Chapter 50: Surprisingly Familiar
"Oh my..." had a pained expression after hearing this, and a trace of fear flashed across his face. "With Harmony's temperament, hearing this will surely make her furious."
At this moment, another sharp cry came from upstairs, revealing a heartbreaking pain. It was evident that Todd's daughter was enduring immense suffering.
"Dad, why don’t we give it a try?" Michael said in a deep voice.
Todd nodded and sighed, saying, "Let's first seek Harmony's consent. You know her temperament."
"Yeah, I'll go ask her," Michael said.
At this point, a member of the Brown family spoke up, "But Harmony already has an engagement with the Perry family. If the Perry family finds out that a strange man has seen her body, they might get very angry."

Todd made a decision, nodding firmly, then walked up to James, "Dr. Smith, we're counting on you."
James smiled, "No problem."
Heading upstairs, James saw two maids standing outside the door, their eyes red with grievance and guilt. "Sir, the young lady refuses to eat and has driven us out."
Todd sighed, not blaming them, but gestured for them to step back. Then, he lightly knocked on the door, "Harmony, open the door. Dad has found a doctor for you who can cure your strange illness."
There was no response from inside the room.
A hint of sadness flashed in Todd's eyes, followed by a forced smile, "Sweetheart, I know you're in great pain right now. But don’t panic. This time, I have brought a miracle doctor. It's Dr. Smith who cured me last time. He said he's confident in curing your strange illness. Please open the door, okay?"
Still, there was no response. Michael couldn't help but say, "Sweetheart, please open the door. Dr. Smith is truly a miracle doctor. He can cure your strange illness..."
Finally, a voice came from the room, interrupting Michael, "Please leave."
The voice sounded calm at first, but upon closer inspection, it carried a tremor, full of despair and pain.
Most importantly, the voice no longer sounded quite human, extremely sharp. With his keen hearing, James caught a hissing sound resembling a snake's hiss, which was eerie.

Upon hearing this, Todd's face turned pale, and the others were equally saddened.

Other members of the Brown family also started pleading, deeply concerned.

Other members of the Brown family also joined in persuading.
