Chapter 281 Her Line Quickly Grew
After Elizabeth gave the nod, Zachary grinned, "Alright, keep this seal safe, will you?"
Elizabeth gave a quick nod and stamped her aura on the seal. She tucked it into a small pouch hanging from her waist. Turning to the group, she said, "Hey guys, this is the new guy. I'm Elizabeth, that's Kevin, and that's Eugene. What's your name?"
Zachary gave a polite nod, "Name's Zachary Murphy. Nice to meet you all!"
Elizabeth beamed. "Nice to meet you! Now that we're all here, let's figure out how to make some cash." The others nodded in agreement.
Kevin turned to Elizabeth. "So, how are we gonna make money? Got any ideas?" Eugene and Zachary also looked at her, ready to follow her lead.
Elizabeth had been scoping things out since they hit the city. She was brimming with ideas. "I've noticed a lot of folks come into the city in their own clothes, but their makeup is all over the place." She paused, eyeing her new crew. "We could set up a stall to help folks with their makeup."
Aevum City, with its hotels and swarm of tourists, was the perfect spot for such a gig. Many travelers, clueless about local stylists, would definitely dig a quick makeover.
Eugene was the first to jump on board. "That's a solid idea."
Elizabeth looked at the three of them and asked, "So, what skills do you guys have?"
Eugene thought for a moment and then asked sheepishly, "Does singing and acting count?"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes at him. "Don't you also know how to play the recorder? Don't tell me you forgot." She had always been into classical music and wanted to learn the recorder after seeing someone play it as a kid. So she had dragged Eugene along to learn it with her.
Eugene had pretended to be reluctant but still tagged along. He even practiced secretly every day and then helped her out. Because of this, she used to rely on and like him quite a bit.
Eugene was stoked that Elizabeth still remembered he could play the recorder. He had learned it because she liked it and wanted to be with her. A gentle smile crept onto his usually stern face. "Of course, I remember," he replied softly.
Elizabeth said, "Then you can play the recorder to draw in customers."
Then, she turned to Kevin and Zachary. "What about you two?"
Kevin shrugged. "I can sing and dance, and I play modern instruments."
Elizabeth teased, "Then you can help attract customers. Your face is still useful."
Kevin went quiet, thinking, 'Should I be thankful I still have a handsome face, or else I might be ditched?'
Before Elizabeth could ask, Zachary chimed in, "I'm best at divination, but I can also play the harp. That cool?"
Elizabeth said, "Totally. But can you switch your robe? A white one would pop more when you play."
Zachary nodded. "Sure thing, someone gave me a few outfits from around here, and one of them's white. I'll go change."
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "You live in Aevum City?"
Zachary nodded. "Yeah, I live near the Divination Association."
Elizabeth pressed on, "Are you a certified diviner?"
Zachary nodded again. "Yep."
Elizabeth grinned, "Awesome. Let's get this show on the road."
First stop was the Aevum City management office to rent a temporary stall for the day.
Elizabeth had the production team hook them up with a set of makeup products and some cheap accessories. They also provided the recorder and harp.
Half an hour later, the stall was up and running. Tons of Elizabeth's fans showed up, shouting her name. Elizabeth smiled and waved, making them cheer even louder.
Zachary, now rocking a white robe and a vintage hairstyle, started playing the harp. His elegant and noble vibe grabbed everyone's attention, especially the girls.
Elizabeth gave him a nod, pleased. As Zachary played, his long hair tied in a simple bun, he looked like a nobleman from way back. A big crowd gathered, cheering and asking for more.
Eugene, dressed in a black robe and oozing cold, handsome charm, started playing the recorder. His look—often compared to a TV nobleman—caught many eyes, though the comments were mixed.
"Eugene did have the charm to attract Elizabeth back then. His looks and figure are outstanding."
"But that doesn't change his bad nature."
"Although I like his looks, I can't accept his bad behavior."
"These cheating bad guys, like Kevin, are only good for their looks."
"So let's focus more on Elizabeth and Zachary."
"It's a pity Raymond is in another group; otherwise, this would be the most attractive group. He is in a red robe, looking so dashing and carefree."
Eugene almost missed a note amidst the murmurs, feeling a bit helpless. He had become the poster boy for bad men, a title he found unfair but couldn't shake.
While Eugene played, Kevin scouted for girls whose makeup didn't match their outfits, offering Elizabeth's services. His attempts weren't always met kindly. One girl sneered, "You bad brother, stay away from us. Even without you saying, we'd still go to Elizabeth."
Kevin fell silent, thinking, 'Man, I'm so wronged. I've become the poster child for bad brothers. This title should belong to Enrique!'
As Elizabeth efficiently applied makeup and matched accessories for each customer, her line quickly grew, drawing more people in.
Arthur couldn't help but be impressed. Elizabeth was a natural at this. In the livestream, fans praised her skills, crossing over from other streams to watch the magic unfold.
Meanwhile, the other groups were struggling to attract attention or make any money.
