Chapter 486 Too Bad

Loren looked at Brenda's pitiful act and didn't feel as sympathetic as he used to.

Honestly, it always felt like Brenda was not his sister, but an older relative.

However, he still nodded and said, "Alright, I'll have one last meal with you."

What he meant was that Brenda shouldn't come to him for meals anymore.

After they finished eating, he would arrange for his secretary to send Brenda abroad in the next couple of days.

This way, she wouldn't be oppressed by Betty anymore and wouldn't have to worry about her life for a while.

He would fulfill their years of sibling relationship, and they wouldn't need to have any more contact in the future.

Brenda's eyes lit up with joy, "Thank you, Loren!"

Loren drove to a high-end restaurant.

At the restaurant, Loren didn't ask for a private room; he deliberately chose a table in the corner of the main hall.

He was afraid that if they were alone in a private room, Brenda might cling to him, which would be troublesome.

Brenda understood why Loren didn't want a private room, and her resentment grew.

Next, she ate while reminiscing about their past sibling moments.

Loren just listened quietly, occasionally smiling in response.

After Brenda had said enough, he wiped his mouth and smiled, "Brenda, a person can't live in memories their whole life."

"No matter how beautiful the memories are, you still have to move forward."

Indeed, he wasn't interested in these things.

Brenda fell silent, feeling bad about Loren.

She suppressed her annoyance, nodded, and smiled, "You're right."

"After this time, I'll keep the memories to myself and never bring them up again." She raised her glass, "Loren, here's to you."

With her other hand, she reached into her bag and grabbed a poisonous insect.

Loren raised his glass and clinked it with hers.

Brenda pulled back her hand to drink but accidentally knocked over a vase on the table.

The wine glass fell and spilled a lot of red wine on Loren's sleeve.

Brenda grabbed a napkin from the table, hurriedly got up, and sat next to Loren to help him wipe his sleeve.

She even pressed her whole body against him, "Loren, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

At the same time, she threw the poisonous insect onto his neck.

Just then, Elise burst in with two bodyguards.

She rushed to the table, grabbed Brenda's hair, and slapped her several times. "You bitch, you really have no shame, in trying to seduce my fiancé."

She picked up the wine on the table and poured it over Brenda's head.

Then she dragged Brenda by the hair from her seat and started beating and choking her.

"Bitch, back when you were in the Clark Family, you were always trying to seduce the heirs of the Clark Family ."

"Hugging and cuddling with them, making headlines wasn't enough for you."

"And now you want to seduce my fiancé? Look at yourself, how could he possibly be interested in you?"

"And you look old enough to be Loren's mom. How do you have the nerve to try to seduce him?"

She grabbed Brenda's head, hitting and slamming it against the ground.

She had been fighting since she was young, so she knew how to do it.

When Brenda was still in the Clark Family, she had wanted to beat her up.

She couldn't stand Brenda always acting coy with the heirs of the Clark Family, hugging and cuddling with them.

She kept a close watch on Loren and had people keep an eye on Brenda to prevent her from seducing Loren.

As soon as she heard that Brenda had asked Loren to have a meal alone, she followed them.

She sat in another corner, observing.

She noticed that Loren remained reserved, spoke little, and kept his distance. She was very satisfied with that.

Indeed, when Loren was with someone, he wouldn't be intimate with another woman.

She hadn't planned to intervene, but when she saw Brenda deliberately spill the wine and then press her body against Loren, she couldn't hold back.

She took this opportunity to teach Brenda a lesson and vent her long-held anger.

And to show Loren that she wasn't someone to be trifled with.

Brenda was too focused on handling the poisonous insect to be on guard.

When Elise started hitting her, she didn't react in time.

Brenda was dragged to the ground and beaten, "Ah, what are you doing?"

She screamed and scratched at Elise, "Let go of me, you're the bitch, you used me to scheme against Loren."

"You pretended to be drunk just to get close to Loren and be with him."

"You're the shameless bitch."

But as soon as Brenda fought back, Elise's bodyguards grabbed her hands.

Elise was even more furious at Brenda's words.

Brenda had always had her eyes on Loren, and Elise would never let her succeed.

If Loren weren't there, she would have used the steak knife on the table to ruin Brenda's face.

But she could have someone else do it later.

Brenda, held by the bodyguards, continued to be beaten by Elise.

Unable to break free, she couldn't help but shout, "Loren, save me."

Loren watched coldly for a moment, then slowly spoke when he heard Brenda's cries. "Elise, stop."

Elise still held Brenda's hair and looked up at him, "Do you feel sorry for her?"

Loren chuckled, reaching out to smooth Elise's hair behind her ear.

With a touch of tenderness in his eyes, he said, "I'm not feeling sorry for her; I'm worried you'll get tired and it won't be good for the baby."

Loren, with his refined and handsome looks, spoke so gently that Elise felt a sweetness in her heart.

She forcefully knocked Brenda's head a few more times before letting go and standing up.

She sat next to Loren, wrapping her arm around his, "Honey, you're the best."

She deliberately leaned her head on Loren's shoulder.

She looked down at Brenda, declaring her dominance, "See, Loren doesn't want to deal with you at all."

She added a warning with a cold snort, "If I see you bothering him again, you'll pay the price."

Brenda looked up at Elise with anger in her eyes but knew she was helpless against her.

What hurt and disappointed her the most was that Loren watched her get beaten and said he was worried about Elise. He was so heartless.

"Loren, are you just going to watch her beat me?"

"We are innocent; she's falsely accusing me."

Loren looked at Brenda and said calmly, "We are indeed innocent, and Elise misunderstood because you came over to help me wipe my sleeve."

He didn't believe that Brenda accidentally knocked over the wine glass.

He had seen too many women use such tricks in front of him.

Brenda had become more and more despicable, trying to cling to him with such methods.

His feelings for her had always been purely sibling-like, never anything more.

Especially now, he even felt a bit annoyed with Brenda.

Seeing Loren protect Elise made Brenda feel even worse. That used to be her treatment.

She looked at Loren with a hurt expression, stubbornly silent.

Loren looked at Brenda, her face bruised, soaked in red wine, her makeup ruined, making her look even older, and felt nothing but disgust.

He said to Elise, "Have your bodyguards take her back."

Elise was very pleased with Loren's attitude.

She instructed one of the bodyguards, "Take her back."

Then she left with Loren, her head held high.

Leaving Brenda behind, her fists clenched, her head down, eyes filled with hatred.
