Chapter 167 A Bit Ridiculous

Arnold didn't expect Kevin to throw his own words back at him.

He was already in a bad mood, and this made it worse.

With a sullen face, he asked, "You helped Brenda just now, shouldn't you help me out too?"

Kevin smiled and said pettily, "We're still in a temporary break, so you handle it yourself."

Arnold really wanted to drag Kevin out and beat him to death.

Looking at the ten glasses of drinks on the table, he really didn't want to drink them.

But he knew he couldn't avoid it.

Seeing this, Raymond spoke up, "Are you going to drink all ten glasses? Why not let Brenda help you out a bit?"

He originally proposed the drinking bet mainly to target Eugene and Brenda to punish them.

Those two had been too harsh on Elizabeth before.

Especially Brenda, who took everything from Elizabeth and still acted innocent.

He accidentally noticed the deep resentment and hatred in Brenda's eyes when she looked at Elizabeth.

This made him wary, and he planned to find an opportunity to warn Elizabeth off-camera.

Brenda was always trying to get close to him, which disgusted him.

So he looked a chance to set her up, at least let everyone would see her true colors.

Who knew Eugene would be smart this time and avoid it.

And Brenda was able to maintain her docile image and hadn't drunk a single glass.

Wasn't that a waste of his effort? That wouldn't do.

Even if she didn't drink them in the end, he wanted Arnold to at least feel uncomfortable.

Brenda didn't expect Raymond to target her.

Why was Raymond being so ungentlemanly? Even Arnold hadn't said anything.

Now she was in an awkward situation.

She couldn't help but curse Arnold in her heart.

Why did he have to drag her into this when he was so confident about the drinking bet?

Kevin looked at Brenda and saw the rejection and resentment in her eyes, which made him more uncomfortable.

Arnold usually protected her so much, yet she wasn't willing to help him drink a few glasses.

And she even resented Arnold for it.

Moreover, if she didn't want to drink, she should have been more straightforward like Eugene from the start.

Or found an excuse to refuse to take part in the bet like he did.

She wanted to maintain her caring image but wasn't willing to share the burden with him.

All her so-called care and concern for them now seemed utterly fake.

At this moment, Kevin felt incredibly conflicted and hurt by Brenda's actions.

This was the sister they had pampered for so many years.

How ridiculous!

He said to Arnold, "Arnold, why not let Brenda help you with a few glasses?"

He didn't really want to force Brenda to drink. He just wanted to see what she would do.And let Arnold see how "caring" Brenda really was.

Brenda couldn't believe it and looked up at Kevin.

She didn't expect Kevin to refuse to help her but had the audacity to join Raymond in messing with her.

Was he crazy?

Arnold looked at Kevin and saw him giving a subtle nod.

He didn't know what Kevin was up to, but he still looked at Brenda, asking, "Brenda, want to help me drink some?"

Brenda didn't want to drink at all.

She had seen Kevin and Arnold's pained expressions while drinking, with Arnold almost throwing up and drinking half a bottle of water.

It must have tasted awful.

She quickly said, "Arnold, of course, I'm willing to drink with you. But I'm on my period, how about I drink three glasses?"

She believed that with Arnold's love for her, he wouldn't let her drink while she was on her period.

Sure enough, Arnold suddenly smiled at her.

He replied, "It's okay, it's just ten glasses, I'll drink them."

He didn't hesitate, picked up a glass, and drank it.

Being suppressed by the person he hated and looked down on the most made Arnold feel humiliated and betrayed.

Elizabeth had teamed up with others to mess with him.Kevin didn't help him, and even Brenda, whom he adored, was like this.He felt hurt, upset, and frustrated. He drank another glass, feeling a sense of sorrow.

Brenda pretended to pick up a glass. Then she offered, "Arnold, let me help you with two glasses."

Arnold wasn't that stupid; he could see that Brenda didn't really want to drink with him.

Now she just picked up the glass but didn't drink it, instead asking him about it, stalling.

So he took the glass from her. "No need, I lost, I should be punished,"Arnold replied with a heavy heart.

Although he didn't want to admit it, he was indeed defeated by Gilbert today.

He didn't need to look to know that the online sentiment would change, and he would be criticized.

A bet was a bet, what else could he do?

If he argued or made excuses, it would be even more embarrassing, so he might as well be honest about it.

After drinking nine glasses in a row, Arnold's face turned red, but he wasn't drunk.

Raymond had instructed the waiter to use low-alcohol drinks.

So even after drinking ten glasses, it was still less intoxicating than the same amount of beer.

Arnold picked up the last glass, ready to drink.

Elizabeth spoke up, "Arnold, shouldn't you come over and drink this last glass with Gilbert?"

Didn't he misunderstand Gilbert? Shouldn't he apologize?

Just because Gilbert had a lower status and no background, did he deserve to be bullied?

She would protect her people; no one could bully them like that.

Arnold's eyes were red with embarrassment and anger.

He said painfully, "I'll drink, of course, I'll drink with Gilbert."

He stood up and walked to Gilbert, hesitated for a moment, then said, "Sorry, I misunderstood you before."

He found it hard to say.

Elizabeth was really something, forcing him, her own brother, to apologize to Gilbert.

But since she brought it would seem too petty it up, if he didn't apologize.

Although he didn't care about the money he made as a singer, he still cherished his reputation as a popular star.

Gilbert could see that Arnold was forced by Elizabeth to apologize.

His eyes also turned red from being overwhelmed with emotion.

But it wasn't because of Arnold's apology, it was because of Elizabeth.

She protected him to this extent, making it hard for him not to be moved by her actions.

Gilbert didn't want to say it was okay or anything about forgiveness.

After all, if Elizabeth hadn't helped him, he would have been oppressed by Arnold until he quit the music industry.

Elizabeth could read Gilbert's thoughts, and she felt the same way.

Just because he apologized didn't mean he should be forgiven.

Otherwise, wouldn't the harm Gilbert suffered be in vain?

She stepped in to help Gilbert, looking at Arnold seriously, and advised, "Arnold, it's good that you know you misunderstood. I hope you'll be more careful with your words and actions in the future. Otherwise, it could cause great harm to others and make the music industry lose a talented person."

Arnold looked deeply at Elizabeth. "Thank you for your advice, Elizabeth!" he replied.

Then he drank the glass in one gulp.

Without waiting for Gilbert to say anything, he turned and went back to his seat.

He could see that Elizabeth spoke up again for Gilbert.

Gilbert didn't want to accept his apology, so she stood in front of Gilbert, allowing him to choose to not to forgive Arnold if he didn't want to.

He couldn't help but feel heartbroken, and his mouth tasted even more bitter.

Arnold drank and apologized, so Elizabeth and Raymond didn't press him further.

Gilbert poured a glass of wine and toasted Elizabeth.Meeting an agent like Elizabeth was the greatest luck of his life.

Raymond got up and went out, then came back with a tray.It had a lot of cocktail ingredients on it.

Seeing him with these things, Kevin and the others couldn't help but be wary of his intentions.

What was Raymond up to now?

Seeing their guarded expressions, Raymond couldn't help but laugh.

He mixed three drinks according to the ingredients he had used before.

He picked up a glass and said to Kevin, "Sorry, I lied to you before. I didn't use your table number to order drinks; the drinks you had were made by me. I originally meant it as a joke, but I didn't expect you to drink them all. Now I'll drink three glasses too!"
