Chapter 604 Sudden Change!

"Wait a sec!" A woman gasped, pointing at the princess. "She's that princess from Frostreach! Selina! Oh my God, Your Highness, what are you doing all the way in Sunlandia?!"

Her words immediately caused a stir among everyone present, and they all stared at Selina in astonishment.

Then, many people took out their phones, went online to search, and verified Selina's identity. She really was a princess!

The vibe shifted instantly. What started as Selina chasing a celebrity turned into her being the main attraction. People flocked over, snapping selfies and begging for her autographs.

Gray was not having it. To him, these Sunland folks were beneath her, and their fawning felt like they were tarnishing her royal aura.

"Back off! Stay away from the Princess!" His voice boomed, a fourth-stage martial artist's aura hitting hard. A few people with weak nerves nearly fainted, faces pale and hearts pounding.

The crew wasn't thrilled, but seeing Gray's towering frame, plus Tom and Rose looking like they could bench-press a truck, they kept their mouths shut.

Selina, ever the class act, smiled. "No need to freak out. Gray's just my bodyguard—he means no harm to you. My apologies for the drama."

James watched, impressed. Selina was handling it like a pro.

Kevin, upon learning that Selina was a princess, looked at her with even more fervor. He never imagined that he would have a fan who was a princess. This was a huge surprise for him!

Sure, Kevin was riding the wave of fame, but he wasn't delusional. As a young heartthrob, he knew how fickle the spotlight could be. His fanbase was huge now, but his place in the industry wasn't exactly rock-solid. He was more a product of the company's marketing than anything else. Without them, he'd be back to square one. Plus, his acting skills weren't exactly award-worthy. But if he could cozy up to Selina, everything would be different.

"Your Highness, didn't you want to take a photo with me?" He flashed what he thought was his most handsome smile and waved at Selina.

Offstage, Selina had been a total fangirl, obsessed with Kevin. But face-to-face? The magic fizzled fast. He didn't look as hot as he did on screen—his skin wasn't great, his makeup was caked on, and his face had that "worked on" vibe. It was a major letdown.

Still, she'd come all this way, so she figured she might as well snap a photo with him. No point in wasting the trip. But the excitement? Gone. She was just going through the motions now.

Kevin, seeing how beautiful and well-shaped Selina was, was extremely excited, constantly swallowing his saliva. As she got closer, he had a strong urge to wrap his arm around Selina's waist.

But just as he reached out, a guy nearby snapped to attention, his eyes sharp and dangerous. In a flash, he was on Kevin, shoving him back and stepping between him and Selina.

The room froze.

That guy? James. Despite his usual usually lazy demeanor, he was always on high alert, ready to jump in at the first sign of trouble!

"Damn bumpkin, messing with the Princess?" Gray snapped, his temper flaring as he lunged at James.

But then, a sharp pang shot through his head—a gut feeling something was off. Years of battle instincts kicked in, and he dodged just in time. Still, he wasn't fast enough. A blade sliced through his arm, leaving a nasty gash.

It was a slender sword.

And the opponent was also a fourth-stage martial artist!

An assassin had really appeared!

At this moment, Gray understood and felt the overwhelming killing intent coming from six directions.

"Protect the Princess!" Gray shouted.

The other two bodyguards also reacted.

Everyone else was just standing there, confused. What the hell was going on? How'd it come to this?

The young actor, Kevin, was sprawled on the floor, dazed after James kicked him. Lucky for him, James held back—otherwise, that kick would've been a one-way ticket to the afterlife.

James, though, was on it. The second he sensed the assassin's vibe, he was on Selina, shielding her. If he hadn't moved that fast, she'd already be gone.

Still, he didn't come out unscathed. A blade grazed his shoulder, slicing through his skin. Close call.

James turned around and saw an assassin dressed in black, wearing a mask, with only their eyes exposed, standing where he had been. With a flick of the wrist, the assassin created a flurry of sword flowers and stabbed at James.

In James's mental world, he felt the extremely sharp sword energy. If he wasn't careful, he would be pierced through.

This was a top-level fourth-stage martial artist!

Whoever sent someone this skilled after Selina meant business. If it hadn't been James shielding her, but Sidney instead, Selina would have been dead.

For some reason, those eyes felt familiar to James, like he'd seen them before somewhere.

But there was no time to dwell on it. James planted one hand on the ground, launched himself sideways, and spun mid-air, his leg snapping out so fast it was almost invisible.

The assassin's pupils contracted sharply. Unable to change moves in time, they felt a shock in their grip, and their hard sword was kicked and broken by James!

James had already landed. After breaking the opponent's sword with a kick, he didn't pause and struck the assassin's chest with a seemingly light palm. However, the assassin felt the power of this palm. If it hit, they would be either dead or disabled!

The assassin's reaction was quick. Instead of fighting head-on, they dodged with an extremely skillful move.

Meanwhile, the other five assassins arrived.

The situation suddenly became dire!
