Chapter 143 He Regretted It
Kevin stepped up and pulled Arnold's arm. "Arnold, it's almost time to board. Come take a break."
Arnold was fuming at Elizabeth and Raymond but couldn't win the argument.
He realized Elizabeth wasn't showing him any respect.
Just as he was figuring out how to leave quietly, Kevin showed up, sparing him from the embarrassment.
He looked at Elizabeth and said, "I'm not arguing with you."
Elizabeth sneered, "If you're scared, just admit it. No need for excuses. If you want a fight, I'm game."
Arnold paused. "You're impossible."
Elizabeth was getting better at pushing his buttons.
And he really didn't want to fight her.
He remembered Richard's painful lesson all too well.
He'd be a fool to let Elizabeth get physical.
So he turned and sat down with Kevin.
Then he saw Kevin video chatting with his two brothers.
His face darkened. "Kevin, what are you doing?"
Did his embarrassing moment with Elizabeth just get seen by his other brothers?
Kevin looked innocent. "Richard asked me to livestream it for him."
Arnold's face darkened more as he looked at Richard in the video. "Richard, can't you do something useful?"
He added, "Even if you can't be an agent and got kicked out, you can still find something else to do."
Richard sneered, "What I do is none of your business. But that show was entertaining. We never knew you had a knack for comedy. Even though I'm not an agent now, I can still talk to the company. Maybe you could act. If you play a clown, you might just get famous."
He still remembered how Arnold and Enrique ignored his pain and took the bracelet for Brenda.
Arnold was furious. "Richard, don't push it."
Raymond had just called him ugly, and Elizabeth had called him shameless. He was already upset.
He was the most handsome singer in the music industry.
Now Richard was mocking him with clowns and comedy. How could a brother do that?
Richard, however, was indifferent. "Don't doubt it, our brotherly love is just that fake. Alright, show's over. I can't be bothered to argue with you anymore. Take care."
Then, before Arnold could say anything, he hung up.
Arnold was so angry he wanted to curse, but he had to hold it in.
How did he get so unlucky with such brothers and sisters?
Kevin couldn't help but feel sorry for Arnold. He really was too pitiful.
Arnold noticed Kevin's gloating look and snapped, "What are you looking at? Want to humiliate me too?"
Kevin pouted. "If you're upset, don't take it out on me."
Otherwise, he wouldn't put up with Arnold.
Brenda thought for a moment and leaned in to Arnold, "Arnold, don't be angry."
She hinted softly, "Wait until the livestream starts, then you can say whatever you want."
She didn't believe that once the livestream started, Elizabeth would still dare to be so arrogant with Arnold.
In fact, she hoped Elizabeth would continue to be arrogant.
Arnold was the most popular star in the music industry with a huge fan base.
If he confronted Elizabeth during the livestream and got mocked, his fans would definitely not stand for it and would tear Elizabeth apart.
Arnold's eyes lit up. "That's true."
During the livestream, Elizabeth and Raymond definitely wouldn't dare to be so arrogant.
Then he could have a proper talk with Elizabeth about the company.
Kevin, listening in, felt even more sympathy for Arnold.
Did he really think Elizabeth would be nicer during the livestream?
Arnold was too naive.
In the first episode, Elizabeth and Raymond had mocked him plenty during the livestream.
The three of them were speaking quietly, but Elizabeth heard them.
She found Brenda amusing, always playing these little tricks.
Of course, Arnold was just too dumb to fall for it.
She'd find a chance to wake him up properly.
Elizabeth's gaze fell on the bracelet on Brenda's wrist.
It had a strong aura of luck, no less than the bracelet Rebecca wore.
It seemed the person behind Brenda had deep resources.
But with this bracelet, Elizabeth could find a chance to capture its aura.
If she met the person who gave Brenda the bracelet, she could identify them by the aura.
Brenda quickly noticed Elizabeth looking at her bracelet.
She touched it and gave Elizabeth a smug look.
Even if she couldn't resolve it, she could still find a way to suppress it.
Ever since she started wearing this bracelet, her face had stopped hurting as much.
Soon, the show's staff came in and informed everyone they could board the plane.
Raymond had already spoken with the director in private before coming.
So after boarding, he sat with Elizabeth.
Raymond pulled up the travel itinerary he had made on his phone and showed it to Elizabeth. "Once this episode is over, we can plan a trip."
Elizabeth took the phone and looked at it, finding him quite thoughtful. "Sure!"
The two of them started talking about their travel plans.
Eugene, sitting in the row behind them, just watched.
He had a cold personality, and when Elizabeth was with him, she did most of the talking while he mostly listened.
Of course, it was the same with others.
Now, seeing the two of them talking and remembering how they had teamed up to mock Arnold earlier made him sad.
It was clear they were both very happy.
When did Elizabeth and Raymond become so in sync?
A pang of jealousy and pain gripped his heart.
Kevin, sitting next to Eugene, saw his expression.
He couldn't help but whisper, "Eugene, why torture yourself like this?"
Seeing the two of them laughing and talking, Kevin felt bad enough, let alone Eugene, Elizabeth's ex-boyfriend.
In his opinion, Raymond clearly had no good intentions towards Elizabeth.
He even made a travel itinerary to lure Elizabeth into going on a trip.
Eugene hadn't even gone on a trip with Elizabeth yet.
He wanted to throw Raymond off the plane.
Eugene didn't look away. "If people could control their hearts, they wouldn't fall in love with others."
He regretted it.
Regretted not cherishing the time he had with Elizabeth.
Regretted his mistaken belief that he hadn't done anything to wrong her. So even if she was angry, they would still continue as they did in their youth.
Regretted being too arrogant, thinking she liked him so much that she would never leave.
He missed her talking to him with a bright smile like she used to.
He would change his cold personality and laugh and talk with her.
Kevin didn't know what to say to that.
He thought Elizabeth would never go back to Eugene.
But he didn't say it out loud, not wanting to make Eugene feel worse.
After arriving at the airport, the group got into the program's car and headed straight to the city center.
As soon as they got out of the car, the livestream started.
