Chapter 318 Stop Pretending, Everyone Sees Through You
As soon as Kevin dropped those words, Brenda was floored, and everyone else was just as shocked. It was the first time they'd heard Kevin talk to Brenda like that. But hey, he wasn't wrong. Maybe he finally saw Brenda for who she really was.
Brenda, who had been bawling her eyes out, suddenly froze. She couldn't keep crying, but she couldn't stop either. She was fuming inside; how could Kevin roast her like that?
Enrique had always been good to her, so of course, she was worried. But she knew he wasn't gonna die, so what did it matter if she showed up a bit late?
She bit her lip and looked at Kevin, saying, "Kevin, I know you're mad at me. I was really scared and felt guilty because it was my fault Enrique got hurt. If you wanna blame me, fine. I just wanna wait here." She then said firmly, "I'll only be at ease when I see him safe."
Her words sounded touching, but no one bought it.
Kevin scoffed, "Enrique's hurt bad, how could he come out safe? Are you just that chill, or do you not care? What's the point of all this talk? When you threw him under the bus, you didn't seem so worried."
He took a deep breath and went on, "Brenda, stop treating us like idiots. Your actions showed us that all the years we cared for you were a joke. We can't deal with you anymore. I'm scared of you, so I wanna stay away. Can you get a clue?
"If anyone else did what you did, they'd be too ashamed to show up here crying fake tears. Only you, someone so heartless, would have the nerve to keep pretending.
"Enrique's not just physically hurt this time; he's heartbroken because of you. He won't trust you again, so don't think you can fool him. Before he went into surgery, he said he didn't wanna see you, so you should leave." Kevin let it all out, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders.
He'd been holding in a lot of anger. Seeing Brenda's fake act, he couldn't keep quiet anymore. How could someone be so shameless?
Hearing Kevin's rant, Richard and Arnold, who were watching the live stream, felt satisfied. Among their crew, Kevin was the chillest, and it was rare for him to get this mad. They had to admit, Kevin nailed it
They also wanted to tell Brenda to cut the fake crying. Did she really think tears could always work on them? They weren't that dumb. Plus, her constant crying was just gross. Enrique wasn't even dead, and her nonstop sobbing was just too much.
At the Hospital.
It was the first time Brenda got such a harsh scolding from Kevin, who had always been sweet to her. She widened her eyes, totally in shock, and said, "Kevin, how could you talk to me like that? I've been like a sister to you since we were kids. I'm hurt by Enrique's actions too, but how could you say such things to me?"
With a crowd of people and live-stream viewers watching, Kevin straight-up called Brenda heartless and said he wanted nothing to do with her. Brenda started to freak out, feeling like her brothers were slipping out of her grasp. How did it come to this?
She regretted her earlier moves; she should've waited for Enrique to step up and protect her. Then maybe they wouldn't be blaming her like this.
Hearing Brenda's words, Kevin first glanced at the calm-faced Elizabeth. Then he turned to Brenda and said, "It's because you grew up with us, and we loved you more than Elizabeth. We even forced Elizabeth to cut ties and leave home because of your hints and provocations. But how did you repay us? You always talked a good game but never backed it up. Every time something went down, you played innocent, and we took the fall. Even Enrique got thrown under the bus by you.
After all this, we've seen who you really are. So stop pretending; everyone sees through you."
He looked around at the people who came along and said, "Ask anyone here, who doesn't know your deal?"
Raymond jumped in, "We all know, so we always try to steer clear of her. Otherwise, we'd be the ones getting screwed." He was a pro at making people uncomfortable.
Natalie looked at Brenda with some fear and said, "She is vicious and scary. She tripped me on purpose before; if it weren't for Elizabeth saving me, I'd be in the hospital now. Brenda, you can drop the act; we all see through it."
Raymond nodded. "Every time you pull this crap, aren't you tired of pretending? We're done with it, and so are the folks watching the live stream. Your image is trashed; you're probably getting roasted in the headlines right now. Just cut the act and do what actually lights you up."
Brenda went silent, wanting to shut Raymond and Natalie up. She knew her reputation was in the gutter. So she decided to go all out; if she couldn't clear her name, she might as well get attention by being the villain.
She glared at Raymond and Natalie, sneering, "You guys are just ganging up on me because of Elizabeth. Say what you want, but I won't be at ease until Enrique comes out and I see him."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes, saying, "Seriously? Me again?"
Raymond was speechless. "Why drag Elizabeth into this? Isn't it your own personality that makes everyone dislike you? You were putting on such a phony act on the show, who's gonna vibe with that? Didn't you hear Arthur say this show is about being real? Out of all the guests, you're the most fake; it's natural for everyone to reject and dislike you. Why don't you take a look in the mirror?"
Even Nancy couldn't hold back, adding, "Exactly, why don't we reject Natalie and others, but stay away from you? It's because you're too fake, with too many schemes; we just can't stand you."
