Chapter 179 Jennifer's Major Decision

Jennifer showed her skills with this example, and now those who were originally skeptical believed it. They flocked in to seek treatment.
The clinic became bustling with activity.
Seeing that James had managed to turn the situation around, Jared felt disappointed and cursed heavily before turning to leave.
After he turned, James, who was assisting Jennifer, suddenly looked up, squinting at Jared's departing figure with a meaningful expression. He had long noticed Jared's presence but didn’t point it out.
"What are you looking at?" Jennifer noticed his unusual behavior and asked curiously.
James shook his head, choosing not to mention Jared's departure. "Nothing, let's continue with the consultations."
By the end of the day, the Hall of Benevolent Medicine had diagnosed over a hundred patients and had revenues exceeding twenty thousand dollars, which was quite impressive.
Fortunately, aside from the first case of food poisoning involving a little boy, the other cases were minor ailments that Jennifer could handle on her own.
It wasn't until the evening that they finished seeing all the patients. Jennifer was exhausted and collapsed lazily on the sofa, panting for breath.
In this position, her ample bosom strained against her shirt's buttons, a sight that made James's heart race.
Jennifer quickly noticed James's gaze and immediately crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at him. "Where are you looking?"
James reluctantly averted his gaze and muttered softly. "We're already married; why are you still caring about these trivial things?"
Jennifer happened to hear this and was momentarily stunned. She then bit her lip and released her arms. Yes, they had been married for five years; why should she be afraid of him looking?
Moreover, if it hadn't been for James stepping in to resolve the situation today, the opening ceremony would have been a laughingstock.
Thinking back, not just today, but several times James had come to her rescue. Unconsciously, James had changed a lot. He was no longer the useless good-for-nothing he used to be but had become a man who could shelter her from the storm.
Looking at James's face, a thought crossed Jennifer's mind. Should she start having a normal marital relationship with James? After all, they had been married for a long time.
Previously, she had refused to have a sexual relationship with James because she looked down on him. But now, James not only had superior medical skills but also knew many influential people. He was more than qualified to be her husband, so what was there to hold back?
Thinking of these, Jennefer resolved.
James was unaware of Jennifer's thoughts and quietly went about tidying up.
In the following days, the clinic's business continued to thrive, with a steady stream of patients every day. Jennifer had to hire additional help.
A week passed, and the clinic's reputation grew, almost rivaling HC Medical Center. Jennifer, as the chief physician, was not only beautiful but also highly skilled. Although she was usually a bit aloof and didn't smile much, people still came here for her beauty and exceptional medical skills. What's more, the fees of Jeniffer's clinic compared to other clinics were lower, which naturally boosted the clinic's reputation.
James had become the man behind Jennifer. He appeared as her assistant but stepped in to handle the tricky cases that Jennifer couldn't solve. This bolstered Jennifer's reputation, and even those who had doubted her began to admire her.
Jennifer observed James's efforts silently, and though she said nothing outwardly, she was deeply moved.
Today was her ovulation period, and she made a significant decision she planned to give James a huge surprise! This decision was so important that it left her distracted all day. She was so absent-minded that James found it odd. After the clinic closed, he asked gently, "Jennifer, are you alright?"
Jennifer, lost in thoughts of what might happen tonight, was startled by James's voice.
"What? What did you say?"
James rolled his eyes and said with some concern, "You seem really tired. You've been distracted all day. Maybe you should take a break tomorrow. I can handle the clinic for you."
Jennifer snapped back to reality, a blush spreading across her face, her heart beating faster. She tried to appear calm and said, "No need, I can work as usual tomorrow."
Suddenly, she reconsidered and shook her head, saying, "Uh, taking a day off is fine too, I may get very tired tomorrow."
She stuck out her tongue, thinking to herself that if she did end up having sex with James tonight, she probably wouldn't be able to walk properly the next day. Taking a day off seemed like a good idea. She had heard that a woman's first time could be very painful; she wondered if that was true.
Her mind raced again, a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
'It seemed that if the man was gentle enough, it could be a pleasant experience... Oh dear! What am I thinking?' She quickly interrupted her thoughts.
Jennifer's face burned with embarrassment, and she felt very uncomfortable.
Unbeknownst to her, James noticed her reactions. He found it strange; was this really the cold wife he knew? She seemed more like a lovestruck girl.
James asked with concern once more, "Jennifer, you really don't need to push yourself so hard. Just treat it like a normal day at the hospital. Stay calm and don't put so much pressure on yourself."
Facing James's concern, Jennifer rolled her eyes inwardly and cursed silently, "James, you fool, you know nothing. Don't act smart. It's not just because of the clinic that I'm like this!"
Of course, she couldn't say that out loud. She just hummed in response and said, "Let's go home."
Seeing that Jennifer still didn't want to talk, James felt a bit helpless but didn't press further.
He had no idea that Jennifer was planning a big surprise for him. If he knew what she was thinking, he would be utterly shocked.
Today, Dennis and Kaitlyn were not at home; they had gone to visit relatives.
Since the opening ceremony, where they had gained some fame, those relatives had changed their attitude towards Dennis and Kaitlyn, shifting from cold and aloof to friendly and flattering.
As a result, only James and Jennifer were left at home.
It was precisely because Dennis and Kaitlyn were not at home that Jennifer dared to make this decision.
After dinner, Jennifer watched TV in the living room for a while before going to her room to take a bath.
Since Jennifer had been out of sorts all day, James didn't pay much attention to her unusual behavior. He stayed in the living room watching the news until around ten o'clock when he finally went to the bedroom to shower and sleep.
