Chapter 501 James Stops Acting

Jennifer frowned, unable to hide her restlessness. "Now that I'm here, can you let my husband go?"

Calvin wagged his index finger, looking like a jerk, and said, "Dr. Johnson, I'm just being kind by bringing you here to rest."

Jennifer's face changed, and she said, "Calvin! You promised me that if I came with you, you would let my husband go!"

"Did I? Did you mishear me?" Calvin said with a smirk, his eyes roaming over Jennifer's body. Seeing her alluring figure, her face flushed with anger, her breathing rapid, causing her chest to heave, he swallowed hard, clearly tempted.

He hadn't had sex in several days and was feeling pent-up. In this situation, Jennifer's vulnerability was incredibly enticing, and his desire surged.

A bold idea popped into Calvin‘s mind.

He waved his hand, signaling his subordinates in the room to leave.

One person frowned and said, "Dr. Allen, Mr. Lewis instructed us not to touch Jennifer before he arrives."

Calvin said irritably, "I know, you don't need to remind me. Just get out."

Seeing Calvin's firm attitude, they didn't argue further. Their task was complete, and the rest was none of their business.

Calvin wasn't stupid enough to actually touch Jennifer, but it was hard for him to remain indifferent with such a charming beauty in front of him.

In any case, Brent's desire was for Jennifer's virginity, and as long as her hymen remained intact, he likely wouldn't have much to say even if he found out. Besides, before engaging in any sexual activity with Jennifer, Brent would undoubtedly ensure that Jennifer cleansed her body thoroughly.

This way, Calvin could sleep with Jennifer before Brent, especially in front of James, which would be the most thrilling thing for Calvin.

With this realization, Calvin showed a lecherous smile, smacked his lips, rubbed his hands, and walked step by step towards Jennifer, saying, "Dr. Johnson, I've had my eye on you for a long time. A top-notch beauty like you should be played with by men; that's your destiny."

Seeing his expression, Jennifer's face turned cold with even more disgust. She quickly retreated and said coldly, "Calvin! I'm warning you, don't do anything stupid! I've already called the police, and they'll be here any minute!"

"Really? I'm so scared," Calvin said mockingly. "I forgot to tell you, I have a signal jammer in my car. Your phone has no signal. How did you call the police?"

Jennifer's face turned grim. In reality, she hadn't called the police.

She looked at James, anxious. 'Why isn't he waking up? Am I really going to be bullied in front of James?'

At that moment, James, who was lying on the ground, suddenly opened his eyes. As if pulled by an invisible force, he stood up straight and dusted off his clothes.

The sudden movement startled Calvin. He turned around and saw that James was awake and staring at him.

Calvin was stunned. Wasn't James supposed to be unconscious? With the amount of drugs used, even an elephant would be knocked out. James should have been asleep for at least two days and nights.

"Dr. Allen, sorry about earlier," James said with a simple smile.

Calvin frowned, his face darkening. "James, were you pretending to be drunk?"

"How did I do? Wasn't my acting convincing?" James said with a smile, walking towards Jennifer.

Jennifer relaxed. She gently pinched James's waist and said coquettishly, "Why did you wake up so late? I almost got taken advantage of."

James held her hand and said, "I was just playing along with him. Waking up too soon wouldn't be fun."

Jennifer thought about it and found it made some sense. Seeing the calmness on James's face, without a trace of tension, filled her with an immense sense of security. Her heart was full; this was the James she loved the most.

She snuggled up to James, her eyes full of affection.

Seeing them still flirting in the face of danger, Calvin's face darkened even more. He laughed angrily, "Alright, very good, very good!"

"James, I don't know where you get your confidence from, but do you think I'm just an ordinary person you can bully?" Calvin began to release his martial artist aura, staring at James mockingly.

"I forgot to tell you, I'm not an ordinary person, nor the urban white-collar worker I appear to be. I'm a martial artist. I can kill ten of you with one finger, understand?"

"Now, if you kneel and beg for mercy, I might spare your life if I'm in a good mood. Otherwise, you'll  be done, and you definitely don't want to be tortured by me." Calvin stared at James, extremely cruel.

It was Jennifer's first time encountering a martial artist. Feeling the aura, she immediately found it overwhelming, her face turning pale.

James held her close, his arm around her shoulder, and released his own aura, countering Calvin's pressure. Jennifer immediately felt much better. If she had to describe it, it was like she had fallen into an ice cave under Calvin's pressure, but when James held her, it was like being near a warm stove, instantly warming her up.

Calvin felt James's aura and his face changed. He blurted out, "You're a martial artist, too? That's impossible!"

Calvin was indeed shocked.

Over the past few days, he had observed and even checked James multiple times, never sensing any true energy fluctuations. How could he be a martial artist?

One must understand that there were very few martial artists nationwide; the probability was exceedingly low.

James was just a nobody; how could he be a martial artist?

But the fact was right in front of Calvin, and he had to believe he had misjudged. James was a martial artist.

After a brief moment of surprise, Calvin recovered. "So that's why you were so brave, daring to take such a risk. It turns out you're a martial artist yourself."
