Chapter 157 You just realized that!
The four of them pulled out their phones and checked the group chat.
Elizabeth had tagged Ronald, Nancy, and Marlon, asking if they wanted to join her and Raymond to watch the fireworks.
Raymond posted a photo of a table full of snacks, inviting them warmly.
Ronald and the others agreed right away.
They all headed to Raymond's room.
Raymond even took a group photo and posted it in the chat.
Arnold's group stayed silent.
Raymond was clearly doing it on purpose.
Arnold fumed, "What's their deal? Only inviting the other group and ignoring us."
He didn't want to fight the crowd to complete the task.
Watching the fireworks from the room meant they could get perfect shots without the hassle.
Kevin sighed, "You just noticed?"
They'd been ignored since the first episode.
Brenda sighed dramatically for the live stream, "They've already formed a clique. Arnold, don't bother. They won't invite us."
Eugene glanced at Arnold. "Get a clue."
He put on a mask and headed into the crowd to complete the task.
Arnold grumbled, "They're too much!"
Kevin shrugged. "Nothing we can do. Let's just finish the task."
He put on a mask and followed Eugene.
Brenda was annoyed with Eugene and Kevin.
They were being excluded, and that was it?
Arnold, irritated, said, "Let's go, finish the task, and move on."
Brenda stayed silent.
Arnold was no help.
She had no choice but to follow.
Fans of the four were upset.
[Elizabeth and Raymond are too much, inviting the other group and ignoring this one.]
[Yeah, it's really rude.]
[They're openly forming a clique and isolating Arnold's group!]
Elizabeth's fans defended her.
[Raymond already said they're forming a clique!]
[They argued in the first episode, they don't like each other, why be fake?]
[Raymond and Elizabeth aren't the type to fake it.]
[Elizabeth and Raymond don't owe anyone anything. They paid for the hotel, they can invite who they want.]
[I like them this way. If they don't like someone, they don't have to pretend.]
[Well done!]
[This show is about being real, isn't this real?]
[Some fans still don't get it.]
Raymond and Elizabeth's fans didn't like Arnold's group and didn't want their idols to fake it.
Since they didn't get along, no need to pretend.
Arnold's fans were stunned. It was the first time they saw someone so openly isolating others.
The fireworks show started soon.
Elizabeth and the others sat by the window, took photos of the fireworks to complete the task.
They watched, ate snacks, and chatted.
Half an hour later, the fireworks ended.
Raymond checked his watch and suggested, "It's still early, should we hit a bar?"
He wanted more time with Elizabeth.
Elizabeth, always indulgent with those she liked, said, "Sure!"
Gilbert laughed, "I'll follow your lead."
Marlon grinned, "I'm in too."
Ronald and Nancy were on board too.
Elizabeth checked the place out online, and they all headed to a reasonably priced bar.
Once they settled in, Raymond snapped another photo and posted it in the group chat, clearly trying to provoke Arnold's group.
Arnold's crew had just escaped the crowd and were heading back to the hotel when they saw Raymond's bar photo.
Annoyed, Arnold suggested, "Let's hit the bar too."
Kevin asked, "You mean the same bar?"
Arnold raised an eyebrow, "Why not? If they can go, so can we."
Kevin sighed, "Do we have enough cash?"
Brenda checked online, "This bar isn't pricey. As long as we don't order the top-shelf stuff, we're good."
She hoped Arnold would step up and regain some dignity, so she was all for it.
Eugene, wanting to see Elizabeth, agreed, "Let's go."
Kevin, not thrilled but with no choice, followed.
The bar was a quick ten-minute taxi ride away.
They found an empty table right next to Elizabeth's group and sat down.
Arnold walked over to Elizabeth's group and said, "What a coincidence!"
He just wanted to annoy them.
Raymond replied, "It really is."
Elizabeth looked amused, "Welcome!"
Arnold, the most impulsive of the Clark brothers, had walked right into their trap.
Elizabeth had chosen this bar for its value and to set up Arnold. Raymond had caught on without her saying a word.
Arnold sensed something off in their attitudes, feeling they weren't annoyed but had some hidden agenda. He awkwardly smiled and returned to his seat.
They drank for a while, and then a pretty lady took the stage, inviting guests to sing and compete—a feature of the bar.
Each table had red and green buttons. If the singing was good, the patrons should press green. If more than a third pressed green, the singer continued. If it was bad, the patrons should press red. If more than half pressed red, the staff would ask the singer to leave. The two with the most green votes would have a final showdown.
The bar buzzed with excitement as the singing started. The lady spoke in Veridianian, and Raymond translated for their table.
Elizabeth turned to Gilbert, "You go up, I believe in you."
She knew Arnold thought he was better than Gilbert. This was a chance to let the bar guests and live audience judge.
Based on her understanding of Arnold, if Gilbert went up, Arnold would follow, confident he could outshine him.
Gilbert, understanding Elizabeth's plan, felt warm inside. "Okay, I'll go first."
He wouldn't let her down. He stood up and took the stage.
The bar guests cheered for Gilbert.
Arnold watched with disdain, deciding he would go up next and outdo Gilbert, showing Elizabeth she had misjudged him.
