Chapter 330 Inner Vision

Emberlyn's voice came through the phone, all whiny and annoyed, "James, you're doing it again."

Every time Emberlyn got all pouty like this, James had a go-to response that always worked. She'd back down every single time.

"It's late, you should hit the sack," James said, sounding all grumpy and yawning because he was already kinda beat.

"Hold up!" Emberlyn blurted out when she heard James about to hang up.

"What now?" James's tone was already dripping with impatience.

Hearing James's tone, Emberlyn felt a surge of anger. Every guy around her would bend over backward to make her happy. Even someone as loaded as Walter would be all about keeping her pleased, scared to tick her off. But James? He couldn't care less, always hanging up on her and talking to her like she was a bother.

The most maddening part? She couldn't do a thing about it and just had to let James be.

She'd been into James since forever, like since they were kids. No other guy even came close.

In the game of love, the one who falled first was the one who loved harder and got hurt!

Emberlyn suddenly got how Walter and the others felt about her; it was exactly how she felt about James!

"James, there's really nothing between Walter and me. I can't stand him," Emberlyn said earnestly, scared James might get the wrong idea.

But James just gave a short grunt and then asked, "Anything else?"

Emberlyn gritted her teeth. 'I've been so sincere, can't you just play along a little?'

She really wanted to cuss James out, but she didn't dare. She was scared if she did, James would just ghost her.

"Nothing else, have a good sleep." Emberlyn sighed, sounding all helpless and disappointed.

James gave another short grunt and then hung up the phone.

Emberlyn listened to the dial tone for five seconds, then chucked the phone onto the bed, flopped down, and started beating up a stuffed toy, angrily muttering, "James, one day, I will conquer you. You're driving me nuts!"

After hanging up, James didn't crash right away. Instead, he sat down to meditate. He'd been in some serious action tonight and took a few hits. The injuries weren't a big deal for him, but they still messed with his body. Mainly because his burns hadn't fully healed, and tonight's moves had reopened some wounds.

So he needed to use his internal energy to patch himself up.

Closing his eyes, he slowly slipped into a mystical state, like he could see inside his body, every blood vessel, every meridian, and every bone.

His consciousness turned into a tiny bot, flying through his body, finding all the injuries and fixing them up.

He could even 'see' the scars on his skin and the burned tissues. This made the healing process way faster.

An hour later, he suddenly opened his eyes, unable to hide the joy in them!

After tonight's brawl, James had actually leveled up to the inner vision realm.

It was totally mind-blowing.

Hitting the inner vision realm was like, super tough for martial artists.

Throughout history, barely anyone had made it there.

From the moment of birth, one starts piling up toxins and getting hurt. However, body's immune system and repair skills can't keep up with the damage.

That's why, as folks get older, their bodies start to fall apart in different ways.

Medically, it was called cellular aging, but James thought it was more about the body's repair game not keeping up with the damage.

Basically, it was an imbalance.

A lot of athletes peak in their teens to twenties because their bodies get too banged up to fix in time. Some injuries are just permanent, leading to a decline.

Even those who take super good care of themselves can only stretch their peak to their forties or fifties. After that, it's all downhill.

Logically, he'd still start to decline after hitting fifty.

But now, things were different. He'd learned inner vision, letting him see exactly which blood vessel, organ, bone, or tissue had issues and use his internal energy to fix them up precisely!

This way, he could not only extend his peak age but also keep his body in a constant peak state!

It sounded easy, but pulling it off was insanely hard. Even James's grandpa, Alistair, hadn't reached the inner vision realm!

"Could it be a chain reaction from the expansion of my energy sea?" James muttered to himself. After an hour of meditating, he'd almost fixed all the damage from tonight. He'd also found and repaired some deep, hidden injuries he'd never noticed before.

Clenching his fists, he felt like a new man, as if all his organs had been swapped out for brand new ones!

"Looks like I really hit the jackpot," James said with a satisfied grin.

He also noticed his senses had gotten sharper—his vision, hearing, smell, and touch were all better.

The improvement wasn't huge, but it was enough to get him pumped.

Now, his energy sea was only half full. If he could fill it up completely, his strength would go through a major upgrade.

Knowing this, James felt way more chill.

With inner vision helping with repairs, he figured it wouldn't take long to completely heal the scars on his face. Then he could go back to see Jennifer.

He wondered how Jennifer was doing now. Did she miss him?

Or had she moved on and started a new life?

With these thoughts swirling in his head, James lay down and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Three days flew by, and on the fourth day, James suddenly got a call from Edwin.
