Chapter 235 Are You That Hungry?
Richard felt a bit embarrassed when Elizabeth called him out. He hadn't realized she thought so little of him now.
All thanks to those two clowns, always running their mouths.
But if he hadn't known about Brenda's drama, he might not have turned her down. They were just messing around, after all. Now he was seriously freaked out; he couldn't be so chill in the future.
Hubert: [What a shame; Richard can't be like me. I'd have a buddy.]
Richard: [Get lost. Who wants to be your buddy?] He didn't want Brenda mooching off his Generational Blessings.
Richard: [@Elizabeth Can you hook me up with two more Spellscrolls?]
Without Spellscrolls, he always felt on edge. Now, he had to keep an eye out for Brenda.
Elizabeth: [Sure, five million bucks.]
Five million was steep, but if money could fix it, it wasn't a problem. Generational Blessings and his life were way more important.
Richard: [No problem, I'll wire it now. Should I swing by to pick them up?]
Elizabeth: [Yeah, come over.]
Arnold and Kevin had been lurking in the chat.
Seeing Elizabeth's message, Arnold asked, "Richard, can you ask Elizabeth if she can make us some Spellscrolls too?"
Richard almost got caught; could they be spared? Without Spellscrolls, they'd be sitting ducks for Brenda.
Kevin nodded like crazy. "Yeah, yeah, we need them too. We'll pay."
Richard didn't want his bros getting caught either, so he tagged Elizabeth and asked.
Elizabeth didn't mind and told them to transfer the cash.
If Brenda stole too much of the Clark brothers' Generational Blessings, it wouldn't be good for her. They had an inverse relationship. If Brenda's Generational Blessings went up, she'd be suppressed.
So she had to help the three brothers with the Spellscrolls. Of course, not a penny less.
The two of them were relieved when Elizabeth agreed.
Kevin sighed, "Elizabeth is the best."
Arnold chimed in, "Yeah, totally."
Kevin sighed heavily, "Elizabeth said our pampering of Brenda had nothing to do with enchantment; it was our own fault. This means she's even less likely to forgive us."
Hearing this, Arnold and Richard felt bad too.
Richard stood up and changed the subject. "Alright, let's go see Elizabeth for the Spellscrolls. Otherwise, I don't even dare to go home."
Even if Richard got the Spellscrolls, he still planned to stay out for a while. Home was too scary; he had to be on guard.
Arnold and Kevin agreed, "Yeah, let's go see Elizabeth for the Spellscrolls." They had the same thought as Richard. Recently, it was better to stay out; home was too dangerous.
As the three drove away from home, Brenda went to Enrique's room.
Richard had bailed, and the incense and Spellscrolls were useless, making Brenda so mad she could scream. But she couldn't do anything about Richard for now.
Noticing that the foundation barely covered the spots on her hands, Brenda couldn't wait any longer and decided to find Enrique.
Enrique poured Brenda a glass of water and asked, "Brenda, why are your eyes red again?"
Before Brenda came, she had deliberately cried for a while. When asked, she evasively replied, "No, it's nothing."
Enrique frowned and asked, "Did someone mess with you?"
Brenda pursed her lips and muttered, "Not really bullying. It's just that Richard said he hates me. I don't know why, but recently Richard, Arnold, and Kevin have had such a big problem with me. I didn't do anything to them."
She sighed, feeling all sorry for herself. "But it's no surprise they don't like me. They're all focused on Elizabeth now."
Enrique reached out and patted her head. "They're just being idiots lately, don't sweat it. I'll talk to them. Even if they don't care about you, I still do."
Brenda leaned on his shoulder, hugging his arm. "You're all I've got now, Enrique. I've been so unlucky lately. Can you lend me some of your luck? When things get better, I'll give it back."
If she could snag all of Elizabeth's Generational Blessings as planned, she'd be a big star in the entertainment world again. And if she had more Generational Blessings than she needed, she wouldn't mind having Samuel help return what she borrowed from Enrique.
Enrique smiled and agreed, "It's no big deal. It's just luck. If you want it, I'll give you some."
Brenda's eyes lit up. "Enrique, are you really giving me some of your Generational Blessings?"
Enrique nodded. "Of course, take it."
Brenda was thrilled. "Enrique, you're the best. I like you the most."
After hanging out for a bit, she made an excuse about being tired and had Enrique take her back to her room.
Back in her room, Brenda grabbed a bowl and filled it with water. She took out a Spellscroll and wrote Enrique's name and birthdate on it with a pen. She lit it and tossed it into the water.
If anyone else had been there, they'd be amazed. The burning Spellscroll didn't go out in the water but kept burning until it turned to ashes. The ashes dissolved into the water like they were never there.
Brenda's eyes sparkled with joy and excitement as she drank all the water in the bowl. After drinking, she felt her weakened Generational Blessings would soon return, and her appearance would go back to normal.
Meanwhile, Richard and the gang arrived at Elizabeth's place.
Elizabeth didn't waste any time and got straight to drawing the Spellscrolls. She had told them they could come back tomorrow to pick them up, but they were too freaked out to wait.
So they sat around for two hours until Elizabeth finished the Spellscrolls. She reminded them about the time effectiveness again.
Kevin wanted to find an excuse to chat with Elizabeth, but after handing over the Spellscrolls, she kicked them out.
The three brothers had no choice but to leave with the Spellscrolls, realizing Elizabeth was still annoyed with them.
When they got home, they ran into Enrique, who was inexplicably starving and stuffing his face. He looked at them and mumbled, "What are you three up to?" He suddenly felt like he was being left out, which made him uncomfortable.
Richard lied smoothly, "We went out to have some fun and just got back." He glanced at the empty plates and snack bags on the table. "Are you that hungry?"
Arnold and Kevin noticed Enrique had eaten a ton. They asked worriedly, "Are you okay?" They'd never seen Enrique with such a big appetite before. Something seemed off.
