Chapter 366 A Dozen People Kneel Down, A Shocking Scene

"What?" Kieran was so scandalised by what he just heard that he could barely get a word out. His face went ghostly white, and his legs started shaking like a leaf.

It was all because of what Dorian had just dropped on him. James' wife? And he had just hit on her? He was totally screwed.

Seeing Kieran's reaction, Dorian couldn't help but feel smug. No matter how tough Kieran acted, he was still scared shitless of James.

"Yeah, Jennifer is James' wife. They've been hitched for five years. And you, Kieran, you just flirted with her. If James finds out..." Dorian trailed off, chuckling.

Kieran was genuinely freaked out now. He'd always dreamed of being in James' inner circle. But now, by some dumb luck, he'd hit on James' wife, Jennifer. He was toast. Just thinking about James' ruthless ways made Kieran's blood run cold. He immediately dropped to his knees in front of Jennifer.

"Jennifer, I'm so sorry. I didn't know who you were and I messed up. Please, don't hold it against me, and for the love of God, don't tell James. I'm begging you," Kieran pleaded.

Everyone was stunned by his behavior, even Dorian. He knew Kieran was scared of James, but he never thought he'd be so terrified that hearing James' name made him drop to his knees in front of Jennifer.

Jennifer, Dennis, Kaitlyn, and their whole family were all in shock, taking forever to process what just happened. Especially Dennis, he was beyond floored.

'First off, Kael, the manager of the Golden Moon Hotel, makes a cool million a year, which is already impressive. This thug named Quillon is someone even Kael fears. But this guy Kieran, who even Quillon is scared of, must be a major player,' Dennis thought.

But Kieran's behaviour was next-level shocking. Even though he knew James was powerful, this was hard to wrap his head around.

Kael was even more freaked out and confused, shaking slightly with excitement. He actually knew more than Dennis. He didn't know Kieran personally, but he'd heard of him and learnt Kieran was a real badass. Even the owner of the Golden Moon Hotel treated Kieran with respect and caution. But now, this powerful guy was kneeling in front of Jennifer just because she was James' woman.

Kael remembered that Dennis' son-in-law was indeed James. Wasn't he supposed to be a loser? Two years ago, Dennis had even complained about James. In short, Kael was totally confused, his mind a complete mess.

Jennifer, on the other hand, was the least shocked. She looked at Kieran kneeling in front of her, not moving an inch, her eyes slowly welling up. Memories of James and everything he'd done over the years flashed before her eyes.

Once again, James had saved her. Even though he wasn't by her side, just being his wife was enough to make a powerful figure in society kneel in fear. In an instant, her heart was overwhelmed with a whirlwind of emotions.

Dennis finally snapped out of it. He stared at Kieran, his voice trembling, "What's your deal with James?"

Kieran had already pieced it together—Dennis had to be James' father-in-law. He quickly and respectfully said, "I'm Kieran, one of James' guys. I didn't know who Jennifer was and messed up big time. It's all on me. Please, you gotta explain this to James, or I'm toast."

After saying that, he gritted his teeth and slapped himself hard, trying to show he was genuinely sorry. He then shot a look at his crew, "What are you standing around for? Get on your knees and apologize to Jennifer, now!"

His dozen or so goons didn't dare to hesitate. They quickly dropped to their knees, following Kieran's lead in apologizing to Jennifer.

The whole scene was mind-blowing to everyone else. Kael was too freaked out to say anything, feeling a mix of fear and envy towards Dennis.

As for Quillon and the others, they were scared out of their minds. 'Kieran just flirted with Jennifer and he's already on his knees, slapping himself. I flirted with her way more. Am I gonna get beaten to death?' Quillon thought.

Everyone's eyes were on Jennifer, waiting for her to say something, to forgive them. But Jennifer stood there, not moving a muscle. If it weren't for her eyes shifting, they might've thought she was frozen.

No one had a clue how tangled up Jennifer's feelings were at that moment. She was flooded with memories, pain, regret, sweetness, pride, sorrow, and excitement—a total emotional rollercoaster.

Seeing her not saying anything, Kieran thought she was pissed and slapped himself even harder. His goons, seeing Kieran going all out, didn't dare hold back either and started smacking themselves hard, their faces soon swelling up.

This scene had Dennis and Leopold scared stiff. These were all tough, ruthless thugs. Normally, any one of them could easily kick them out. But now they were all kneeling and slapping themselves. It was terrifying.

Finally, after Kieran and his crew had slapped themselves fifty times, their faces swollen and feeling dizzy, Jennifer spoke, "Enough."

Hearing this, they were instantly relieved. They were really afraid Jennifer wouldn't forgive them and make them keep hitting themselves.

Then, Jennifer pointed at Quillon, who was cowering under the table, and said with a cold expression, "He tried to assault me earlier. I'm very angry."

Hearing this, Kieran was instantly furious. He and his goons rushed over and beat Quillon senseless, punching and kicking him until he was a bloody mess.

"Jennifer, are you satisfied with this?" Kieran asked, his attitude extremely respectful. He squatted down, not daring to let Jennifer look up at him.

Jennifer didn't say anything, just waved her hand and said one word, "Leave."

Kieran was stunned but didn't dare say more, afraid of making Jennifer angrier, and quickly left.

After Kieran took Quillon and the others away, Jennifer didn't say a word, turned on her heels, marched into the restroom and closed the behind her.

In that enclosed space, alone, she couldn't hold back anymore. Tears started streaming down her face.
