Chapter 395 Ex-Wife, Jennifer!
James's grip tightened, and the chalk in his hand shattered into pieces.
His mind went completely blank.
He always thought he might run into her someday, but he never expected it to be here and now. It threw him off completely and made him super nervous.
Right then, he felt a wave of panic like never before. Instinctively, he turned away, trying to hide his face, hoping she wouldn't recognize him.
The woman standing in front of him was none other than Jennifer, his ex-wife.
Even though James turned around quickly, Jennifer still saw him.
She didn't look surprised at all. Instead, she seemed excited and enthusiastic. It was obvious she knew he'd be here and came specifically to find him.
On her way over, Jennifer had imagined this moment a million times. She thought she'd be excited but not so much that she'd freeze up or feel like crying.
After all, she had already cried out of excitement last night when Edwin called to tell her James would be giving a lecture at the medical school today. She thought she had gotten all her emotions out then.
But now, seeing James in person, she was still overwhelmed by his presence.
As Jennifer and the young man walked in, they immediately caught everyone's attention in the large classroom. All eyes turned to them.
Everyone was stunned by Jennifer's beauty.
Even though she had been looking a bit worn out lately, she was still gorgeous. She had specifically put on makeup before coming to see James, hiding any signs of fatigue and making her look radiant and stunning.
The students had never seen such a beautiful woman before; they thought she waseven more beautiful than those on TV. They were all speechless.
The young man with Jennifer was fair-skinned and clean-cut, clearly a top student, and he looked confident and proud.
"Who is this beauty? She's absolutely stunning! Even more beautiful than celebrities!"
"Yeah, she's incredible."
"She came in with Fintan Ross. Is she Fintan's girlfriend?"
"No way, she looks a bit older than us. Maybe she's a senior or a new teacher?"
"She can't be from our school! If there was someone this beautiful here, we'd know about it. How could we not have seen her before?"
"Whoever she is, I'm calling dibs. She's my future wife."
"Get out! What are you thinking?"
All the boys were chattering and craning their necks, staring at Jennifer in awe.
Jennifer was indeed a beauty, and they were all practically drooling over her. For a moment, they didn't notice the tension between her and James. Only Fintan, standing next to Jennifer, sensed something was off and frowned slightly.
"Jennifer, are you okay?" Fintan asked softly.
Jennifer snapped out of it at Fintan's voice, took a deep breath, and smiled, "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's find a seat."
Fintan nodded. He was also a student at the medical school and had been twenty minutes late. He turned to James, " Sorry, we're late. Can we still join the lecture?"
He was super polite, but one could tell he had this air of confidence about him. He stood tall, exuding self-assurance.
James still had his back turned and didn't respond to Fintan.
James's odd reaction caught everyone's attention, and they all looked at him curiously.
Jennifer stood at the foot of the lectern, biting her lip slightly, trying hard to control her emotions while staring intently at James.
She had only caught a quick glimpse earlier and had already seen that James's facial scars were completely gone. He looked even more handsome than before.
Her breathing became a bit rapid, her chest tight, and every cell in her body felt alive. She was extremely excited, her heart racing. She had a strong urge to throw herself into James's arms and feel his presence.
But she held back because she knew she couldn't do that right now.
She was here because of Edwin, and no matter what, she had to respect that and not mess up the lecture.
Luckily, she had pretty good self-control and could handle it.
Jennifer wanted to say something, but she held back because she was afraid that once she spoke, she wouldn't be able to control her emotions.
Everyone was looking at James, thinking he was angry. After all, he was interrupted at a critical moment in his lecture, and it was understandable if he was upset.
James's mind was racing. He wasn't dumb and quickly figured out that Jennifer's presence here was definitely ralated to Edwin.
He now recalled his earlier meeting with Edwin, noticing that Edwin had shown some guilt in his eyes. He should have realized it then!
In the corner of the classroom, Arianwen also frowned, feeling a mix of emotions. She had never seen James so flustered.
It was clear that Jennifer held a very high place in James's heart.
James took a deep breath and quickly made himself calm down. Now that Jennifer was here, he couldn't avoid her even if he wanted to.
Moreover, in this situation, he couldn't avoid it. With hundreds of people in the large classroom, he had to face it calmly.
He turned around, his expression calm, "Come in, and don't be late next time."
His face looked calm, but his hands under the lectern were clenched tightly. He pinched his thigh hard to keep his brain focused, reminding himself to stay rational.
This way, James was fully exposed to Jennifer. Jennifer's eyes turned slightly red as she took a deep look at him and then found a seat to sit down.
