Chapter 60 Dining with Harmony
James stayed in the hospital for three days. His wounds had completely dried and scabbed over, allowing him to walk freely. The injuries on his hands had also healed significantly, posing no major obstacles, so he was discharged.
During these days in the hospital, he was almost going crazy from boredom. Upon leaving the hospital, he felt like he had been reborn.
His thighs still felt a bit numb when walking, but as long as he didn't run, it was fine.
He didn't take a taxi but instead chose to slowly walk home back home.
Firstly, he had no money on him, and his phone was dead. Secondly, after lying in the hospital for so long, he wanted to take a good walk and stretch his muscles.
After walking for about two kilometers, he got tired and sat down to rest.
At that moment, a red Lamborghini sports car passed by him and stopped. The window rolled down, revealing an unbelievably beautiful face.
James looked over, feeling a bit surprised—it was Harmony.
"You just got out of the hospital, why didn't you take a cab?" Harmony questioned, since she had been following James for a while now. She did not mention anything about the last incident, but she was truly grateful inside.
Over these past few days, she had not only recovered her health but also improved her skin, body shape, and facial features. She could easily guess that it was all thanks to James.
She wasn't as ungrateful as some might have thought. James had saved her life, and she silently kept that in her heart.
James chuckled, and nonchalantly stated, "I didn't bring any money."
"What about your phone?" Harmony said.
"It's dead," he responded.
After a moment of hesitation, Harmony said, "Get in the car, I'll give you a ride."
"Well, I can walk back on my own, no need for that," James shook his head, declining Harmony's offer.
Unexpectedly, Harmony became angry instead, impatiently saying, "I told you to get in the car, just get in."
Seems like Harmony was quite the domineering CEO.
James was actually tired from walking and continuing would not be good for his wounds. Since Harmony insisted on giving him a ride, he saw no need to be overly stubborn.
With a simple "thank you," James got into the car.
Her sports car was a two-seater, so James had to sit in the passenger seat facing Harmony. There was a hint of awkwardness, especially since not long ago, he had seen her bare body... No, not just seen, but also touched.
Back then, his intentions were purely for treatment, but now it felt different for him.
Harmony seemed to have thought of that incident as well. A blush briefly appeared on her face, quickly returning to normal as she asked, "Where do you want to go?"
Just as James was about to speak, his stomach growled embarrassingly. He coughed a couple of times to try to cover his embarrassment. But before he could say anything, Harmony spoke first, "Let's go eat."
Without giving James a chance to interject, she stepped on the gas, and the car shot off like an arrow.
This sudden turn of events left James feeling a bit nervous. Miss Brown seemed refined on the outside but harbored a restless heart.
Soon, the car came to a stop in front of a French restaurant. As they got out, Harmony asked, "By the way, it's a French restaurant, do you like it?"
James wasn't particularly fond of French cuisine, so he asked, "If I say I don't like it, will you change the place?"
"No," Harmony replied without hesitation.
James rolled his eyes.
As they walked in, Harmony attracted the attention of many men. After being cured of her illness, she exuded a different aura, with better health, a more alluring figure, and refined facial features. If a perfect woman could score ten, she was at least a nine.
"Harmony, it's been a while since you last came by," the restaurant manager greeted her as he approached Harmony respectfully.
Harmony sighed, "Yes, it's been a while. During this time..."
She glanced at James, a hint of gratitude flashing in her eyes. This period had been the most painful in her life, and if it weren't for James, she might not be alive today.
"Let's talk something else. Is my favorite spot still available?" Harmony asked as she resumed her cool demeanor.
The manager nodded. "It is. Let me take you there," he offered.
His gaze quickly swept over James, showing surprise. Harmony was a regular here, but she had never come with a man alone.
Knowing Harmony's identity as the sister of Lindwood City's richest man and her own stunning appearance, he was curious about this ordinary-looking man.
"Order whatever you like," Harmony urged while she signaled the waiter to give the menu to James.
Since they were already there, James didn't hold back and ordered some of his favorites.
It must be said that the place was expensive for a reason. Regardless of the food's quality, the ambiance was excellent, high-class, and tasteful.
After the waiter left, both of them felt a bit uneasy.
"James," Harmony broke the silence first, raising the wine cup to cover most of her face.”
"Yes?" James casually answered.
"Thank you for the last time..." she said.
James smiled, and remarked, "It was nothing. I just did something that needed to be done."
Harmony glanced at James and fell silent, the atmosphere becoming awkward once again.
Suddenly, a man's voice came from nearby, "The next piano piece is dedicated to the beautiful Miss Brown."
James was taken aback and followed the source of the voice, seeing a handsome man in a white suit with long hair sitting at the piano. He had a charming smile as he looked at Harmony, then elegantly began playing the piano.
Instantly, everyone in the restaurant turned their attention towards Harmony. Seeing her with a man across the table, they glanced briefly before looking away. Compared to him, James seemed truly ordinary, to the point where he would blend into a crowd without standing out.
James quickly realized that this man was Harmony's admirer—young, wealthy, and handsome.
Harmony furrowed her brows slightly, showing impatience and annoyance. She muttered, "Why did I run into him here, so annoying."
It had to be admitted that the admirer's piano skills were very impressive and charming enough to woo women. Along with his handsome appearance and tall figure, he had quite the charm.
To an expert like James, however, he was a bit inexperienced.
If James were to play now, he could easily outshine him by a hundredfold, but of course, he wouldn't show off like that.
After the piece ended, Harmony's admirer received numerous applauses, and to show his innocence towards Harmony, James politely clapped twice as well.
Performing a gentlemanly bow, he casually picked a rose from a vase and walked towards Harmony. "Miss, this flower is for you, representing my feelings towards you," the man proclaimed his affection toward her.
Harmony said expressionlessly and aloofly, "I'm sorry, I can't accept this flower."
"Why not?" the man in the white suit questioned as he slightly frowned.
At that moment, Harmony suddenly looked at James, her eyes flashing as she uttered words that caught James off guard.
