Chapter 164 Brothers Should Drink Together

As soon as Arnold sat down, Raymond looked at Kevin and Brenda and said, "You guys can start drinking."

Kevin remained silent. Raymond had been watching them closely.

He took a deep breath, then exclaimed, "A bet's a bet, we'll drink!"

Three drinks weren't too much for him.

He was just about to use the small glasses on the table to pour the drinks.

Who knew, Raymond had the waiter bring over six mixed drinks.

Not only were the glasses large, but the color of the drinks also looked strange.

Kevin refused, "There's no need for that, we'll drink what we ordered."

Raymond smiled and said, "These were specially mixed by the bartender for you. They've already been brought over, how can you refuse? If you don't drink these, you'll have to pay for them yourselves."

Kevin knew Raymond had been waiting for this moment. "How much per glass?" he questioned Raymond.

Raymond held up five fingers, then said nonchalantly, "This much."

Kevin asked, "Fifty Veridiania currency? We can afford three hundred Veridiania currency."

Raymond shook his head dismissively, and scoffed, "What are you thinking? Five hundred Veridiania currency per glass. I specially ordered these for you. If you finish them, I'll cover the bill."

Kevin felt like cursing. "You ordered them, why should we drink and pay for them?" he said angrily.

Raymond shrugged, looking innocent. "Because I ordered them using your table number!" he claimed playfully.

Kevin paused, then asked incredulously, "Can't you be a decent person?"

Raymond smiled and made a gesture. He teased, "Come on, show Brenda how it's done."

Hearing this, Arnold's already dark expression turned even darker.

He felt that the manner of how Raymond said "show how it's done" was Raymond's way of mocking him.

He had just "shown how it's done" to Gilbert and lost.

He looked at Raymond with a bit of coldness in his eyes.

Raymond saw him looking over and smiled, "Arnold, no need to look at me like that. I'm just following your example."

Arnold remained silent. Why hadn't anyone beaten this annoying Raymond to death yet?

He let out a sarcastic laugh.

Then he asked Kevin, somewhat confused, "What do you mean by 'a bet's a bet'? Why do you have to drink?"

Kevin had to quietly explain the bet they had made earlier.

The more he explained, the darker Arnold's expression became. He looked at Kevin, and asked in disbelief, "He asked you to bet, and you just bet?"

Arnold almost wanted to say, 'Are you guys idiots?'

Kevin could tell what he meant. He rolled his eyes. Then responded to Arnold, "We believed in you."

He added in his mind, 'Who knew that you'd be so useless?'

Arnold was speechless, feeling a bit embarrassed. He replied, "Then you guys drink."

Kevin had no choice but to pick up a glass and down it in one gulp.

His face scrunched up in disgust. He asked, "What kind of drink is this? It's awful."

Raymond laughed, and teased, "This is a new mix the bartender came up with. You guys are lucky to be the first to try it."

The audience burst into laughter.

[This is Raymond's special mix. I can't believe Kevin actually drank it.]

[Raymond is so bad, but it's hilarious.]

[Kevin probably guessed it was fifty Veridiania currency, but for all of them, not per glass.]

[He probably doesn't know that Raymond pretended to go to the bathroom, went to the bar, and bought the ingredients for fifty Veridiania currency, then haphazardly mixed it himself.]

[But Raymond did ask the bartender if it was safe to mix them like that, and the bartender said it was fine.]

[Yeah, so Kevin won't get sick like he did from Brenda's pasta.]

Kevin rolled his eyes at Raymond, filled with doubt. He remarked, "I don't believe you."

But he had lost the bet. The drink was awful, but not too strong. Three glasses wouldn't get him drunk. His stomach shouldn't hurt either.

So he held his breath and drank the other two glasses.

After finishing the three drinks, Kevin turned the glass upside down.

He said to Raymond, "I'm done."

Raymond applauded, and praised, "Kevin, you're brave."

Kevin was speechless. "Shut up,"he retorted, annoyed.

He felt there was more to Raymond's words.

Raymond stopped focusing on Kevin and turned to Brenda. He said excitedly, "Brenda, your turn."

Normally, Brenda would be happy if Raymond called her name.

But now, it felt like he was mocking her.

She looked at the three strange-colored drinks, feeling extremely reluctant.

So she didn't move.

Arnold paused, and questioned them, "Why should Brenda drink?"

He looked at Eugene. Then he pointed out, "Shouldn't Eugene drink?"

Making a girl drink was ungentlemanly.

Eugene glanced at him smugly, and explained, "I bet on Gilbert winning, so I don't have to drink."

The Clark brothers were both idiots.

The drinks were obviously Raymond's doing. After Kevin heard the drinks were five hundred Veridiania currency each, he really drank them.

He couldn't help but wonder if all the Clark family's intelligence went to Elizabeth instead.

Arnold glared at Eugene, and scolded, "But we're in the same group!"

Eugene betting on his most hated person felt like betrayal.

Eugene coldly replied, "We're in the same group, but I don't want to drink three of those. Got a problem?"

Arnold was annoyed by his retort. He asked, "You think I'm going to lose?"

Weren't they supposed to be on the same side?

Eugene laughed, and rebutted, "Didn't you already lose? What was Kevin drinking then?"

Arnold was silent.

Eugene wasn't a good person either.

Arnold said, "Even though I lost, Gilbert hasn't proven he didn't hear the song beforehand."

Eugene looked at Arnold with a "you're so naive" expression, then suggested, "How about you bet three drinks too?"

Since Elizabeth suggested Gilbert prove his talent, she must be confident.

Besides, he wasn't a singer, but he knew a bit about music. He had even released a song.

Gilbert was indeed better than Arnold in every way.

Eugene glanced at Elizabeth, who was also looking over.So he suggested to Arnold, "If Gilbert proves his talent, you drink. If he can't, he drinks three to apologize. Deal?"

Everyone was surprised.

Eugene was setting Arnold up too.

They were in the same group, which made it interesting.

Raymond immediately said, "Three isn't enough. If Gilbert has to apologize, it should be five. So Arnold, you should drink five too, to be fair."

Eugene and Raymond's words left Arnold stunned.

When did he say he was betting? And five drinks?

Arnold pretended to be not worried, and claimed, "There's no need for that."

Kevin suddenly put a hand on his shoulder, and remarked, "Arnold, I think it's necessary. If Gilbert wins unfairly, he must drink five to apologize."

Whether Arnold drank in the end didn't matter.

Brothers should drink together.

Arnold should drink more, maybe two extra.
