Chapter 422 A Phone Call Makes the Johnson Family Disappear

Molly piled on, sneering, "Scared now, huh? Weren't you all just acting tough, even daring to mess with Ezra? What happened to all that bravado? I thought you guys were supposed to be hardcore!"

Molly's voice dripped with sarcasm, her chubby cheeks jiggling. She couldn't stand James, thought he was beneath her, and yet he had the nerve to insult her. In her eyes, he deserved nothing less than total humiliation.

It was actually her idea to invite Dennis this time, but not out of any goodwill. She just wanted to see him get embarrassed.

She never expected Dennis to actually show up with his whole family. What a moron, especially that clueless son-in-law of his, looking like a total hick in his cheap, yellowed shirt. And he had the guts to offend Ezra? What an idiot!

She was thrilled to see this unfold; it was a break from her dull life. She thrived on seeing others suffer. The more miserable they were, the happier she felt.

Others joined in, mocking Dennis and Kaitlyn, making their faces go pale with fear.

Dennis, gritting his teeth, turned to Ethel's dad, his older brother Rhys Johnson, "Rhys, this is all a big misunderstanding. Considering all the work I've done for you and the protection fees I pay every month, could you please talk to Ethel and get Ezra to let this go?"

When Dennis was still with the Johnson Family, Rhys was the worst to him, always humiliating him, making him work like a dog, and taking a big chunk of his hard-earned money.

Now, Rhys's face darkened, and he snapped, "Dennis, you liar, stop accusing me. When did I ever take your money?"

Dennis's eyes turned red. He felt utterly humiliated and miserable. As the head of his family, he had to stay strong, using whatever little strength he had to protect them.

At that moment, a hand grabbed his cold one, and a steady voice said, "Dad, don't worry. As long as I'm here, nothing will happen to you. I really do know people from the Jenkins Family. I even saved Derek's life. One phone call and I can make the Johnson Family disappear from Sunridge City."

He wasn't bluffing.

With the favor he had with the Jenkins Family, just a word to Derek could make the Johnson Family vanish.

Even if he hadn't saved Derek, just relying on Walter's power, he could easily wipe out a small family like the Johnsons.

But Dennis just sighed and shook his head. He found James' remark just far-fetched.

Ezra burst out laughing, "One phone call to make the Johnson Family disappear? You must be something else! How dare you show off in front of me! I can't stand show-offs. Look at you, a poor man. What right do you have to show off?"

Valor laughed instead of getting mad like he'd just heard the funniest joke ever. "I haven't seen such a confident young man in ages. One phone call to make the Johnson Family disappear? Looks like Dennis really found himself a big shot for a son-in-law!"

"Dad, let him try. Let's see how he makes our Johnson Family vanish with one call."

"Yeah! I've never seen anyone so full of himself. Does he really think he's some kind of big deal?"

"You better make the Johnson Family disappear with that call, or your whole family will pay the price!"

The Johnson Family ganged up on James, tearing into him without mercy.

Dennis and Kaitlyn were so scared they looked like they might pass out.

Even Jennifer was freaking out. If the Walter James knew didn't show up on time or turned out to be just some regular guy from the Jenkins Family, they were toast!

But James stayed cool, almost looking forward to seeing their faces later.

On Walter's end, after James hung up, he was in full panic mode, breathing hard. He grabbed the nearest person and shouted, "Valor! Who's Valor, and where does he live? Take me there now! Are you all mute? Speak up!"

Walter's face was twisted with urgency, veins popping out on his neck.

This was a huge chance for him, one he couldn't afford to miss!

Ten minutes, now only nine left. He prayed Valor's place wasn't far, or he'd blow it.

If he missed this shot at becoming a martial artist, massive remorse would haunt him forever.

Becoming a martial artist was his ultimate dream, way more important than anything else.

Most people didn't know about martial artists, but he did. Once he became one, his status would skyrocket, both in society and globally.

More importantly, being a martial artist wasn't just about physical strength; it meant better intelligence, endurance, and even a longer life, which was the most tempting part.

"Walter! I just remembered that Valor is the manager of the Johnson Family. He lives in Silver Crest Villas, which is pretty close. If we hurry, we can get there in a few minutes!" an excited subordinate said.

Walter's eyes lit up, and he grabbed the guy's shoulder, "Are you sure we can get there in a few minutes?"

"We can!" the subordinate added, "But it's rush hour, so there might be traffic."

"I'll take a helicopter. Let's go now, fast!" Walter was in a frenzy and rushed out.

Luckily, he had recently bought a helicopter, and it was parked on the rooftop. They could fly over and definitely make it within ten minutes!

He kept staring at his watch, terrified of going over ten minutes and failing.

Thankfully, he arrived in the eighth minute.
