Chapter 576 Mr. Smith?

Meanwhile, James had already boarded the flight back to the City of Mysteries.

He sat by the window, watching the scenery below shrink as the plane ascended. Once they reached the clouds, his thoughts began to drift.

Many thought were spreading through his mind.

This time returning to the City of Mysteries, he knew there would be many potential dangers awaiting him.

But he didn't care about any of that.

Including Neil, he knew that this time back, there would definitely be a confrontation between them.

However, he didn't care.

In this regard, James and Neil were quite similar; both were inherently proud to the extreme, never considering the other worthy of their attention.

Now, James's martial arts had reached a high level, and his strength had greatly increased, not just physically but also in terms of his awareness and spirit. In other words, his consciousness was now sharper, and his spirit more vibrant, having transformed from quantity to quality, allowing him to see through some things that couldn't be explained by broad scientific concepts.

He could vaguely sense some people's hostility towards him and the dangers he might face in the future.

Like with Neil, James had never met Neil, only heard his name, but he could sense that Neil was not his match.

This feeling was very mysterious, beyond the realm of the sixth sense, more like a seventh sense.

So James couldn't describe it clearly.

Suddenly, he noticed someone looking at him.

And it wasn't just one gaze; clearly, the individlas recognized him.

James's awareness was now so strong that even without looking at the person, he could roughly sense whether the gaze was friendly or hostile.

He slightly curled his lips into a smile, surprised that on this trip back, he would encounter people from the City of Mysteries industry.

Sure enough, now to his left and behind him, sat a man and a woman, both from the City of Mysteries industry, and they both knew James.

They spoke in hushed tones, "My gosh, Is that James?"

"Yeah, it's him! I can't believe we ran into him here."

"Why does he seem so refined now? He doesn't look as arrogant and flamboyant as he used to. It's really strange."

"He just looks refined. His way of doing things hasn't changed; he's still very arrogant. Otherwise, he wouldn't have killed Lester in public at the Silver Eagle Conference recently! Lester, Mason's son, who was a tyrant in the industry, was killed by James. The key is, Mason couldn't do anything about James. Just think about how arrogant James is!"

"That's true. Do you think he has already noticed us?"

"Probably not. I've been very low-key, and we're just small fry. James shouldn't recognize us."

"That's a relief. I was really afraid he might suddenly attack us, this demon king."

They discussed in low voices, thinking they wouldn't be noticed by James, but James heard every word clearly, including the few bad things they said about him.

James naturally didn't care about what they said. The current James was still arrogant at heart, but his personality had become much gentler, and his tolerance had grown. As long as the other party wasn't too excessive, he wouldn't act rashly.

They didn't know that their words had been heard by James, or they would have been scared to death.

For individuals from the City of Mysteries, James returning to the City of Mysteries was big news. These two were eager to open their phones immediately and tell everyone in the industry that James was back, and they were the ones who discovered it.

Recently, James had left the City of Mysteries and had been stripped of his heir status by Alistair, which was shocking to many. In fact, many people were hoping James would return and stir things up in the City of Mysteries.

Especially since there was a rumor that Lisa seemed to be engaged to James. This was definitely big news, and for a while, everyone turned their attention to Neil. In the City of Mysteries, it was well- known that Neil was infatuated with Lisa. And Neil was undoubtedly the number one in the City of Mysteries!

This made things exciting. James was the former number one in the City of Mysteries, and Neil was the current number one. If they could fight, it would be thrilling.

So, as soon as the plane landed, the man and woman immediately turned on their phones and posted in many groups that they had encountered James and that James had returned to the City of Mysteries!

This news naturally caused a sensation, and many previously quiet groups became lively, with people asking if it was true.

Some doubted it, questioning if James would dare return with Neil in the City of Mysteries.

So, some demanded proof.

This angered the man and woman.

They gritted their teeth, mustered the courage, and secretly took out their phones to take pictures. One took photos while the other recorded a video. Once they had the evidence, those would believe that James returned .

However, when they opened their cameras and aimed at James, they found that James was gone, vanished.

The woman said in confusion, "Where is he? He was just there, how did he disappear in the blink of an eye?"

The man frowned and said, "Yeah, where did he go?"

The woman asked, "Do you think James noticed us and ran away?"

"Impossible. We've been so low-key. James isn't God; how could he notice?" Before the man could finish his sentence, a pair of hands landed on their shoulders, and a voice said in their ears, "Are you looking for me?"

Hearing this voice, their bodies immediately shook violently, their faces turning pale, trembling.

It was James's voice!

They mechanically turned their heads and indeed saw James standing between them, one hand on each of their shoulders, smiling at them. That look made them terrified.

"Mr. Smith?" The man spoke with a smile uglier than crying.

The woman was equally flustered and terrified, as if James were a demon about to devour them.

To be fair, they had never interacted with James before and had no grudges. Meeting him shouldn't have made them so scared, but James's reputation was too big. Plus, they had been badmouthing James behind his back and trying to secretly take his picture, so they felt guilty. Now caught red-handed by James, they were naturally scared out of their wits.

James felt a bit frustrated.
