Chapter 185 She Better Not Mess Up His Instructions Again

Ryan was startled by what he said.

He narrowed his eyes in disbelief. He remarked, "So you really can sense the aura on our badges. No wonder you always manage to escape in advance."

They always carried their badges when they went out on missions.

After all, sometimes they needed to show their badges to enter certain places or events.

Who would have thought that this would give Samuel an opportunity to avoid being captured?

They didn't know if other dark wizards had the same ability.

Fortunately, after their failed attempt to capture him in the afternoon, they called Elizabeth.

She thought for a moment and suggested that they might have something on them that Samuel could recognize.

That's why Samuel always detected them in advance.

She advised them not to carry anything, especially badges, and to try staking out the hospital instead.

They followed her advice and succeeded.

Ryan's words made Samuel realize something. He asked, "Did Elizabeth tell you that?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow, amused, and praised Samuel, "You're pretty smart."

Samuel was livid. Why was it always Elizabeth getting in his way, disrupting his plans?

Why was she involved in everything?

Samuel asked, "How did she know I could sense the aura on your badges?"

Percy replied, "She probably guessed it. She suggested earlier that we shouldn't carry badges or any commonly used divination artifacts. She said it would be best to give them to someone else to take up the elevator while we block the stairway. She really is your nemesis."

They hadn't expected that Samuel was able to avoid being captured because of his ability to sense the aura of their badges.

If it weren't for Elizabeth's reminder, Samuel would have escaped even if they had come prepared to the hospital tonight.

Ryan's eyes darkened in anger. Elizabeth really had a knack for dealing with these people.

Samuel took a deep breath. He requested, "I want to meet Elizabeth."

He felt something was off.

Logically, Brenda should be Elizabeth's nemesis.

How did it turn out that Elizabeth was their nemesis instead?

He thought for a while and realized the change started when Elizabeth left the Clark family.

He couldn't help but curse Brenda for her foolishness.

They had deliberately provided clues to get the Clark family to bring Elizabeth back.

It would have been beneficial for both Brenda and their plans.

But Brenda had managed to push Elizabeth away so quickly that she severed ties and left.

It backfired on them, instead.

Now their plans were falling apart repeatedly because of Elizabeth's unpredictability.

During the day, he noticed special department personnel at the racetrack, so he didn't dare to go himself.

He didn't get to see Elizabeth in person.

And on the live stream, the screen seemed to be obscured by something.

He could only sense Elizabeth's past and destiny, like her divination master fans. But he couldn't see her present or future.

Samuel couldn't detect anything strange about her through the screen. So he wanted to meet Elizabeth in person.

This request left Percy and Ryan momentarily stunned. They said reluctantly, "Elizabeth is busy with the variety show. She doesn't have time to see you. Besides, she doesn't know you."

Samuel said, "Tell her I want to see her. Maybe she wants to see me too. And who says she doesn't know me? We do know each other. Tell her that once she sees me, she'll know who I am."

He had many questions that could only be answered by meeting Elizabeth.

Percy and Ryan exchanged glances as they asked each other, "Should we ask?"

Ryan thought for a moment. He proposed, "I'll call her and ask."

If Elizabeth wanted to meet Samuel, she would.

She was so capable that he wanted to recruit her to his team.

Percy nodded in agreement, and urged, "Go ahead and call."

Ryan first checked the live stream and saw that Elizabeth was still playing games at the internet cafe.

So he sent a text message.

Ryan: [Can we talk on the phone?]

Elizabeth had just finished a round of the game.

Hearing the notification, she moved away from the live stream camera and checked her phone.

Then she stood up and said she needed to use the restroom.

Finding a quiet corner, she called Ryan. "Mr. Ward, did you catch him?" she inquired.

Ryan smiled proudly and gave her credit, saying, "Thanks to you, we did. I thought you might ask if we failed again."

Elizabeth said meaningfully, "With such a good opportunity tonight, if you still couldn't catch him, then..."

She didn't finish her sentence.

Ryan guessed she might have meant that if they couldn't catch him with such a good opportunity, they were pretty useless.

He chuckled then confessed, "If we hadn't followed your advice about not carrying badges, he might have escaped again."

Elizabeth smiled gently and remarked, "I was just guessing. You caught him and called me. It can't be just to inform me, right?"

Ryan realized Elizabeth was exceptionally smart and perceptive. he informed her, "He wants to meet you."

Elizabeth wasn't surprised. "Why does he want to meet me?" she asked.

He probably thought she was an unpredictable factor and wanted to meet her to clear things up.

Ryan said, "Maybe because of you, he got caught. And he said you two know each other. Once you see him, you'll know who he is."

This surprised Elizabeth. She remarked, "I know him?"

Even without this happening, she had planned to meet Samuel.

She wanted to see what Brenda's brother was like and if she could find any clues from him.

Now that they apparently knew each other, she was even more determined to meet him.

Elizabeth smiled as she calmly replied,, "Alright, I'll come find you after the live stream tonight."

She asked, "Should we meet at the hotel or somewhere else?"

Ryan said, "The hotel is fine. We're taking him back to the hotel now."

Elizabeth said, "Okay, I'll contact you later."

After hanging up, Ryan told Samuel, "Elizabeth will come to see you later."

Samuel smirked. And replied boastfully, "I knew she would."

He knew Elizabeth would be curious about who he was.He didn't resist and followed the two out of the hospital.

Before getting into the car, he looked back at the building where Brenda was staying.

He hoped Brenda would be as competent as she used to be.

She better not mess up his instructions again.

Two hours later, Elizabeth checked the time and decided it was enough gaming practice for the night. She gathered her team and left the internet cafe, heading back to the hotel.

Meanwhile, Eugene had drunk quite a bit, and instead of feeling better, he found himself obsessively thinking about Elizabeth.

So he said he wasn't feeling well and wanted to return to the hotel.

When they went to the bar, he had booked a mid-range hotel nearby.

It happened to be close to where Elizabeth was staying.

Arnold and Kevin wanted to keep drinking, so they let him go ahead.

At the hotel, Elizabeth took a shower, changed clothes, and drew a spell scroll to conceal her aura.

Then she got up and went to the room where Ryan and Percy were staying.

They had deliberately chosen a room on the same floor as hers.

When she reached the door, she knocked.

Percy opened the door and, seeing Elizabeth, gave a gentle smile. He welcomed, "You're here. Please come in!"

Elizabeth smiled back and nodded, "Alright!"

Just as she was about to follow Percy inside, Eugene suddenly rushed over.
