Chapter 81 Jennifer's Transformation

James froze in place, his expression became complex. Jennifer didn't want to divorce him? This truly surprised him.

Jennifer had always seemed to dislike him, so why wouldn't she want a divorce now? Could it be that Jennifer had developed some feelings for him...?

As soon as this thought arose, he suppressed it. It was impossible. He knew Jennifer's personality well. She wasn't someone who would easily develop feelings, especially not for him, her despised husband of five years.

Perhaps she had just grown accustomed to his presence and was reluctant to let go. After all, any couple who stayed for five years would develop some emotions for each other. Despite Jennifer's foul temper, she was actually quite kind-natured.

Jennifer didn't say anything more after that. She was exhausted, and her nerves were taut, so she fell into a deep sleep until morning.

Since they were in a single room with only a large 5.9-foot bed, James didn't climb into the bed.

After taking a shower, he rested on the nearby sofa. He was quite tired, having spent the day treating a patient at Carlos Green's restaurant, which had drained some of his energy.

Moreover, he had consumed a lot of alcohol in the evening, especially when he removed the effects of Jennifer's medication, which had further depleted his energy. Now, feeling relaxed, he quickly fell asleep.

The next day, Jennifer woke up first. She opened her eyes, feeling groggy, and realized she wasn't at the KTV but in a hotel. Instantly, she jolted awake, sitting up abruptly!

Oh no, had she really been taken advantage of by Jonathon?!

In an instant, tears welled up in her eyes, her heart aching with despair and pain.

Then she noticed something was off. Hastily pulling back the quilt, she found her clothes intact, albeit a bit disheveled, but there were no signs of being assaulted. Moreover, she checked her body and felt no discomfort.

It seemed she hadn't been sexually assaulted after all.

Feeling relieved, she let out a deep sigh of relief.

“Thank goodness, everything was fine!” she exclaimed.

She soon tried to recall how she ended up in the hotel and who had brought her...

At that moment, she saw James curled up in the corner of the sofa on the right, and she froze.

Memory flowing like a flood swirled in her mind.

James had saved her, and in the end, and eventually, when the medication took effect, she had done something that crossed the line with James!

But why had she passed out?

Looking at James sleeping, Jennifer's gaze softened. She found that James wasn't as detestable as before, and upon closer inspection, she realized he was quite handsome, with a clean and delightful face.

She recalled the words James had said to her last, and her emotions became even more complicated. She hadn't expected James, even in that situation, to not lay a hand on her. It wasn't because she lacked allure, but because James didn't want to hurt her.

At that moment, she was truly moved, and she became even more certain that she couldn't divorce James.

Getting up from the bed, she took the blanket and went to cover James. However, as soon as she approached him, James woke up, opened his eyes, and asked, "What are you doing?"

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Jennifer replied, "I'm covering you with the blanket."

Surprised by the gesture, James said, "Thank you, but I'm not cold. You keep it."

"Am I that scary?" Jennifer said somewhat ruefully, seeing James's discomfort.
Even though he didn't voice it, James had thought to himself, 'You've been cursing me out since the day we got married.'

Standing up, he said, "I'm already well-rested. Are you hungry? I'll order breakfast for you."

Jennifer suggested, "Let's eat together."

James answered, "Sure."

Meanwhile, in the luxurious private room at JG KTV, Jonathon slowly opened his eyes, waking up.

He had consumed too much alcohol the night before, and now his head was pounding, his body feeling extremely uncomfortable.

Shaking his head, he found a smelly foot resting right in front of him. Immediately annoyed, he forcefully pushed the foot away.

But as soon as he exerted force, he felt a sharp pain in his waist!

It felt like being pricked by needles, and the pain made him scream in agony, gasping for air.

"Ah!!!" Jonathon cried.

His scream woke up the others in the room, who opened their eyes groggily.

One of the directors asked, "Where am I?"

Another complained, "My headache is killing me."

Someone questioned, " Dennis, you're here too... I remember now, weren't we drinking last night? How did we all pass out?"

They had all been collectively knocked out by James the night before. It took them a while to fully wake up and recall the events of the previous night.

Someone asked, "Where's Dr. Johnson? Why isn't she here? What happened last night, how did I get so drunk?"

Another remarked, "Damn it, who said Dr. Johnson's husband was a waste? This guy can really hold his liquor. He managed to knock all of us down!"

One added, "This guy is pretending to be weak, and then struck us hard!"

They all grumbled discontentedly.

Jonathon remembered as well. He was clenching with anger, his well-laid plans had failed, and now the prey had escaped!

The pain in his waist made him even more furious, almost driving him to madness.

"This is outrageous! This is outrageous!" he cursed through gritted teeth, his eyes flashing with a murderous intent.

Seeing his state, no one dared to complain further, fearing Jonathon might unleash his anger towards them.

"Dennis! What’s wrong with you? You said Jennifer's husband was a waste, but he managed to knock all of us down!" Jonathon pointed at Dennis, venting his anger on him.

Dennis felt uncomfortable but didn't dare to retort, only nodding and bowing obediently. Deep down, he was puzzled. James was known as a waste in the hospital, so how could he drink so much hard liquor?

Last night, with all of them combined, they could have made an elephant drunk, yet they still couldn't outdrink James. It was truly baffling.

After cursing for five minutes, Jonathon felt a bit better. He headed to the bathroom, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't excrete urine. Applying a bit of force to excrete caused excruciating pain in his lower abdomen.

This was a situation he had never encountered before!

Urination, such a simple act, took him three minutes to complete. Even then, he was drenched in sweat from the pain.

This scared him. He had never experienced anything like this before.

He couldn't care less about investigating the events of the previous night and rushed to the hospital for a check-up.

The results left him pale with shock!

It turned out to be prostate function failure. Not only did he have difficulty urinating, but his abilities in that area were also lost!

He couldn't accept this reality. In a fit of rage, he blamed the machinery at the hospital, demanding another examination, but the results remained the same.

In an instant, he was truly panicked and terrified!

This wasn't a minor ailment; it affected his future and his happiness in bed. He couldn't afford for anything to go wrong!

That very day, he was rushed to the largest hospital in the province for treatment.
However, the response from the major hospital left him in despair.

Prostate dysfunction and failure of this kind were untreatable. Even surgery wouldn't suffice; only medication could slow down the decline. In other words, Jonathon was finished.
