Chapter 491 Epilogue: Life in the Past (Part 1)
In the Clark Mansion.
Betty received a call from the kidnapper and immediately contacted her sons to go together.
Eugene happened to be with Richard, and upon hearing the news, they also rushed over.
When the group arrived, they saw Brenda and Elizabeth with their hands tied behind their backs.
The two were sitting side by side on a long bench.
The kidnapper was holding a gun, pointing it at them.

Elizabeth felt life slipping away and remembered what Wayne had said.

She regretted not finding the person who harmed Wayne and avenging him. She regretted not seeing Rebecca one last time.

So she looked at them with a cold and desolate gaze.
Using her last bit of strength, she said, "You chose to let me die. I remember that."
"Death is fine. Consider it repaying you for raising me. From now on, we owe each other nothing, and we have no relationship."
As for Eugene, he hurt her the most.
Before she died, she didn't want to say anything more to him.
Then Elizabeth closed her eyes, and her life began to fade.
Betty and the others, along with Eugene, didn't expect this to happen.
The kidnapper's words and the shooting happened so quickly that they were all stunned.
By the time they reacted, Elizabeth had already been shot and was lying on the ground, her life uncertain.
The kidnapper, knowing he couldn't escape, shot himself after Elizabeth fell.
The Clarks and Eugene looked terrified and couldn't help but shout, "No, Elizabeth!"
Eugene rushed forward.
He held Elizabeth with unprecedented panic on his face, "Elizabeth, I'll take you to the hospital. Hang in there."
Then he picked up Elizabeth and ran outside.
Betty and the five sons of the Clark Family also panicked and hurriedly followed.
Eugene reached the car, his hands and feet trembling as he tried to open the door.
Waiting for an ambulance would take too long; driving to the nearest hospital would be faster.

Richard, driving, felt weak all over but forced himself to stay calm and drive.
He pushed the car to its maximum speed, and they reached the nearest hospital in just over ten minutes.
Eugene rushed into the emergency room with Elizabeth, "Quick, save her."
Soon, the emergency doctors came running.
They had Eugene place Elizabeth on a hospital bed and began examining her.
They found something wrong with Elizabeth; she wasn't breathing.
The doctor checked Elizabeth's breath and found none.
He lifted her eyelids and saw dilated pupils.
He used an instrument to check Elizabeth's heart. There was no heartbeat.
He could only look at Eugene and the others with regret, "She has passed away."
Eugene's eyes widened, "How is that possible? No way!"
"Doctor, quickly take her to surgery. She's not dead, just unconscious."
Kevin also said, "Yes, Elizabeth can't be dead."
"Please save her!"
The doctor knew Elizabeth's family couldn't accept the truth.
To be sure and responsible for Elizabeth, he had the nurses take her to the operating room.
They used instruments to check again and began some resuscitation measures, like cardiac resuscitation.
By this time, Betty and the others had also arrived at the hospital.
As soon as they arrived, the doctor came out of the operating room.
He shook his head and said, "I'm sorry, we've done our best. Please don't be too sad."
These words were unacceptable to Eugene and the Clarks.
"No, you must be joking."
"She's so capable. How could she be dead?"
The doctor said, "The gunshot wound hit a vital spot. She likely died instantly. Please don't be too sad."
