Chapter 95 Let's Have a Baby
James sensed something was off with her and curiously asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
Jennifer shook her head and said, "No, I'm just a little tipsy."
James felt even more puzzled, "But you didn't drink tonight, did you?"
Jennifer was speechless and cursed inwardly, what a nerd!
Seeing Jennifer silent, James couldn't figure it out. Did he offend her somehow? Why was she suddenly mad at him? It's true what they say, a woman's heart is as deep as the ocean.
James sighed.
Back home, Dennis and Kaitlyn were already asleep. To avoid waking them up, James and Jennifer moved quietly.
After showering and returning to the room, James took out a mat from the closet, preparing to sleep on the floor. At that moment, Jennifer said, "Don't sleep on the floor tonight, sleep on the bed."
James was stunned and asked, "What about you? Are you going to sleep on the floor?"
Jennifer chuckled at his cluelessness, and replied in a playful tone, "Why would I sleep on the floor when there's a bed?" Rolling her eyes.
James was even more confused. For the past five years, no matter how he begged, Jennifer never let him sleep on the bed. It had become ingrained in his mind.
"It's okay, I'll sleep on the floor," James said as he shook his head.
Jennifer was getting annoyed. She glared at James and said, "I told you to come up and sleep, why are you hesitating so much!"
James still didn't grasp Jennifer's meaning. He carefully asked, "Darling, what did I do to upset you? Can you give me a hint?"
Seeing James's uneasy look, Jennifer felt guilty once again. She realized she had been treating James poorly for the past five years, which made him so afraid of her.
Jennifer softened her expression and said, "Don't worry, you didn't upset me. I just think it's been five years since we got married, you should sleep on the bed."
Upon hearing this, James's heart raced. Was Jennifer finally accepting him?!
He still felt uneasy, almost surreal.
"Dear, are you serious? Don't you think I'm a loser?" he asked, doubtful.
"Not at all, come up, the floor is cold," she gently answered.
James felt surreal. Since Jennifer had said so, he didn't want to be overly reluctant.
Except for that one day when he lost control of his emotions and pinned Jennifer down, he had never slept on this bed. Now, he could lie on the bed openly. His feelings were complex—nervous, excited, nostalgic, and a bit anticipatory.
This bed was indeed comfortable.
"Why are you sleeping so far away? Afraid I'll eat you?" Jennifer poked James's arm and said softly.
With that statement, her heartbeat quickened, cheeks flushed.
While showering earlier, she made sure to clean herself thoroughly and mentally prepared herself. Despite being married to James for five years, handing her body over to him all at once made her nervous.
She had a strong sense of cleanliness and a natural resistance to such things. Capitalizing on the emotions stirred up towards James that evening, she made the decision to offer her body to him.
She feared that if she didn't do it tonight, she might never muster the courage to do so.
James finally sensed the situation. He was equally nervous; it was a challenge for him.
Jennifer, his wife, had been by his side day and night but they had never shared a bed for five years. Everything between them was familiar, yet this familiarity only heightened their nervousness and excitement.
James shifted towards the middle of the bed, leaving a gap of one foot between him and Jennifer. They shared the same blanket, and he could clearly feel the warmth and fragrance emanating from her body.
This unprecedented ambiguity made his heart race, and his body grew warm.
As a vigorous man, it was impossible not to feel anything.
On the contrary, James felt a lot...
The room suddenly fell silent, only the sound of their breathing and occasional car noises from outside could be heard.
The atmosphere was filled with ambiguity at that moment.
Jennifer softly said, "James."
James gently replied, "Yes?"
She asked, "Are you asleep?"
James a bit restless, replied, "...Not yet."
Jennifer's body shifted slightly, and she said again, "Thank you for tonight, I'm happy."
"I am happy that you're happy," James replied and smiled happily.
"I've been hard on you before, I'm sorry," Jennifer's tone was sincere, hinting at some genuine guilt.
James remained silent for a moment and said with a bitter smile, "No, you're not wrong, I've just been too weak."
"You seem... different?" Jennifer asked. Indeed, James had changed, as if he had become a different person, no longer weak but more manly. Jennifer couldn't understand why a person could undergo such a drastic change in an instant.
James anticipated her question and replied, "Is that so?"
Jennifer responded, "Mm."
The conversation fell into silence again, and Jennifer didn't press further. She sensed that James had a secret.
She bit her lip, speaking even softer than before, almost in a whisper. If the room hadn't been so quiet, James wouldn't have heard her.
Jennifer plucked up the courage and said, "My parents pressured me again today. They want a grandchild."
After saying this, Jennifer blushed intensely, her heart beating wildly, ready to jump out of her chest at any moment.
James, with keen hearing, caught the sound of her heartbeat.
In fact, he wasn't faring any better. Jennifer's words were a clear hint... no, not a hint, it was a clear statement!
His face turned red, feeling even more nervous than before.
His inner fire was fueled, burning even more fiercely.
His throat felt dry at that moment.
"Oh," James was at a loss for words.
Jennifer was frustrated. 'This idiot, I've practically spelled it out for him, and he's still indifferent. Does he expect me to make the first move? Come on, I'm a girl!' she thought.
It wasn't that James was being obtuse, but he was unsure if Jennifer was testing him. After all, this wasn't typical of Jennifer's character.
After waiting for two minutes and seeing no response from James, Jennifer grew truly annoyed. She gritted her teeth, mustered her courage, and moved directly next to James, pressing against his arm!
Instantly, the atmosphere became even more ambiguous.
Jennifer boldly said, "James, let's have a baby."
