Chapter 191 The Predestined Husband

As she spoke, Ms. Jackson's face twisted with anger. She let out a heavy snort, clearly displeased with his sudden disappearance, gritting her teeth.

Then, her eyes rolled, revealing a cunning look, and she muttered to herself. "This time, let's see where you can run to when I find you..."

Observing Ms. Jackson's smile, Mr. Jackson couldn't help but shiver, feeling a chill down his spine. Thinking of her devilish methods, he began to pity the poor man who had caught Ms. Jackson's attention. He was truly pitiful.

Upon learning that James was in Lindwood City, Ms. Jackson rushed over immediately, traveling tirelessly. She was somewhat fatigued, and with a bit of time to spare, she quickly booked a room to get some sleep and replenish her energy. She wanted to be at her best for James.

"Wake me up in half an hour," she asked.

"Yes, Miss," he answered.

To Joe and the others, the high and mighty Mr. Jackson had now become a mere servant, standing obediently behind Ms. Jackson, not daring to make a sound for fear of disturbing her.

Meanwhile, James was growing increasingly bored. He had gone through the buffet twice and hadn't felt so full in a long time.

Harmony, standing nearby, was dumbfounded. She had watched James consume two large lobsters, half a chicken, a big bowl of shark fin soup, several servings of Foie Gras, eight abalones, and half a bottle of red wine.

That amount of food would be enough for her meals for two days.

And James had eaten it all in less than half an hour. The most absurd part was that James's stomach didn't even seem to bulge

'Has he never eaten before?' Harmony thought to herself.

"Are you a pig? How can you eat so much and not feel stuffed?" Harmony couldn't help but ask.

James burped, ungracefully patted his stomach, and lazily lay on the sofa. While flossing his teeth, he said contentedly, "Ah, it's been a long time since I've eaten so well."

Harmony was speechless. She realized that James had many secrets.

Closing his eyes, James could feel the food in his stomach rapidly digesting, slowly converting into energy and flowing into his body, filling him with strength.

At that moment, James looked suddenly strange, and he stood up and walked out. Harmony immediately said, "Hey, where are you going? Don't think about running away."

Without turning his head, James replied, "To the bathroom."

Harmony, who had just stood up, immediately sat back down, cursing, "Disgusting."

James rolled his eyes.

'Does she think that just because she is pretty, she doesn’t need to use the bathroom?' he shrugged and thought to himself.

After James left, a few more people approached Harmony to strike up a conversation, but without exception, they were all coldly dismissed by her.

"Where's James?"

Michael returned and, seeing only Harmony sitting there, asked curiously.

Harmony said with annoyance, "He went to the bathroom."

"By the way, where did you go just now? You took so long to come back."

"I went with Joe to greet Mr. Jackson." At this, Michael sighed deeply and said. "There are so many tycoons in our country. I may be considered a wealthy man in Lindwood City, but in front of Mr. Jackson, I don't even have the qualifications to speak with him."

Harmony was astonished. She had never seen Michael so dejected. In her mind, Michael had always been confident and commanding, never belittling himself. Indeed, he had managed to single-handedly take the family business up several levels within a mere decade, making it a leading enterprise in Lindwood City, and himself the richest man.

How could he change so much after just a short while outside?

"Michael, the Mr. Jackson you're talking about, is he the main guest of tonight's banquet? Who exactly is he?" Harmony asked in confusion.

Michael said seriously, "From what Joe hinted, Mr. Jackson is a high-ranking military official. Even Joe has to be extremely respectful in his presence for fear  of saying the wrong thing."

"If he's such a big shot, why come to Lindwood City?" she asked.

"It’s funny. Mr. Jackson is here because of his daughter. She wants to find a husband in Lindwood City," Michael said enviously. "I wonder who will be so lucky tonight to catch Ms. Jackson's eye."

"Choosing a husband?" Harmony frowned slightly. As a woman, her intuition made her skeptical that such a big shot would come to a small place like Lindwood City to find a husband for his daughter.

Half an hour passed quickly. Ms. Jackson awoke feeling much more refreshed. She looked radiant, and her eyes sparkled as if they could speak.

"Alright, let's go."

"Yes, Miss."

Ms. Jackson took Mr. Jackson's arm, and the two instantly resumed their roles as father and daughter, walking out together.

Their arrival immediately livened up the scene.

"Everyone, please quiet down."

Joe took the stage, smiling as he spoke, and the room instantly fell silent, with all eyes on him.

Joe continued, "Today is a special day because it is an honor to welcome a big shot to Lindwood City, Mr. Jackson. Let's give him a warm round of applause!"

Thunderous applause erupted throughout the room.

The atmosphere was incredibly lively.

Joe then passionately introduced Mr. Jackson's background. He didn't make it too obvious but spoke in a veiled manner, mentioning some major events in recent years, both domestically and internationally, implying that they were all connected to the forces behind Mr. Jackson. After hearing this, everyone admired and revered Mr. Jackson even more.

"We are privileged to have Mr. Jackson in our city. Now, let's give a warm welcome to Mr. Jackson to come up and speak!" Joe led the applause.

Once again, the room was filled with enthusiastic clapping.

Under everyone's gaze, Mr. Jackson took the stage. He was tall, with a square face, exuding determination and authority.

His presence was commanding. Once on stage, he lightly pressed his right hand down in the air, and the room immediately fell silent.

"I've wanted to visit Lindwood City for a long time. I've heard it's a place of outstanding people and exceptional young talents, and today, I see it's true." Mr. Jackson began, speaking confidently. He didn't ramble on but quickly got to the point after a brief introduction. "To be honest, the main reason I'm here today is because of my daughter. One night, she dreamt of God, who told her that her husband would be a young talent from Lindwood City. The next night, she dreamt of God again, who told her that whoever could make her laugh would be her husband."
