Chapter 447 It's His Turn

In Eldoria, after Stanley hung up the phone, his eyes turned dark. He realized the puppet artifact he gave Aaron was destroyed, meaning someone was definitely after Aaron.

But since Aaron had called him earlier, Stanley wasn't sure if it was Elizabeth who made the move or if Ethan was behind it. The big question was whether Aaron was still alive. Aaron's phone was taken, so Stanley couldn't reach out to him.

After mulling it over, Stanley decided to go check things out himself. If Aaron was dead, he'd make sure the killer paid. If Aaron was alive, he wouldn't let whoever used him get away with it either. So, Stanley got someone to fake a tourist identity for him.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth returned the little Aether Serpent to Zephyr in the hospital. The serpent had told her that the poison bug in Zephyr's body had been awakened three times. Thanks to its suppressive aura, the bug didn't act up, keeping Zephyr safe.

Elizabeth thought, 'Ethan's definitely behind this.'

Two days later, Elizabeth got in touch with Zachary and took Zephyr to Aevum City. Leon and Ruth tagged along.

When Ethan found out, he quickly sent a message to Stanley. As soon as Elizabeth and her crew landed in Aevum City, Stanley hopped on a plane to follow them.

At Zachary's place in Aevum City, Elizabeth introduced the Anderson family to Zachary. They were super respectful to him, having heard about his power and how he broke the Generational Blessings curse on Enrique.

Zachary nodded at them and then turned to Elizabeth, "Should we get rid of the poison bug now, or do you want to rest first?"

Elizabeth replied, "Let's do it now, just to be safe." She knew Ethan would contact Stanley, so it was better to remove the bug before Stanley showed up. Who knew what could happen otherwise?

Zachary agreed, "Alright!"

He then told Leon and Ruth, "You two wait here. Elizabeth and I will take him inside to remove the poison bug."

Leon and Ruth nodded, "Okay, Mr. Murphy, thanks for your help."

Zephyr followed them into a room in the inner courtyard. Once inside, Zachary had Zephyr lie down on a soft couch. As soon as Zephyr lay down, Zachary tapped his head, putting him into a deep sleep.

Zachary then glanced at Elizabeth's wrist and asked, "Did you find the place on the Gemstone Halo?"

Elizabeth knew he recognized the little Aether Serpent. She smiled, "I did." Then she explained the picture within a picture situation.

Zachary smiled, "Congrats, the Aether Serpent is a Spirit Beast, super rare."

Elizabeth chuckled, "Thanks."

He pressed on, "Besides the little Aether Serpent, did you find anything else?"

Elizabeth knew what he was getting at and answered honestly, "I found some energy stones and a few ancient books. One of them has a spell that can let you leave this city. In the future, you won't be stuck here. You can go wherever you want."

Whether Zachary believed it or not, that was the secret method.

Zachary looked at Elizabeth deeply and raised an eyebrow. "What a coincidence, seems like my lucky break. And it must've taken a lot of effort from you." He didn't buy that it was just a coincidence. The place with the Aether Serpent also had the spell book he needed? It was probably Elizabeth's "coincidence."

But he didn't plan to dig any deeper; everyone had their secrets. Elizabeth giving him that spell was already a huge favor. What he wanted now was to break free from Aevum City's chains and get his freedom back.

Elizabeth nodded, "This is your chance. And hey, if you want to thank me, I won't say no." Having Zachary owe her one meant she had a powerful ally, which was super valuable.

Zachary chuckled, "Don't worry, I won't forget what you did." He pointed to the sleeping Zephyr and asked, "Shall we get rid of the poison bug now?" He felt that once this was done, he could focus on studying the spell. After all these years, his usually calm heart finally felt a sense of urgency.

Elizabeth nodded, "Alright, let's do it."

Zachary sat down, smiling, "No problem. With this little Aether Serpent, it'll be much easier to get rid of the poison bug." Elizabeth sure had a lot of luck, with deep Generational Blessings. No wonder Ethan was after her.

Elizabeth started the process to remove the poison bug from Zephyr. She lit a special incense to lure it out and placed her hand on Zephyr's head, sending energy to protect his brain.

At the same time, she had the little Aether Serpent release its suppressive aura to force the bug out. The bug was drawn to the incense but sensed danger and resisted coming out.

But with the little Aether Serpent's pressure, it had no choice but to come out. The bug got angry and tried to harm Zephyr. But as soon as it moved, it was blocked by a powerful force. Then it sent its anger to its master.

Just after getting off the plane and waiting for a connecting flight to Aevum City, Stanley felt something. He squinted; someone was trying to kill the blood-fed poison bug he had planted. So he found a secluded spot and bit his finger. With his other hand, he used his blood to draw a poison bug curse.

On Elizabeth's side, she quickly sensed Stanley's attack. Now that she was an advanced diviner, she wasn't scared of him. But if she had to free her hands to counterattack, it might harm Zephyr.

She glanced at Zachary, signaling it was his turn. Having Zachary there was for this exact moment.

Zachary said, "I'm on it!" He placed his hand on the other side of Zephyr's head and chanted a spell. Soon, two forces clashed in Zephyr's head. If it weren't for Elizabeth's protection, Zephyr would have been brain-dead by now.

The clash was brief. Within a few breaths, Zachary quickly overpowered the other force.

Elizabeth smiled at him, "Zachary, you're amazing!" Zachary, a genius who had lived for so many years, easily handled Stanley.

Zachary chuckled, "If you live as long as I have, you'll be even more amazing." Elizabeth's talent was even stronger than his.

Elizabeth smiled, "I also got lucky." If she hadn't experienced so many different worlds before, she wouldn't have become an advanced diviner so quickly.

At the airport, Stanley's face changed instantly, and his hand trembled violently after the counterattack. Was it Zachary who stepped in? He couldn't think of anyone else that strong.

Stanley's expression was unreadable. If Elizabeth had killed Aaron, even with Zachary's intervention, he wouldn't let her go. But if Aaron was alive and it wasn't Elizabeth's doing, he still needed to find her to confuse and reassure those plotting against them. So this trip to Aevum City was a must.
