Chapter 315 Of Course They Regret It, So Do They

Kevin was totally freaked out seeing Enrique like that. Was Brenda's drama really messing with his head this much?

"Enrique, you good?" he blurted out.

Enrique, wincing in pain, shot back, "Hell no, I'm hurting bad."

Kevin, worried but also annoyed, snapped, "Man, you're such a fool. I kept telling you, but you never listened. You got tricked into wearing those dumb divination trinkets, and now you're paying the price with those Generational Blessings. When will you learn?"

If Enrique had just stayed away from Brenda, none of this would've gone down.

Especially during the competition, he kept getting hurt. It was the perfect excuse to chill, but no, he had to listen to Brenda and push through.

"Did you ever think toughing it out would end like this?" Kevin asked.

Enrique gave a bitter smile, saying, "How could I have known? But now I see her for what she is—cold and heartless. No matter what you guys said, I just couldn't see it before."

He was confused, adding, "We treated her so well since she came to our house. Why would she treat us like this?"

Kevin thought for a second, then said, "Maybe we spoiled her too much. She thinks our sacrifices are just her right. It's not about how she was raised; it's just who she is. When we're nice, she takes it for granted. The moment we're not, she feels wronged and resents us."

Hearing Kevin's words, Enrique suddenly got it.

Was that it? No wonder he was hurt; Brenda didn't care about his injuries but felt wronged by his words. She was probably mad at him again. All those years of caring for her were just a joke.

He thought for a moment and asked, "Kevin, if Elizabeth hadn't gone missing and been living with us, how do you think she would have handled this situation?"

Kevin didn't expect that. He thought for a moment, then said, "She would've done everything to protect us. She wouldn't drag us into this mess. Even if she had been lost and then found, she would've made the same choice."

He added, "By asking this and comparing Brenda to Elizabeth, you already know the answer, right?"

Enrique's bitter smile deepened. "Yeah."

He imagined different scenarios, but none where Elizabeth would act like Brenda.

"Kevin, I regret it. I regret treating Elizabeth the way I did because of Brenda," Enrique said.

Elizabeth was his real sister, and he had more than a decade of feelings for Brenda, which made him act recklessly and hurt Elizabeth. In the end, it was just karma.

Kevin also smiled bitterly, saying, "Yeah, we all regret it. But what's the point? The damage is done, and Elizabeth won't forgive us."

He then asked, "Just like if I asked you now, would you forgive Brenda and treat her the same?"

Enrique felt even more pained, replying, "No. No wonder Elizabeth treats us this way. I used to not get it, thinking we're family, bound by blood, why would she cut ties? Now, after this, I finally get it. Only by going through it yourself can you understand why she made that choice. But, I figured it out way too late."

After all that talk, filled with regret and remorse, Enrique started hacking up a storm. His face twisted in agony. Any sibling feelings he had for Brenda were totally gone.

Seeing this, Kevin clammed up, looking super worried. Enrique's injuries were gnarly, and he had no clue if they were life-threatening.

Overseas, Richard and Arnold were floored by what went down at Soule. They figured Enrique would have some bad luck, but this was next-level.

Arnold, with a complicated look, said, "Brenda's heart is ice cold."

This was something an enemy would do, yet she did it to the guy who loved her the most, Enrique.

Richard was also blown away by Brenda's cruelty. "She really is heartless." He was so glad he hadn't gotten mixed up with Brenda; otherwise...

Arnold said, "From Enrique's reaction, he seems to be seeing things clearly now." That last bit showed Enrique was done with Brenda.

Richard sneered, "If he still defends Brenda after this, then he's a lost cause."

Then they saw what went down in the ambulance. After hearing Enrique's words, they were deeply troubled. A heavy sense of regret hit them hard.

But it was too late for regrets; the damage was done. There was no way to make things right with Elizabeth. Their own nasty actions had led to this, and no matter how much they begged, they had to face the music.

Seeing Enrique's pale, twisted face in pain, they were both freaked out and worried about him. They called Kevin, asking him to keep them in the loop about Enrique's condition. Even though they wanted to see Enrique suffer, they didn't want him to suffer this much.

At this moment, Richard and Arnold felt a new level of disgust for Brenda, something they hadn't felt before. Before, they were just disappointed and wanted to keep their distance. Now, their revulsion was real and deep; they wanted her out of their lives ASAP, seeing her as a real threat.

In a different country, the Clark parents were also shocked by what they saw on the live broadcast. They never expected Brenda to pull something like this. They were furious and worried about Enrique's injuries.

Paul, who was about to turn off his phone, didn't. Instead, he called Kevin to keep them updated on Enrique's condition.

Then he looked at Betty, who didn't look too good, and said, "I know you were hesitant to send Brenda away before, which is why I suggested not doing it.

You even went the extra mile to find a tutor for her, not just for her benefit, but to prove a point to me. But after all this, Brenda really can't stay in the house anymore. I'll have my secretary book a flight back to Aevum City today to see Enrique."

Enrique's severe injuries had him really concerned.

Betty's eyes flickered. Paul's words had exposed her previous thoughts, making her a bit embarrassed.

This time, Brenda had really crossed the line, so she nodded. "Okay, I'll listen to you. After this show ends and she gets back to Clifftonshireburg, I'll send her away."

She didn't really want to go back to the country; this incident would surely make Bishop and Samantha at The Clark Villa chew them out again. And their relatives and friends would probably gossip about it too.

But since Paul wanted to go back, she couldn't argue. Of course, she was also a bit worried about Enrique's injuries.
