was both an ordinary person and a towering mountain, unfathomable.
"James is indeed very strong. It's hard to imagine someone like him would marry into the Johnson family. I wonder what he was thinking," Clio said, puzzled.
Rolf looked at Clio meaningfully as he said, "Clio, you need to learn to keep your distance. James is not someone from your world."
Clio was taken aback, then her face turned red as she hurriedly explained, "Mr. Tackett, you misunderstand. I have no such thoughts about James!"
Rolf smiled slightly without words. He murmured to himself, "James, I hope you don't disappoint me."
Meanwhile, Jennifer had arrived downstairs and met the person sent by Lisa. He greeted Jennifer politely, "You must be Ms. Johnson. Ms. Savoy sent us to pick you up."
After speaking, he stepped aside to make way for Jennifer. Behind him was a brand-new Rolls-Royce Phantom, with a pure gold emblem, exuding grandeur.
With this, Jennifer's pupils slightly contracted, a surge of surprise coursing through her heart.
Jennifer knew that the woman named Lisa had a significant background, but being picked up in a Rolls-Royce Phantom still shocked her. This woman was James's fiancée, and compared to her, Jennifer felt she had no advantage.
She took a deep breath, suppressing such thoughts. She had come to see Lisa today, and conceding defeat was not on her agenda.
Jennifer might not be as wealthy, but she was beautiful, cultured, and most importantly, she had James's love. That was enough.
Holding these thoughts, Jennifer nodded and gracefully got into the car.
Jennifer resolved that, no matter what, she could not allow herself to be outshone by Lisa.
This was her first time in a Rolls-Royce, and as soon as she entered, she could smell the aura of luxury and wealth.
The Rolls-Royce had excellent soundproofing, making the car very quiet, allowing Jennifer's thoughts to wander.
Before long, the car stopped, and a voice interrupted her thoughts, "Ms. Johnson, we've arrived."
"Okay." As Jennifer reached for the handle, someone outside opened the door for her. They had stopped in front of a luxurious estate, and a red carpet was laid out where she would step out. People stood around, bowing and respectfully saying, "Welcome, Ms. Johnson."
This display made Jennifer's heart race.
Looking up, she saw that the estate was enormous, resembling a century-old royal estate, extremely grand.
Jennifer had no idea that Lindwood City had such a luxurious estate.
Were all these assets owned by the woman named Lisa?
What was the meaning of this, showing off her power?
Jennifer was smart and quickly figured it out.
However, even though she understood, the shock and inferiority in her heart were hard to dispel.
"Ms. Johnson, please. This estate is one of our Ms. Savoy's properties in Serenity Province. Ms. Savoy is waiting for you inside," said a beautiful young woman in uniform to Jennifer.
In fact, everyone here was young and attractive, the kind who could be movie stars.
But now, they were Lisa's servants.
Jennifer's feelings grew even more complicated.
Jennifer was aware that she wasn't a match for James, but her deep love for him and his affection for her made her deliberately ignore this fact.
But now, with another woman who was a hundred times better and more suitable for James appearing, Jennifer started to feel nervous.
She took a deep breath, striving to remain calm and not let these external distractions affect her.
Then Jennifer put on a confident smile and walked gracefully on the red carpet.
As she walked, she realized more and more how prestigious Lisa's status was. This estate was so luxurious that just the construction cost, not including the land, must have been at least several hundred million dollars.
This was just one of Lisa's properties in Serenity State.
At the same time, Jennifer harbored curiosity about what kind of person Lisa was and how wealthy Lisa was.
Led by the servants, Jennifer entered the estate, and upon entering, she was even more amazed.
She considered herself someone well-acquainted with the world, having visited five-star hotels and opulent villas. Yet, upon arriving here, she realized her experiences were still limited.
This place was extremely luxurious and grand.
