Chapter 404 What Caused the Situation in My Family?

Over the next couple of weeks, Elizabeth whipped up some aromatherapy for Zephyr. But since he had to cover for Ethan, he stayed put in the hospital.

Every few days, Elizabeth would drop by to see Zephyr and Percy. The show they had worked on started airing, and thanks to the killer costumes, props, and talented cast, plus a gripping plot, it became an instant hit. Not just the leads, but even the supporting actors started gaining fans.

Elizabeth's appearance blew everyone away. Her fans flooded the comments, calling her stunning and praising her beauty. This only made her even more popular.

Elbert, who played the second male lead, also got a huge following thanks to his mature acting and that classy, elegant look with glasses. He nailed the role of a noble young master.

Raymond, who played the third male lead, did an awesome job as the rebellious young master with a heart of gold, winning over many fans. People were even shipping the second female lead with the third male lead.

Elizabeth's popularity shot through the roof. Her stills were all over short videos, and the songs she sang in the drama were getting clipped and shared online. Both tracks even topped the charts on major music apps.

Elizabeth was already famous from variety shows, but this second female lead role made her even more of a sensation.

Some folks had previously trashed Elizabeth's acting, saying she was only good at variety shows and that she was spreading herself too thin by opening a studio. They claimed her acting had probably gone downhill.

But after watching the drama, these critics started to appreciate her skills. She brought the character to life even better than the script's second female lead was written. Her acting was top-notch, showing off multiple sides of the character.

Elizabeth played a dancer and a double agent, switching up her demeanor depending on who she was with. With her beauty, killer figure, and a wardrobe full of stunning dresses, she was simply mesmerizing.

Thanks to her skyrocketing popularity, Elizabeth didn't have to hunt for opportunities; scripts were coming to her. Her performance in variety shows was so good that she got tons of invites for those too.

Elizabeth carefully went through the scripts and variety show offers, picking out the best ones. Even if she didn't take them, she could hook up the artists in her studio with opportunities. She found some great scripts and two promising variety shows.

She reached out to the folks in charge of the scripts and secured audition slots for her studio's artists. Two of them even landed roles.

Not only did Elizabeth snag a lead role in a new drama for Elbert, but she also got him a spot as a regular on a variety show.

Elbert, who had just recently blown up, needed to keep appearing on variety shows to stay in the public eye. Otherwise, he'd be forgotten fast. So getting on a variety show to build a fan base was crucial. His last guest appearance was a hit, and the director noticed his rising popularity. With Elizabeth's influence, they decided to cast him.

After Emily wrapped up her last drama, Elizabeth landed her a movie role, and she was about to join the crew soon. Elizabeth also got a spot on a high-profile variety show for a newcomer signed by Shirley.

Nabbing all these great opportunities one after another put Elizabeth in the spotlight in the industry. Her skills were undeniable. If she hadn't started her own studio, big entertainment companies would be fighting to have her as their top manager. More and more artists wanted to sign with or switch to her studio.

Seeing Elizabeth blow up again and her studio thriving, Brenda was green with envy every single day.

But Elizabeth hit a snag while trying to secure a second male lead role in a movie for Quentin Sinclair, a newly signed artist in her studio who wasn't very popular. Quentin used to be with Clark Entertainment, but his manager and a so-called friend sabotaged him, stealing several of his opportunities.

He also ticked off a company shareholder, leading to him being blacklisted and ignored. He hadn't been in the public eye for a long time, had no good works to his name, and was pushing forty, so naturally, he had few fans left.

But like Elbert, Quentin didn't give up. When he had no roles, he kept honing his acting skills. He still wanted to act, and with life pressures mounting, he reached out to Elizabeth's studio.

By chance, Elizabeth was back in Clifftonshireburg and had a chat with Quentin. After getting a sense of his potential, she knew he had good character and signed him.

Elizabeth fought for this second male lead role not just because she liked the script and character, but also to give Quentin a fresh start and reintroduce him to the public.

The director wanted a face-to-face meeting with Elizabeth, so she took Quentin along.

In the private room, Elizabeth and Quentin got there first. After a bit, the tired-looking director Cassius Blackwood walked in. Cassius was in his fifties, a well-known and successful director with many classic films under his belt.

Cassius apologized, "Sorry, I got held up at the hospital, so I'm late."

Elizabeth smiled, "No worries, it's normal to get delayed sometimes." As soon as she saw Cassius, she had a feeling she knew why he wanted a face-to-face meeting.

After Cassius sat down, Elizabeth spoke up, "Mr. Blackwood, have your family members been having a lot of accidents lately?"

Cassius paused with the teacup in his hand. He smiled bitterly, "Ms. Clark, you're really something, you can see that right away. Can you tell what's causing the trouble in my family?" The main reason he set up this private meeting was to get some advice on divination.

Elizabeth replied, "Both your parents are in the hospital, your son got seriously ill a few days ago and is also hospitalized. Your wife broke her leg this morning and is in the hospital too. I don't sense any bad vibes from you, so the problem is probably with your family's cemetery."

Cassius was stunned. His tired, dim eyes suddenly had a spark of hope. He sighed, "Ms. Clark, you're incredible, just one meeting and you nailed the source of my family's problem." Someone else had also told him that his family's cemetery had issues that needed fixing.
