Chapter 341 Encounter with Walter

Walter's irritating voice was dripping with anger and bossiness.

No way was Emberlyn gonna hand the phone to James. If James didn't play along and told Walter he was not her boyfriend and pushed Walter to keep chasing her, she'd be toast.

Knowing James, she was sure he'd totally pull something like that.

"Sorry, you don't get to talk to my boyfriend. We're beat and need to crash. Later." Emberlyn snapped at Walter.

She didn't give Walter a chance to respond, hung up, and immediately turned off her phone, tossing it aside. "That felt good," she said.

James, all calm, asked, "Aren't you worried he'll tell your folks?"

"Let him. Saves me from their nagging," Emberlyn shrugged. "They already know I like you."

James was at a loss for words. "Let's stop here. I need to head back."

"No way!" Emberlyn shot back. "I hardly ever come all the way from Rainforest City, and we haven't even had any fun yet."

"What's so great about Lindwood City? We've known each other forever and done it all. If you wanna have fun, find someone else," James said.

"Who said we've done it all? There's still plenty of adult fun we haven't tried," Emberlyn said with a cheeky grin, clearly hinting at something naughty.

Emberlyn was getting bolder, flirting with James every chance she got.

"Sir, let me out here," James said, wanting to end the convo with Emberlyn.

"You can't get out," Emberlyn shot back. The driver, caught in the middle, had to slow down.

In the end, after Emberlyn's nagging, James gave in and agreed to walk around and grab a bite with her. He was hungry, too, after all.

Meanwhile, Walter was fuming after Emberlyn hung up on him. In a rage, he smashed his phone. "I'm so pissed off," Walter roared, shaking with anger.

Next to him, besides his bodyguard, were two young guys, one chubby and the other tall and skinny. From their looks and swagger, they were clearly loaded.

"Walter, what got you so riled up?" the chubby one asked, curious.

These two weren't from Lindwood City but from other cities in Serenity Province. They knew Walter and had come to suck up to him.

"If someone's messing with you, we'll get back at them," the tall one added.

Walter took a deep breath, trying to calm down but failing. He gritted his teeth and said, "Don't even get me started. A man actually dared to steal my girl!"

The two dudes were floored. "No way, who’s got the guts to steal your girl, Walter? He must have a death wish!"

They were big shots in Serenity Province with their own businesses, so they knew how high up Walter was. Even if their family businesses doubled, they couldn't touch Walter's level. And someone dared to mess with his girl? They couldn't wrap their heads around it.

"Is there anyone named James in the industry around here?" Walter asked, frowning.

He couldn't just sit back anymore. He had to find this James guy himself. How dare he steal the girl Walter had his eyes on.

The two guys racked their brains. "James? Can't think of anyone by that name."

The other one shook his head. "Nope, doesn't ring a bell."

Walter was annoyed. "You can't remember?"

One of them quickly said, "If there is such a person, we can definitely track him down. Don't worry, Walter."

The other one chimed in, "Yeah, Walter, if he's in Serenity Province, we'll find him."

Walter thought, 'If I wait any longer, Emberlyn might end up in bed with him.' The idea of his dream girl with another guy made his heart ache.

Walter had seen plenty of beautiful women, but none had ever hooked him like Emberlyn. Sure, her looks caught his eye first—she was drop-dead gorgeous. But as he got to know her, it was her personality that really drew him in.

Every other woman he'd met was a pushover, easy to win over. But Emberlyn? She didn't give a damn about him and never treated him nicely. Maybe he was a glutton for punishment, but the more she pushed him away, the more he wanted her.

Plus, the Jackson family was a big deal, too. A marriage between the Jenkins and Jackson families would be a powerhouse alliance. In his mind, Emberlyn was already his wife, and he had to win her over!

Now, this James guy showed up. Walter couldn't let that slide. If he found James, he'd make sure to teach him a lesson.

Walter and the two rich guys decided to hit up a fancy restaurant. They had some wine and planned to see what else they could do for fun later.

But just as Walter walked into the high-end restaurant and found a seat, his eyes locked onto something. He stared in one direction, his face lighting up with excitement.

The next moment, he walked towards that direction, grinning.

The two guys with him were confused for a second, then exchanged looks and followed him.

Soon, Walter walked up to a table and said, "Emberlyn, wow, what a coincidence! We really are meant to bump into each other here."
