Chapter 56 I'm Actually Quite Capable

James stared at John, eventually giving up the idea of making a move and deciding to play it safe.

If he acted now, even if he could quickly take care of John and the two other men, he couldn't guarantee Jennifer's safety completely. The knife in John's hand was so sharp that even a light stroke could cause immense harm to Jennifer. If John became desperate and actually harmed Jennifer, it would be disastrous.

So he continued to pretend to be afraid, "John, you are breaking the law. If the police find out, you'll end up in jail!"

"Who the hell cares about going to jail," John's eyes flashed with fierceness, disdainfully saying, "Do you think I'm afraid of going to jail today? Let me tell you, I've already gone all in. Even if it means death, I'll drag you down with me!"

At that moment, they heard the sound of a vehicle coming from another area. One of the men impatiently said, "Stop wasting time with him; quickly take them to a secluded place. This is not the place to act."

Another man added, "Exactly. If someone comes by later, it will be trouble. Get rid of them quickly. I've lived this long and never had a chance to experience such beauty. I can't wait, Hahaha."

They looked at Jennifer Johnson lecherously, practically drooling.

If this wasn't a parking lot with people around, they would have already violated Jennifer! They were violent criminals with a strong sense of revenge against society, not afraid of breaking the law. So when they saw Jennifer's photo, they immediately agreed to team up with John.

John nodded in agreement, saying, "Yes, take them to a hidden place and have some fun!" Then he ominously addressed Jennifer, "Jennifer, you should have accepted my pursuit back then. I would have treated you gently. Now, you’re going to experience the wrath of three strong men! I can’t wait to see you submit under me.”

Jennifer paled with fear, trembling uncontrollably, but she didn’t dare to resist. John’s sharp knife was at her throat; any movement could result in her being cut. She was terrified.

She desperately looked at James, hoping he would step up like a man to rescue her, but James was also just scared, trembling.

She felt hopeless, truly hopeless.

Why did she marry such a useless man like James in the first place?

"John, if it's money you want, I'll give it to you. Just let us go," Jennifer said, trying to suppress her fear.

John coldly replied, “I want the money and you. Do you think a bit of money can compensate for all the effort I put into you these past two years? Hmph! But if you serve me well, I might consider letting you go.”

Hearing this, Jennifer became even more frightened. Several times, she wanted to take a stand, but she lacked the courage. She looked at James, already pale and trembling, and felt furious. If only she had divorced James that day, why did she wait until now.

James and Jennifer were tied up and thrown into the back of a van. One of the men drove the van while John followed, driving James's Maserati.

Jennifer was pressed against James, feeling disgusted. She couldn't help but mutter, "Are you stupid? I hinted so clearly on the phone, didn't you get it? I must have been a fool to marry you!"

James glanced ahead and whispered, "Listen, when we get to a secluded place, I'll handle them, but I need your cooperation..."

"Shut up," Jennifer interrupted, full of disdain. "At this point, you're still trying to act tough in front of me? When John was bullying me earlier, you didn't dare say a word, almost wetting your pants! James, you're really some husband!"

Jennifer was angry, pouring her frustration on James for several minutes until one of the men in front heard and sternly glared at her, "Quiet!"

She immediately stopped speaking, but her gaze towards James still held anger. Unable to contain herself, she kicked James hard and cursed, "You useless waste!"

James remained silent, focusing most of his attention on freeing himself from the ropes behind his back.

Seeing his indifferent demeanor, Jennifer felt even more contempt and fear, tears of despair streaming down her face.

Soon, the van came to a stop. James looked out the window and saw that they were indeed in a remote area, at an abandoned factory in the suburbs. There was no one around for miles. Even if Jennifer screamed her lungs out, no one would hear; it truly was a place where prayers went unanswered.

A faint smile crept onto James's lips. This place was perfect for him; he could discipline John without any reservations.

Jennifer's expression turned even more desperate at the sight of the place. Her body trembled more violently as she muttered, "It's over, it's over..."

James, trying to reassure her, gently touched her and said, "Don't worry, I'm here, and you won't be harmed."

But this statement only agitated Jennifer, who was on the brink of a breakdown. She screamed, "James! Shut up! At this point, you're still pretending! Have you no shame? You've been with me for five years. Have you ever done anything for me? Anything at all?!"

Jennifer was so furious that even the two men in the car were startled. They then chuckled, "Haha, internal strife is brewing."

James remained silent. He had already freed two-thirds of the ropes binding him. With one more effort, he could break free and easily resolve the current situation.

But upon hearing Jennifer's words, he hesitated. Looking at her, he smiled, "What do you want me to do for you?"

Unfortunately, Jennifer didn't see the hint of sadness in his eyes and continued angrily, "If you're a real man, go fight them! But you won’t, right? You’re too scared!"

"Alright," James nodded, but Jennifer didn't take him seriously. She believed James was just talking tough, deepening her disgust for him.

John smoothly parked the Maserati next to the van, excitement evident on his face as he stepped out. "Awesome, such an outstanding man like me should drive a Maserati."

"Hey, you two, get out!" The driver said ominously, his gaze lingering on Jennifer's graceful figure.

Seeing James and Jennifer not moving, he grew irritated. "Damn it, get out, didn't you hear me! I'll count to three, two, one..."

At that moment, James suddenly acted. He swiftly kicked the man in the stomach, sending him flying.

Jennifer stared in disbelief.

"I forgot to tell you, I'm actually quite capable, no need to fight them," James said with a bright smile.
