Chapter 98 Bar Encounter

"Don't go!" Harmony called out.

James frowned and said unpleasantly, "Harmony, please behave yourself."

Harmony was angry. Did she really annoy him so much? Her body was even seen and touched by him, and now she just wanted him to have a drink with him. Was it so difficult for him? As she thought about this, she grew increasingly resentful. Eventually, tears welled up in her eyes.

"I just want you to have a drink with me, not asking for your life. Do you have to refuse me like this?" Harmony stated and yet felt a bit cheap at this moment. Despite James's coldness towards her, she still hoped he would stay.

At the same time, she also felt angry. Why wouldn't he accompany her for a drink? Was it so embarrassing for him? After all, she had a much higher social status than James!

She stubbornly demanded, "Fine, you don't want to stay, I insist on you staying!"

Because her voice was a bit loud, many people around looked over. When they saw Harmony's appearance, they all showed amazed expressions.

Harmony was indeed very beautiful, with jet-black silky hair, a stunning face, exquisite features like a fairy in a painting, and a sexy and tall figure. Her long legs in black stockings were especially alluring, making many people stare.

And the teary look in Harmony's eyes was pitiful, almost irresistibly tempting.

Even James was a bit distracted after seeing her. It had to be said that Harmony was really too beautiful; there were hardly any men in the world who wouldn't be moved by her.

In comparison, James was just too ordinary or plain. No, it's not ordinary; he should be called a loser.

Isn't it true? The current James was wearing very old clothes, with exposed threads at the neck, and shoes that were old-fashioned, worn-out Reeboks. If anyone else present had clothes this worn-out, they would have thrown them away long ago.

The current James looked like a poor boy who had just come out of the countryside, quite down and out.

Normally, he wouldn't wear such tattered clothes, but because it had been raining continuously in Lindwood City these days, his clothes hadn't dried. Besides, he didn't have many clothes to wear, so he had to put on this outfit from a few years ago. Also, the message Harmony had sent him seemed too urgent to dismiss, so he hurried over without having time to go home and change clothes.

If he were alone, it would be fine, but now, standing in front of Harmony, he seemed completely out of place.

Yet, this kind of poor boy had somehow won the earnest plea of Harmony, a scene that made onlookers find it incredibly unreal.

Some even thought that maybe James had used some kind of sorcery to enchant Harmony.

James said helplessly, "Harmony, with so many suitors pursuing you, why do you insist on me accompanying you? As long as you say the word, there will be no fewer than hundreds of people willing to accompany you for a drink here."

Somebody offered, "Yeah, yeah, beauty, let me accompany you for a drink. I can be your loyal audience."

Another suggested, "Beauty, since this guy doesn't want to drink with you, why not choose us? Look, I'm much better than him. I'm willing to drink with you for three days and three nights!"

Someone boasted, "Tsk, what's three days and three nights? As long as you like, I'll accompany you for a lifetime."

One argued, "You can forget it. Look at yourself before you talk. With your appearance..."

Several men around came over, talking all at once, their eyes scanning Harmony, unable to hide their fiery gazes.

For them, Harmony was just too beautiful; they had never seen such a stunning woman in their lives. If they could have a moment with her, it would be worth sacrificing twenty years of their lives!

Harmony, however, kept her eyes on James. She shamelessly insisted, "No, I only want you to accompany me."

James felt a headache coming on. Had Harmony lost her mind today, clinging to him like this?

He thought of a possibility, his heart suddenly racing. Could it be because of what happened last time that Harmony was now fixated on him?

Just then, a vulgar voice rang out, "Beauty, why beg him? Let me accompany you. I am so capable; not only can I drink with you but also do other exciting things, Hahaha."

James turned around and saw a man with a large gold chain around his neck, his chest exposed, with a fierce centipede tattoo, looking quite intimidating. Flanking him were two similarly rough-looking thugs, their eyes leering at Harmony, almost drooling.

Harmony immediately frowned in disgust, clutching her chest and hiding behind James, cursing, "You lunatic, go back and accompany your mother!"

Upon hearing this, the man with the gold chain's expression changed immediately. "You bitch, what did you say!? Say it again if you dare!" he said, furiously.

His eyes widened, fists clenched, muscles twitching continuously, exuding a strong sense of intimidation.

These men who had been flattering Harmony just a moment ago quickly distanced themselves from her, afraid of getting involved in trouble.

Harmony felt a bit scared at once. She had deliberately left her bodyguards behind today and came out alone. If she got into a conflict with these three men, she would be in danger.

So, she discreetly tugged at James's clothes, and suggested, "Let's go drink somewhere else."

James nodded. He couldn't be bothered to argue with these three thugs.

"Wanna leave? There's no way to escape!" the man with the gold chain arrogantly said. Meanwhile, the three thugs immediately blocked their way.

Harmony was angry. "What do you want?!" she asked, impatiently.

The man with the gold chain smirked, and rudely replied, "Beauty, you asked a good question. We do indeed want something from you!"

He deliberately emphasized the word 'do,' his gaze scanning Harmony's hot figure, his expression as lecherous as it could get. When he saw James blocking his view, his face immediately darkened, showing impatience.

Harmony regretted deeply. If she had known, she wouldn't have left her bodyguards behind. Harmony had been pampered since childhood and had never been harassed by ruffians like this before. She was so angry that her face twisted.

"I'll count to three. If you don't move, I'll call the police," Harmony said coldly.

However, her words only elicited laughter from the three men with the gold chain. He dared her, "Haha, call the police? I'm so scared. If you dare, go ahead and call. Let's see if you make a call faster or we act faster."

With that, he took a step forward, and the three men surrounded James and Harmony. In reality, they only surrounded Harmony; they didn't even consider James.

Upon hearing this, Harmony became even more furious. If she hadn't left her bodyguards behind, she wouldn't have encountered such a situation.

"I warn you, you'd better not mess around. I'm not someone you can provoke!" Harmony straightened her back and pounded her chest, staring coldly at them.

But her words didn't intimidate the men with the gold chain at all; instead, it made them even more excited, staring greedily at Harmony's towering chest.

"What an enormous boob. Let me see if it's real," The man with the gold chain remarked as he reached out to Harmony with a lecherous look.

"How dare you?!" Harmony gasped and was instantly frightened. She quickly stepped back, and right behind her was the bar counter. With nowhere else to go, she was about to be touched by the man with the gold chain...

At that moment, a large hand accurately interrupted the man's filthy action.
