Chapter 389 What Does It Have to Do with Her?
Amy was caught off guard at first. As she thought about which of her relatives shared her zodiac sign, one name popped into her head.
She hesitated. "Your fifth cousin Zephyr Anderson and I have the same zodiac sign, and we were even born in the same month. But if the venomous insect is transferred to him, will he end up like me?"
Brenda replied, "I heard from that divination master that if it's transferred to a guy, his skin won't have any issues. It'll just mess with his fertility a bit. And it'll be easier to get rid of the venomous insect later compared to the first host. So if it goes to Zephyr, it'll be much easier for the divination master to help expel it later. The impact on Zephyr will also be way less than what you're dealing with now."
She sighed, "I just see how much pain you're in, Mom, and it breaks my heart. That's why I brought this up."
If the venomous insect transferred to a member of the Anderson Family, and they couldn't get help from the top master from the Divination Association, they'd definitely turn to Elizabeth. The question then was whether Elizabeth would choose to save them.
If Elizabeth tried to save them, according to Ethan, she might not have the strength yet. If she went ahead anyway, she could accidentally put Zephyr, the Anderson Family's favorite, in danger. This would definitely piss off the most powerful evil wizard of Eldoria, leading to more trouble.
On the other hand, if Elizabeth refused to help, she'd definitely anger the Anderson Family. In that case, Ethan, who had been helping her restore the Generational Blessings and her appearance, would step in to help. This would earn him the gratitude and favor of the Anderson Family.
The Anderson Family recently got two mines, and Ethan is interested in exploring them for certain items. If they save someone, they could ask the Anderson Family for these items as a reward. If Ethan gets what he's looking for, he'd definitely remember the favor she did for him.
The more Brenda thought about it, the more she liked the idea. It had so many benefits; she felt so clever!
As for whether the Anderson Family would blame Betty, or if Zephyr would die, what did that have to do with her?
Seeing that Betty was still hesitant but already wavering, Brenda added, "Zephyr does nothing all day. If he can share some of your burden, I believe even the Anderson Family wouldn't say anything."
In her interactions with the Anderson Family's cousins, her relationships with Zephyr and her aunt's daughter were the worst. Ironically, both of these people got along well with Elizabeth, which made her dislike them even more. If Zephyr wasn't from the Anderson Family, she wouldn't even give him a second glance.
Betty thought for a moment. "How about I talk to my family first?"
Brenda suggested, "Better not. What if they disagree? I have an idea; we can do it secretly. Transfer the venomous insect to Zephyr, and we can pretend we don't know. After all, Zephyr's skin won't develop red spots. If it messes with his fertility, the Anderson Family might just think it's because of his fooling around. But if we tell them, I'm afraid Leon and the others will disagree and stop us, and we won't be able to transfer it."
Brenda added, "Even though Zephyr's a playboy, he's pretty favored in the Anderson Family because he knows how to charm people."
Hearing Brenda's words, Betty fell into deep thought. After a moment, she said, "I want to meet the divination master you mentioned before making a decision."
Brenda knew Betty had agreed. She said, "Alright. I'll set up a time and place with him, and I'll go with you to see him tomorrow."
Betty didn't want to go out, but she also didn't want her sons to know about this, so she nodded and said, "Alright."
That evening, Richard and the others came back to have dinner with Betty and kept an eye on Brenda. They rarely saw Betty in a good mood. Betty not only had a better appetite than before, but she also didn't scold them as much.
Richard glanced at Brenda. He didn't know why, but he felt that Betty's change had something to do with Brenda.
He tentatively asked, "Mom, did something good happen? You seem to be in a good mood."
Betty gave him a look and retorted, "What, do you want me to be in a bad mood all the time? I'm just too lazy to bother with you. If you want to keep getting scolded, I don't mind obliging."
Richard fell silent. 'Alright, that seems more like her.' He then bowed to Betty. "Please spare me."
Normally, Betty would have lost her temper by now. But this time, she just glared at Richard. "You're such a jerk."
After dinner, Betty took Brenda upstairs.
Richard asked the other three, "Don't you think Mom is acting a bit strange today?"
Enrique replied, "Do you think it's normal for Mom to scold us every day? I hope Mom stays like this every day."
Arnold agreed, "Yeah, it's better this way, otherwise I really don't want to come back for dinner."
Kevin nodded. "Every meal used to feel like torture, now it's much better. It must be Brenda who has calmed Mom down. As long as they don't cause trouble, we don't need to worry about anything else."
Hearing them say that, Richard suppressed his suspicions. "You're right."
He wasn't a masochist; of course, he hoped meals wouldn't be filled with scolding. Then the four brothers put Betty's change aside.
The next day, Enrique was resting in his room, and after Richard and the other two left one after another, Brenda took Betty, who was wrapped up tightly, and drove away from the Clark Family. They arrived at a restaurant with private rooms. Inside sat a man in his forties.
Betty chatted with him. She learned that if the venomous insect on her was transferred to Zephyr, the impact wouldn't be significant. And as long as President Xavier or the vice president of the Divination Association returned, she could ask them to help Zephyr get rid of the venomous insect.
The incense given by the previous fortune-teller could no longer suppress the venomous insect, so her situation was very dangerous. Once it completely lost its effect, her condition would worsen. After thinking it over, Betty finally decided to transfer the venomous insect.
