Chapter 430 The Smith Family Calls!
After five years of marriage, they had never had sex. No one would believe such a thing if it were said out loud; it was so absurd. Especially with someone as beautiful as Jennifer, how could James possibly resist?
But the fact remained that they had indeed maintained a pure relationship without any sexual contact.
And tonight, they were finally going to break that barrier and become a real married couple!
It was really exciting.
Even though James had known this day would come, he still couldn't contain his excitement.
For a man like James, he only had to crook his finger, and countless women would willingly lie in bed, waiting for his favor.
Logically, the easier something was to obtain, the less it was cherished, the more indifferent one became.
But for James, Jennifer was different from all other women. Jennifer was the woman he had been married to for five years, spent every day with for five years, and been despised by for five years. His desire for Jennifer was stronger than for any other woman in the world.
It used to be a form of revenge, revenge for Jennifer's arrogance, revenge for Jennifer's harshness. He dreamed of seeing Jennifer beneath him, desperate and begging for mercy.
Then, their relationship softened, transforming from enemies to lovers, which meant their love was far deeper than that of an average couple.
They had been through so much together, from mutual hostility to becoming lovers. The experiences and psychological changes they went through were enough to leave a deep imprint on each other.
But there was still one thing missing between them about breaking that barrier and having sex!
James was overcome with genuine excitement. To him, it had transcended a mere interaction between a man and a woman; it represented the moment when he and Jennifer would finally consummate their relationship.
That feeling was indescribable. Clearly, they had only been acting at first, and they just happened to end up together. This kind of fate was incredibly rare. Especially since James was willing to give up his position as the heir to the Smith Family for this woman, truly choosing beauty over career, which was something not every man could do!
Any man with normal values would think James was crazy.
Was James crazy?
He wasn't crazy; he just chose what was more important to him.
He gently placed Jennifer on the bed, his gaze incredibly tender, and kissed her on the lips, "Jennifer, you are so beautiful."
Could there be anything more touching than those words?
In an instant, Jennifer smiled happily, holding James's face. The shyness disappeared from her face, replaced by endless tenderness and happiness, "Then what are you waiting for?"
James smiled slightly, and then his kiss slowly fell on Jennifer's lips.
The room was quiet, everything seemed so calm, without the intense battle one might imagine.
In James's views, Jennifer was the most precious and beautiful piece of art in the world, worth cherishing and loving for a lifetime.
So he was 'savoring' Jennifer, treasuring this moment.
Jennifer had never experienced such a thing before; in this regard, she was completely a novice with no experience. Coupled with her personality, she didn't respond much to James, mostly lying on the bed, nervously clutching the sheets, biting her lip, and feeling James's love for her.
They hadn't even fully undressed yet, just kissed for a while, and Jennifer was already overwhelmed, her face turning as red as an apple. Even though she bit her teeth tightly, she couldn't suppress her soft moans.
But slowly, Jennifer began to relax. She knew what awaited her next.
Once it happened, she would be completely transformed, becoming a woman in the truest sense.
But just then.
James's phone rang.
Actually, it didn't ring because he had it on silent; it was just vibrating on the dressing table.
Jennifer didn't even hear it.
But James did. Someone was calling him.
Instantly, James's movements ceased, and his expression became rigid.
Logically, it was normal for someone to call him. It could be Walter, it could be Edwin, it could even be Harmony. But why was he so nervous, even scared?
The reason was simple. The SIM card he usually used had been removed. The one in the phone now was a special SIM card, one he had brought from the Smith family, and only the Smith Family knew this number.
In other words, the Smith Family was calling him.
And at this moment, the fact that the Smith Family was calling him was very significant because he had been waiting for this call for over five years.
Sensing James's unease, Jennifer opened her eyes and shyly asked, "What's going on?"
James instantly wiped the rigid expression from his face and said, "Nothing, let's continue."
"Okay," Jennifer nodded gently and closed her eyes again.
But the phone kept vibrating, again and again, clearly indicating that the Smith Family was persistently calling him.
By the fourth call, James sighed inwardly. He knew he couldn't avoid it; he had to answer the call.
"Jennifer, I need to take a call," James said softly.
Jennifer was stunned, clearly reluctant, "Do you have to take it now?"
She was already aroused, eager to receive James's love.
James nodded, "Yeah, it's a rather important call."
Jennifer didn't clear the significance of James's words. Although she was reluctant, she didn't insist, nodding gently in agreement.
James got off the bed, took a deep breath, and looked at the phone. Sure enough, it was the Smith Family calling.
He didn't answer it in the room but went to the balcony in the living room.
Seeing his actions, Jennifer suddenly felt nervous, with a sense of foreboding.
James moved lightly, walking to the balcony. The cold night wind blew against him, making him feel a bit chilly. He took a deep breath and answered the call.
Silence, neither side spoke, only the sound of each other's breathing could be heard.
James already knew who it was. He immediately felt guilty.
After a while, a voice finally came from the other side, "You failed."
"Yeah," James didn't deny it, with his tone carrying a hint of guilt, "I let you down, Father."
