Chapter 68 Are They Treating Him Like a Fool?

Eugene looked even worse.

He raised his head, eyes dark, and said, "I'll say it one last time, I didn't betray Elizabeth. Stop talking nonsense."

He started to panic a bit.

Even Kevin, who saw the stuff online, thought he and Brenda had an affair.

What would Elizabeth think if she saw it?

Brenda quickly grabbed Kevin. "Kevin, don't talk about Eugene like that."

This was all Elizabeth's fault. Why didn't Kevin ask for the reason before scolding Eugene?

For the first time, Kevin shook off Brenda's hand.

There was a hint of disappointment in his eyes. "Brenda, you know he's Elizabeth's boyfriend. Why are you still treating him like this? You're going too far."

He had always pampered Brenda, treating her like family. Elizabeth had caused Brenda a lot of grief, almost driving her to leave the Clark household with their constant clashes. That was why he'd been angry with Elizabeth, shielding Brenda from the torment.

But that didn't mean he didn't care for Elizabeth, his blood sister.

He carried a weight of guilt towards Elizabeth; his mischief had led to her once getting lost when they were young. In his heart, Elizabeth was his true sister, so he believed their rifts would heal in time. Just like the skirmishes he had with his other brothers in the past, they always found common ground swiftly.

They were bonded by blood, the tightest of ties. What grudge couldn't they overcome?

Seeing Brenda go against Elizabeth didn't sit right with him. The unease lingered.

Brenda looked at Kevin in disbelief, her eyes instantly reddened.

She felt extremely wronged. "Kevin, you actually don't believe me. And you're scolding me for Elizabeth."

Normally, Kevin would have comforted her by now.

But the matter between Eugene and Brenda had crossed his line.

He pursed his lips and looked at her. "Brenda, don't forget, Elizabeth is also my sister. When she bullies you and takes your things, I will unconditionally stand by your side. But I can't condone you getting involved with her boyfriend Eugene behind her back. Those rich young masters and celebrities, who can't you choose from? Why do you have to choose Elizabeth's boyfriend?"

He was really angry.

No wonder Elizabeth had treated Eugene and Brenda like that on the live show.

If it had been him, he would have been angry, too!

He couldn't help but think, was Elizabeth being so harsh on him because of this?

Brenda listened to Kevin's questioning, feeling very angry.

This time she didn't pretend, the tears really couldn't be held back and started to fall.

"You actually don't believe me. Are you still my brother?"

She reached out and grabbed Kevin, hitting him a few times with her fist. "I hate you. I don't like you anymore."

Seeing the two of them like this, Eugene's face turned even darker.

"Enough, both of you." He was really annoyed, raising his voice a bit. "In this situation, you're still here flirting."

Kevin and Brenda both looked at him.

Kevin's face showed even more anger. "Who's flirting? She's my sister, don't talk nonsense."

Eugene looked at him mockingly. "What kind of siblings often hug and even kiss? The photos of Brenda and me online aren't real; they were taken from certain angles, but your intimacy with her is real."

He hadn't known before that the Clark siblings interacted like this.

It was only after joining the live show that he realized these two were too close.

Just now in the car, he had seen a video.

The two were hugging and kissing in the yard, caught by the director who suddenly appeared.

At that moment, he had only one thought—thank goodness Elizabeth and the Clark brothers weren't that close, or he'd be really upset.

Of course, mainly because he didn't like the Clark brothers.

But since Brenda wasn't his girlfriend, how close these two siblings were had nothing to do with him.

Now, he just wanted to vent.

Kevin seethed. "It's just sibling stuff. Your mind's in the gutter, so you project that onto others."

Eugene snorted, "I'll return those words to you. Believe it or not, my relationship with Brenda is innocent."

Declining food, Eugene phoned Arthur, requesting a different car arrangement.

He didn't want to see the Clark siblings at all now.

And if they took the same car to the airport and got photographed, his relationship with Brenda would be even harder to explain.

Arthur was taken aback by the sudden request. After learning Lisa's car was nearby, he proposed Eugene take that instead of arranging a new one, since it was already too late.

As long as he didn't have to sit with the Clark siblings, Eugene didn't care and agreed without hesitation.

He stood by the roadside outside the restaurant waiting for the car. Meanwhile, a frosty standoff brewed between Kevin and his sister.

Brenda kept crying, normally Kevin would have hugged and comforted her by now.

But this time, Kevin irritably scratched his head, not comforting Brenda for the first time, and turned to leave the restaurant.

He didn't even acknowledge Eugene standing by the roadside and got into the car with a cold face.

This time, he opened the front passenger seat and sat there instead of in the back.

Seeing Kevin not saying a word and leaving her behind, Brenda felt even more aggrieved and kept crying.

A stronger sense of crisis grew in her heart.

She knew that in Kevin's heart, Elizabeth, his real sister, was very important.

Before, she had used tricks, constantly badmouthing Elizabeth in front of them. She had also relied on them growing up together, with the many years of feelings, to make them stand by her side.

That's why they thought Elizabeth had often bullied her, trying to force her to leave the Clark family.

This was the first time Kevin had stood against her because of Elizabeth.

If she and Eugene were really together, she would accept it.

But they weren't! She couldn't just swallow something like this!

She was clearly the most innocent and wronged victim; why was Kevin blaming her?

And Eugene was also a jerk.

He hadn't even comforted her, just left.

Both of them treated her like this for Elizabeth; it was too much.

Elizabeth, Elizabeth, why couldn't she just be quiet?

At this moment, Brenda's resentment towards Elizabeth grew even more.

Why hadn't Elizabeth died out there? Why did she have to come back and harm her?

She was everywhere.

Brenda thought for a moment, then picked up her phone and called Richard.

Richard also felt annoyed at that moment.

Seeing it was Brenda's call, he suddenly felt a reluctance to answer.

She had actually hidden this from them, getting involved with Eugene, Elizabeth's boyfriend, behind their backs.

He was not only her agent but also her loving brother.

Didn't she trust him?

This was also hard for him to accept.

Before the live show, he had even called Eugene, asking him to take care of her.

Who knew these two had already been secretly seeing each other frequently.

Did they take him for a fool?
