Chapter 189 Luring Out Her Enemies
Percy knew Samuel was testing him.
He said, "She's not very likable."
That was indeed his impression and feeling toward Brenda.
Even with the knowledge that Brenda was his half-sister, it did not alter his sentiments.
On the contrary, Eugene and Rebecca from the Baker family were much more agreeable to him.
Samuel looked at Percy as if he still didn't know about his relationship with Brenda.
He felt relieved. "Then it seems you two can't be together."
Percy laughed, "I don't want to be with Brenda, nor do I want to be associated with her. Otherwise, I might be unlucky. You're a prime example."
Samuel fell silent. The conversation couldn't continue.
So he stopped talking to Percy, closed his eyes, and pretended to rest.
Actually, he used a special secret divination to imprint a brief account of today's event into his ring.
Percy glanced at the gemstone ring that glowed coldly, closed his eyes, and didn't stop him.
In the hospital, Brenda found it strange that Samuel suddenly ran off.
Wasn't Samuel usually very ruthless? It turned out he could be scared, too.
Brenda wasn't worried about Samuel's safety.
She just thought about what Samuel had said and what she needed to do.
Brenda rubbed the bracelet on her wrist; her face no longer hurt at all.
The pain in her forehead and her broken limbs had also lessened significantly.
This bracelet was indeed useful.
She couldn't help but complain inwardly, wondering why Samuel, despite being so skilled in divination and spellcasting, wouldn't teach her.
Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to deal with Elizabeth.
At the thought of Elizabeth made her angry.
Today, she could clearly feel that her Generational Blessings had been weakened a lot.
This meant she had lost quite a few fans.
This couldn't go on.
Remembering Samuel's advice, she took out her phone and sent messages to Arnold and Kevin.
She said she was scared of being alone in the hospital and wanted them to come and keep her company.
She also sent a pitiful apology message to Arnold.
At the bar, it was already quite late, and despite the continued drinking of the two people, the live stream had come to an end.
Arnold and Kevin's phones started to buzz with notifications.
After reading the messages, they exchanged glances.
Arnold asked, "Did Brenda message you?"
Kevin nodded, "Yeah!"
He then asked, "Are you going to the hospital?"
Arnold was still angry. "I'm not going. What about you?"
Kevin shook his head. "No either."
After today's events, he didn't know how to face Brenda.
He definitely couldn't continue caring for and pamper her like before.
Arnold sighed, "A woman's heart changes so quickly. I never thought Brenda could be so scheming."
He was even more heartbroken that she pushed him out to take the blame without hesitation.
He wasn't afraid of being scolded online, but he couldn't accept being deceived by Brenda, whom he had loved for so many years.
Kevin also sighed, "Yeah, who would have thought of that? From now on, we should keep our distance from her."
Arnold agreed, "That's the only way."
Brenda waited for several minutes but didn't get a reply.
She couldn't help but call Arnold.
Arnold saw the call but neither answered nor declined it.
He didn't want to go to the hospital to face Brenda.
She called several times, but he didn't pick up.
Brenda then called Kevin.
Kevin also didn't answer, pretending not to see it.
This made Brenda very angry.
Meanwhile, she felt a kind of panic she had never felt before.
The reason she dared to do what she did was because of the love and care from her brothers.
If they no longer pampered her like before, she would have nothing.
No, this couldn't happen.
So she kept calling them non-stop.
The two at the bar, annoyed, put their phones on silent.
This left Brenda anxious and sleepless all night.
She kept thinking about how to win back the love of Richard, Arnold, and Kevin.
The next morning, just as Percy and the others were getting ready to leave their suite, Samuel suddenly clutched his stomach, complaining about not feeling well, and rushed to the bathroom.
When he came out, Percy glanced at the trash can in the bathroom.
Seeing Ryan about to go in, he pretended to check his watch and reminded him that they were running out of time.
Ryan checked the time and, realizing they might miss their flight if there was traffic, decided not to go in.
He followed Percy and took Samuel to the airport to return home.
Not long after they left, a person dressed as a hotel cleaner entered the room.
He rummaged through the trash can in the bathroom, retrieved the ring, and quickly left.
About an hour later, the hotel cleaner came to clean the room.
Elizabeth had just returned from breakfast and greeted the cleaner.
She learned that he was about to clean the room.
She said she wanted to see what the suite looked like, and if it were nice, she would book it for the night.
Since the guests had already checked out, the cleaner didn't stop her.
Elizabeth walked around the room and finally paused in the bathroom.
She noticed a faint aura of a divination artifact in the trash can.
She realized that the cleaner she had seen earlier had a problem.
It seemed that Samuel had found a way to send out the message that he had been captured by the special department and taken back home.
He had probably also sent out information about her from the previous day.
It was likely that Percy had deliberately let him succeed in sending the message.
She pondered whether Percy was trying to save himself or continue doing evil.
Why did he join the special department?
She had a feeling that Percy was a key breakthrough point.
Despite the increasing complexity of the situation, she was starting to get some clues.
This was a good start.
As for her information being sent out, she wasn't afraid.
Without bait, how could she attract those who wanted to harm her?
Thanks to the generous prize money from the racing competition.
Today, Elizabeth's group didn't go out looking for work.
Instead, they took their live streaming audience to visit some famous spots in Veridiania.
They also ate at some local specialty restaurants.
In the evening, they played games with another group.
Brenda had to withdraw from this episode of the live streaming due to her injuries.
Eugene and his two companions didn't try hard to perform, so they went to a restaurant to play piano and violin for money.
One day day, Arthur notified the three groups to gather at a square, saying a new temporary guest was coming.
The three groups arrived at the square on time.
They saw Arthur walking over with a sweet-looking, cute young girl.
He introduced her to them, "This is the new temporary guest, Natalie Turner."
