Chapter 99 Elizabeth Was Indeed Infuriating
Richard felt uneasy the moment he heard, "Elizabeth posted."
He didn't know why, but it bugged him.
He pulled out his phone and checked Elizabeth's page. Sure enough, it wasn't just a feeling.
[@Elizabeth: Welcome to my studio. Looking forward to a pleasant collaboration! @Emily @Elbert @Gilbert]
The last two names didn't matter, but seeing Emily tagged, Richard felt a wave of frustration.
"She did this on purpose. She timed her post."
He had told his team to start posting at ten.
Elizabeth posted five minutes early, perfectly timed.
His assistant noticed Richard's dark expression. "Yeah, it's too much of a coincidence."
Elizabeth had targeted Clark Entertainment before.
This time, she was a step ahead, predicting Richard's moves.
The assistant didn't say it, but Richard knew.
Elizabeth had figured out his timing habits.
She knew they'd use Emily to stir things up.
Richard took a deep breath. "Well played, Elizabeth. She started this studio just to mess with us."
He sneered, "No wonder she's a Clark; she's smart."
The assistant thought, 'Didn't you call Kevin stupid yesterday? So it's not about bloodline.'
If he weren't on the opposing side, he'd almost admire Elizabeth.
Only Elizabeth could frustrate Richard this much.
"Mr. Clark, should we still go ahead and guide public opinion?"
The team was waiting for an answer.
Richard thought for a moment. "Yes, I doubt she has solid evidence to help Emily."
He instructed, "Push more negative comments against them. Don't give Emily a chance to clear her name."
He didn't want those he had framed to make a comeback.
If Emily regained popularity, his two top artists would be overshadowed.
He couldn't let that happen.
The assistant cautiously asked, "What about Elizabeth?"
Richard glanced at him. "Like what I said before."
The assistant replied, "Yes, sir! Should we increase the intensity?"
Richard nodded. "Yes. Spread the word that Elizabeth is using 'destiny' to clear Emily's name. Tell everyone not to believe it."
He sneered, "If she can predict my moves, I can predict hers."
The assistant replied, "Yes, sir."
Hearing this, the assistant finally relaxed.
A lot of Emily's evidence had been destroyed, using methods that couldn't be recovered.
He didn't believe Elizabeth and her team could find it.
He had been curious about how Elizabeth planned to clear things up.
Now Richard's words made him understand.
Richard was still the clever one; Elizabeth would fail this time.
He then instructed the team to skip the previous exposure plans and move on to the next scheme.
Elizabeth was very popular recently, so her post got a lot of attention.
Seeing the three people her studio had signed, the entertainment industry was stunned.
The last two didn't have many scandals and had faded into obscurity.
So they didn't attract much attention.
But signing Emily, was Elizabeth serious?
Emily had been very popular but was now one of the most struggling actresses in the industry.
It seemed almost impossible for her to make a comeback.
How was Elizabeth going to clear this up?
Using tactics to clear her name? Or making Emily more infamous by being hated?
Probably the latter. After all, being infamous was a way to be known.
Plus, the other two artists had been out of the spotlight for so long that it would be tough for them to become popular again.
What was Elizabeth thinking?
Even discovering three new talents would have been better than these three.
But soon, everyone noticed a common thread.
All three had been suppressed and neglected by Clark Entertainment.
So was Elizabeth deliberately going against Clark Entertainment?
But she had no chance of winning!
Everyone was puzzled. Was Elizabeth out of her mind?
They believed Elizabeth was bound to lose this confrontation.
And with her openly opposing Clark Entertainment, would the Clark brothers let her off?
Probably not.
Sure enough, online sentiment began to stir.
Emily and the other two followed suit online, expressing their happiness in joining Elizabeth's studio and looking forward to working together.
Subsequently, their social media platforms were inundated with a deluge of derogatory remarks.
Emily bore the brunt of the onslaught. In addition to paid provocateurs, the followers of her ex-boyfriend Harold and the rival actress mounted a concerted effort to disparage her. Detractors and those with a distaste for Emily quickly jumped in to sling insults.
The prevailing attitude conveyed widespread disdain for an individual perceived as morally compromised—a label of homewrecker cast a shadow over her credibility as a public figure.
Collectively, the chorus of critics demanded her swift exit from the realm of entertainment.
"Emily Get Out of the Industry" even made the headlines.
Anyone who understood knew that the Clark Entertainment had made a move.
Richard's team, seeing the timing was right, prepared to expose that Elizabeth had secured a variety show guest spot for Emily.
Just as they were about to release the material, Elizabeth posted another update.
[@Elizabeth: Thank you, Anna, for giving Emily the opportunity. Looking forward to working together! @StarSpark Entertainment Company-Anna]
The Clark Entertainment operations team was silent. Did she have to time it so perfectly?
Frustration set in!
Everything they had prepared, except for hiring trolls, had been preemptively revealed by Elizabeth.
What were they supposed to do now?
If they had known, they wouldn't have wasted so much time and effort.
Richard, in his office, kept checking the timeline and the headlines.
When he saw that Elizabeth had preemptively revealed everything again, he smashed his phone.
Loren walked in just in time to see Richard losing control.
The phone landed near his feet, startling him.
He picked it up and checked; it wasn't broken.
He placed it on Richard's desk. "First time I've seen you lose control like this."
Richard's eyes were red with anger. "It's all because of Elizabeth."
Loren was taken aback. "What did she do this time?"
He had only seen the first post Elizabeth made today.
Richard picked up the phone and unlocked it. "See for yourself."
Loren read through it and fell silent.
After a while, he said, "I told you, signing Emily wasn't that simple. She predicted everything you were going to do and timed her posts."
Timing the posts was a huge insult.
Elizabeth was clearly mocking Richard, "I've seen through and predicted everything you're going to do. All your preparations were in vain."
At that moment, Loren understood why Richard was so uncontrollably angry.
Their little sister Elizabeth was indeed infuriating.
Richard gritted his teeth. "Let her be smug for now. It's not hard to guess what I'm going to do. Don't think she's the only one who can predict. I can too. Just wait and see how I counterattack her."
