Chapter 358 Is This to Confuse the Opponent?
In the Evening, Paul and Kevin lugged their shopping bags to pick up Zachary.
Zachary sat there, cool as a cucumber. "Let's hang out a bit longer," he said.
Paul and Kevin figured he meant to chill for a while, so they plopped down and waited with him.
After about ten minutes, Zachary got up. "Alright, let's roll." Paul and Kevin trailed behind him out of the yard.
Just as they shut the door, they spotted Elizabeth coming their way. The two were taken aback again. Zachary was something else, even predicting Elizabeth's arrival. They couldn't help but be impressed by how special she was to him.
Elizabeth wasn't fazed that Zachary and the others came out right on cue. In Aevum City, no one could slip past Zachary's radar.
She greeted them with a smile. "Hey, Zachary!" She totally ignored Paul and Kevin, treating them like they were invisible. This left Paul and Kevin feeling pretty bummed.
The four of them hopped in a car to the main entrance, then switched to another ride Paul had set up to get to the hospital.
On the way, Elizabeth and Zachary chatted in hushed tones. They talked about history and divination spells, leaving Paul and Kevin out of the loop.
Watching the two of them laugh and chat, Paul and Kevin couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. Elizabeth was so cold to them but completely different with Zachary. They longed for the days when she was kind and caring towards them.
At the Hospital, Paul asked the nurse to leave and locked the door from the inside, worried about making noise and getting interrupted.
Enrique's face lit up with joy and excitement when he saw Zachary and Elizabeth. Was he finally going to escape his miserable state?
Zachary pulled out the stuff Paul had bought. First, he folded a paper figure. With a few quick strokes, he sketched a simple likeness of Brenda. "Bring me Brenda's hair and blood," he said.
Kevin quickly grabbed the items from the drawer and handed them over.
Zachary placed Brenda's hair inside the paper figure. He dipped the Spellscroll pen in her blood and wrote her birth time on the front of the paper figure. On the back, he swiftly drew a Spellscroll symbol.
Elizabeth watched closely. She noticed the Spellscroll Zachary drew was brimming with strong energy. Once divination masters hit an intermediate level, they could cultivate a type of energy within themselves. Using this energy to draw Spellscrolls had a totally different effect compared to those without it.
The special Spellscrolls and protective gem Spellscrolls she had made for her troublesome brothers were all infused with energy. But compared to Zachary's, they were way inferior. Still, she believed it wouldn't take her many years to catch up to him. After all, she had traveled to so many worlds, and her understanding and knowledge were unmatched.
Next, Zachary folded another paper figure, this time drawing Enrique. He also asked for his hair and blood, but the Spellscroll symbol on the back of this paper figure was different.
"Elizabeth, light the oil lamp. Draw two guiding Spellscrolls and stick them on. If someone tries to help Brenda extinguish the oil lamp, it's up to you to handle it," Zachary instructed.
Elizabeth was a bit taken aback. With Zachary's skill level, he didn't need her help at all. There had to be a deeper reason for this. Maybe he was trying to throw off their opponent?
She didn't argue. "Alright, I'll take care of the oil lamp."
She pulled out two oil lamps from her pocket, drew two Spellscrolls, wrote Brenda and Enrique's birth times on them, and stuck them on the lamps.
Then they both sat down. Zachary glanced at Paul and the others in the room. "No matter what you see or what happens, don't make a sound. Otherwise, leave."
Paul and the others nodded. "Got it, we'll keep quiet." They had never seen a divination master in action before and were eager to watch.
Zachary ignored them after that. He recited a spell and pointed at the two paper figures on the table. Paul and Kevin were stunned to see the paper figures stand up, almost lifelike. Elizabeth, however, noticed something more: both paper figures emitted wisps of blue smoke that gradually encircled each other and began to merge.
Once the two paper figures had completely intertwined their auras, Zachary formed a hand seal and softly commanded, "Rise!"
At that moment, Enrique suddenly felt dizzy, as if he had formed a connection with Brenda.
At the Divination Association.
Brenda's alternating hot and cold sensations had just subsided. She was drenched in sweat and felt uncomfortable, so she went to the bathroom to take a shower. Halfway through, she suddenly felt dizzy.
The Generational Blessings on her body seemed to be starting to drain. Her expression changed; disregarding everything else, she forced herself to endure the dizziness, dashed out of the bathroom, and fled through the door.
It was a courtyard. She ran towards the room opposite, with a small garden of several dozen feet in between.
She shouted in panic, "Help... help me!"
The building was not only home to Brenda and Gregory. Several of Gregory's fellow apprentices also lived there. Hearing Brenda's cries, they all opened their doors and came out. They saw Brenda, completely naked, running towards Gregory's room. They quickly averted their eyes. How embarrassing!
Gregory also heard Brenda's cries.
When he opened the door and saw her like this, his first reaction was embarrassment. Then he noticed that the Generational Blessings on her body were rapidly draining, and his expression changed. He quickly stepped forward, grabbed her arm, and pulled her into his room.
His fellow apprentices remained silent. Could it be that Gregory actually fancied a woman like Brenda?
Gregory closed the door and threw a robe hanging on the wall to Brenda. "Put this on first. Someone is breaking the Generational Blessings spell between you and Enrique. I need to fight them. Don't disturb me."
