Chapter 106 It's Even More Exciting

On the other side, Herman and his team were steering public opinion to meet their goals. Once they had everything under control, Herman headed to Elizabeth's office.

Elizabeth and Rebecca were watching the live stream of the variety show. The comments had completely flipped—from criticizing Emily to supporting her. Emily's performance in this episode was solid.

When Herman walked in, Elizabeth smiled and said, "Have a seat!"

Herman, trying to keep his excitement in check, sat down and updated them on their progress. Elizabeth nodded approvingly. "Well done."

Herman hesitated, then asked, "Ms. Clark, you had us control public opinion to pressure Clark Entertainment. Will they really deal with Richard?"

Clark Entertainment was run by the Clark brothers, who were almost at the top of the company. Herman wasn't sure if Loren would take action against Richard.

Elizabeth, however, was confident. "Don't worry. Based on what I know about Loren, he'll make Richard answer to the company and the public. But that doesn't mean they're giving in. Loren is set to inherit the chairman position at Clark Group, and Richard is being groomed to take over Clark Entertainment. They need to keep the shareholders happy to secure their future positions. So, Loren will deal with Richard now to calm public anger. Richard's two artists will also be fired and held accountable."

She glanced at her watch. "Within half an hour, Clark Entertainment's official account will post the results."

Herman trusted Elizabeth completely. "So, Richard's done for this time?"

Elizabeth shook her head. "No, once the heat dies down, Loren will bring him back. They run a family business, so they're very exclusive."

Seeing Herman's dissatisfaction, she understood. Anyone wronged by Richard would want quick and total revenge.

Elizabeth said, "Don't worry. Our counterattack has hit both Clark brothers hard."

She smirked. "A few more hits, and even if Richard is the chairman's son, he won't be able to take over Clark Entertainment. Loren's transfer to the group will also hurt his resume. Whether he can smoothly inherit Clark Group is still up in the air."

She was determined to keep blocking their way, just as they had done to her.

Herman calmed down. Forcing Clark Entertainment to deal with Richard was already a big win. In the entertainment industry, Richard's reputation was almost completely ruined, and his golden manager title was tarnished.

They chatted a bit more. Rebecca checked her phone and said, "Everything's going as Elizabeth predicted. Clark Entertainment's official account has posted the results and apologized to Emily and everyone."

Elizabeth said, "Loren is the smartest of the brothers. By handling the situation and apologizing quickly, he stops the public from focusing on their company and calms a lot of anger."

Herman asked, "Should we keep pressing our advantage?"

Elizabeth replied, "No need to target Clark Entertainment anymore. Pushing too hard might provoke Clark Group to take action. We're not strong enough to compete with them yet. Plus, the public's attention span is short. Since they've handled the situation and apologized, if we keep pressing, it might backfire on us."

Elizabeth added with a knowing smile, "But let's keep an eye on Richard. After being exposed and disciplined by the company, he won't be in the office for a while. He'll likely hit up various entertainment spots to blow off steam. Also, keep tabs on Brenda. She'll probably try to comfort him after this mess. If they meet up, alert the reporters. They'll get some juicy photos, and we won't even need to spend on marketing. Just sit back and enjoy the show."

Rebecca chuckled. "Perfect. Elizabeth's second episode of the variety show airs next week. Let's give Brenda some heat. Just follow Elizabeth's lead."

Herman grinned. "From now on, we'll all follow your lead, Ms. Clark."

Elizabeth was impressive. She could predict the opponent's moves and exploit their weaknesses. If Richard and Brenda got caught by the paparazzi, the news would be explosive.

Elizabeth said, "I'll book a restaurant for tomorrow night and invite everyone from the studio. Let's have a meal together. Everyone's worked hard these past few days!"

Herman laughed. "I'll let them know."

Working under Elizabeth was great. The battle was thrilling, and she respected everyone.

Meanwhile, in Paul's office, at the Clark Group, Paul and a well-connected shareholder, Lloyd, were having tea.

Lloyd asked, "Paul, did you hear about what happened at the entertainment subsidiary today?"

Paul nodded. "Yes, I did."

Lloyd smiled. "Your daughter Elizabeth is quite capable!"

Paul had always favored Loren among his sons. He had a good impression of Richard too, thinking he was competent, though not as much as Loren. But this incident changed his view. Elizabeth seemed the most promising among his children. Her calculated counterattacks were almost perfect, and she knew when to stop, which was rare.

Paul smiled wryly. "I underestimated her. In the sibling rivalry, she came out on top."

This was unexpected and made the Clark family a laughingstock. Such sibling rivalry was rare in elite circles.

Lloyd laughed. "Elizabeth is capable. I think she should be nurtured. She understands the entertainment industry well. I believe she's more suitable to be the future successor of Clark Entertainment."

He and Paul were on the same team, so he spoke frankly. Although Clark Entertainment was a subsidiary, its profits were considerable. Major shareholders received a third of their annual dividends from it. Naturally, they wanted it to do even better.

After this incident, Paul had a much better opinion of Elizabeth and recognized her abilities more. But he sighed. "She has a lot of resentment and grievances against the Clark family. I don't know if she'd be willing to return to Clark Entertainment."

The Clark Group was his inherited family business, and he was committed to making it better. Whether it was Richard or Elizabeth, they were both his children. Whoever could manage Clark Entertainment better, he would approve. He was tempted by Lloyd's suggestion but feared Elizabeth wouldn't be willing.

Lloyd knew some of the Clark family's affairs. He thought for a moment and advised Paul. "As her father, you should persuade her. I believe she'd agree."

He then added, "I heard she's also a master of divination. Can you help me contact her? Invite her to help me out?"
