Chapter 371 Just You Wait

Just like Elizabeth figured, halfway through the trip, she felt some seriously bad vibes nearby. Someone had set up an ambush with some dark energy artifacts.

Her eyes went icy. These folks had no shame. To get to her, they didn't care about putting regular people in danger. So, she took a side road to dodge other cars. If any passing cars got hit with that evil energy, best case, there'd be accidents; worst case, people would die. No wonder Wayne always said the Divination Association was full of shady characters.

Elizabeth pulled over at the edge of a forest and got out with her bag. She also grabbed the Rune stones she'd bought earlier and the evil energy seal from Wayne.

Leaning against the car door, she called out, "Alright, come out. Stop hiding."

Right after she spoke, a bunch of people stepped out from the woods. Two more cars had followed her and stopped in front. She counted seven people in total.

Raising an eyebrow, she asked, "You guys aren't all together, are you? Planning to rob me and then split the loot?"

The seven were from four different groups, all eyeing each other suspiciously. One middle-aged guy looked at Elizabeth and said, "That's none of your business. If you know what's good for you, hand over the stuff, and we'll let you live."

He was worried that if they fought Elizabeth, the others would jump in.

The other six nodded. "Yeah."

Elizabeth sneered, "If you want the stuff, you'll have to earn it. Think I'm just gonna hand it over? You're dreaming."

She then snorted, "Come at me all at once. One by one is too much hassle."

These guys were just intermediate diviners, easy pickings for her.

The seven laughed at her. "You're young but pretty cocky. Since you insist, we won't hold back. Everyone, go at her together. Whoever gets the stuff first keeps it."

Without a second thought, they all attacked. Each pulled out their evil energy artifacts, aiming the dark energy at Elizabeth. The seven streams of evil energy merged into one big wave.

Elizabeth stayed calm, channeling the evil energy from the Rune stones. She pointed at the wave. "Break!"

The seven looked stunned. A hurricane of evil energy burst from the Rune stones in her hand, sweeping out and destroying their combined attack.

Elizabeth then formed a seal with her hands. The hurricane of evil energy rushed towards them.

"Run!" The seven panicked and tried to escape, but they couldn't outrun the hurricane. One by one, they were swept up and slammed to the ground, faces full of terror and disbelief.

"How is this possible?"

"How are you so strong?"

Even together, they couldn't beat her.

Elizabeth put away the Rune stones and said coldly, "A bunch of losers, thinking you can steal treasures with such weak skills. Pathetic." She then drove off, leaving the seven behind, their faces dark and still terrified.

Judging by the bad vibes around them, none of them were good people; they'd caused a lot of harm before. After getting hit by that evil energy storm, they'd end up sick for a long time, too weak to mess with anyone else. Karma was a real thing.

Those guys were just the warm-up, easy to handle in one go. Next, Elizabeth ran into more ambushers along the way. Each group was tougher than the last, but she used the same tricks and the Spellscrolls she'd prepped to take them down.

As she got closer to the airport, her car suddenly started spinning in circles. Elizabeth sensed two people nearby. They must've set up this formation after hearing about her earlier actions.

She opened the car door and stepped out. The scene changed instantly. It was like she was in a sea of corpses and blood, with thick evil energy and a blood mist. Even demonic creatures showed up, rushing to bite her.

Elizabeth calmly pulled out some pre-carved gemstones for setting up a formation and tossed them in seven directions. Then she quickly set up a simple formation, using the seal as the core and the Rune stones for support.

As the demonic creatures closed in, she squinted and said, "Eliminate!"

A golden spark appeared, scattering towards the demonic creatures. They were swiftly obliterated by the radiant light, and the area turned back into a normal pathway.

The two who had set up the formation were in shock. They couldn't help but exclaim, "How is this possible?"

These were artifacts given by their teacher, blessed with power. They'd used this formation many times, even trapping top-level diviners. How did Elizabeth break it so quickly? Clearly, her strength was underestimated by those who reported it.

The two quickly regained their composure, exchanged a glance, and each pulled out their evil energy artifacts to attack Elizabeth.

Their teacher had ordered them to get the item from Elizabeth and to seriously injure her; otherwise, they'd face severe consequences when they got back.

Elizabeth used her energy to manipulate the formation, directing the evil energy towards the two. Soon, they found themselves in a sea of corpses.

Affected by the evil energy, they fell into a hallucination, attacking each other in terror. Evil energy seeped into their bodies and artifacts. Soon, their artifacts exploded from the evil energy.

One of them had a hidden artifact, also damaged by the evil energy. A force suddenly emerged from the artifact, attacking Elizabeth. But she was ready, countering with the evil energy from the seal. The artifact, being their creation, backfired when it failed to harm Elizabeth. He quickly withdrew his spell's power.

Elizabeth was also pushed back a few steps, using the evil energy to transmit her voice, "Sneaky person, I'll counter you again. Let's see how long you can hide."

Suddenly, a blurry, angry male voice echoed in her ear, "Just you wait."
