Chapter 85 Smash It in His Face
Elizabeth read Raymond's message, her smile widening.
Elizabeth: [I think so too.]
Raymond laughed. "Knew it, Elizabeth likes it too."
Rex noticed Raymond's goofy grin. "Go for it, man. Who knows who she's into."
He had to admit, he really liked Elizabeth's personality and determination.
The Clark brothers tried to push her out of the entertainment industry to make her give in.
But Elizabeth didn't back down; she fought back hard.
No wonder Raymond, who usually avoids girls and was super picky, was interested in her.
Raymond kept texting.
Raymond: [Got anyone in mind?]
Raymond: [If you do, just tell me. As long as it's not a top artist from Clark Entertainment, I'll help you poach them.]
He'd throw money and resources to get them for Elizabeth, as long as they weren't top-tier.
Elizabeth felt warm inside. Raymond might seem harsh, but he was great to his friends.
Elizabeth: [I've picked three people; none are important to Clark Entertainment, so you don't need to step in this time.]
She added: [Otherwise, it would be overkill.]
Raymond read the message and turned to Rex with a smug look.
"Ah, the Elizabeth I like is so amazing. I don't even get a chance to show off."
Rex said, "Enough already, or I might lose my appetite tonight."
Raymond glanced at him. "You wouldn't understand, being single."
Rex thought, 'As if you're not still single.'
But with a guy so in love, there was no reasoning.
After showing off, Raymond replied.
Raymond: [Elizabeth, you never disappoint.]
Raymond: [If you need any help, let me know.]
Rex said, "Tsk tsk, our Raymond actually begging to help. Do your family know this side of you?"
If they knew, they'd be shocked.
Raymond snorted, "Do you think my family is as short-sighted as the Baker family?"
He confidently said, "As long as I like her, my family will too."
Rex paused. That was true.
Raymond was like a little prince at home.
Elizabeth: [If I need help, I won't hesitate to ask you.]
Raymond: [Good, I'll be waiting. When you're free, let's have a meal with the four of us!]
Elizabeth: [Sure, no problem!]
Raymond: [See you next time, good night!]
Elizabeth: [See you next time, good night!]
Rex raised an eyebrow. "That's it? You guys aren't going to chat more?"
Raymond reluctantly put down his phone. "You don't understand."
He knew Elizabeth didn't have romantic feelings for him yet.
She was focused on her career.
And having just broken up, she probably wouldn't jump into a new relationship right away.
So he decided to stay by her side as a friend.
Raymond stood up and joked, "Alright, I'm done here. If it weren't for Elizabeth, who'd waste time with an old man like you?"
Rex threw the contract in his hand. "Get lost!"
Raymond brushed it aside. "This contract's useless now. You keep it."
Then, he quickly slipped away.
Meanwhile, after chatting with Raymond, Elizabeth curiously opened the contract.
After reading it, she sighed. "Richard told me his contract was the best any company could offer, preferential treatments, blah blah blah. I really want to throw this in his face.
She knew what the best contract from Clark Entertainment looked like.
And the one Raymond sent her not only had similar benefits but also offered much more freedom.
It meant Starlight Entertainment's contract was better than Richard's.
Rebecca looked over. "If it were me, I would do the same."
Elizabeth asked, "Should I throw it?"
Rebecca nodded. "Throw it, humiliate him."
Elizabeth thought it would be satisfying. "Let me ask Raymond if I can send it to humiliate Richard. If he's okay with it, I'll throw it. Let Richard think I might go to Starlight Entertainment. He wouldn't expect I'm starting my own studio and poaching their people."
Otherwise, he'd definitely try to sabotage her.
Rebecca said, "That works."
So Elizabeth messaged Raymond, explaining the situation.
Raymond was all for it. He was eager for Elizabeth to use him to humiliate others.
He told her to go ahead and humiliate Richard, and he'd handle any fallout.
Richard wouldn't dare openly cause trouble for him and Rex.
Although Raymond agreed, Elizabeth suddenly remembered a problem. "I deleted Richard's contact before."
Rebecca said, "I have it."
Elizabeth grinned mischievously. "Then I'll add him again, humiliate him, and delete him. He'll be even angrier."
Rebecca's eyes lit up. "That's good, I like it!"
Then she sent Richard's WhatsApp contact to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth added him as a friend.
At that moment, Richard and Loren were discussing something in the study.
Hearing the phone notification, Richard opened it and was initially surprised.
Then he smirked, "She talked so tough before, but I didn't expect her to come crawling back so soon. I knew she couldn't hold out for long."
Loren looked up from his documents. "Who is it?"
Richard said meaningfully, "Our tough little sister, Elizabeth."
Loren had heard Richard talk about how Elizabeth had tricked and angered him before.
He thought for a moment and said, "Since she's willing to back down, don't be too harsh on her. She's our sister; don't go too far."
He had gotten used to her being around these past few days.
He missed her caring reminder texts and the food she made.
He added, "If you drive her away again, Mom and Dad won't forgive you this time."
Richard sneered, "I wouldn't dare anger her again. It's enough if she doesn't anger me."
Thinking about the past, he got angry.
Since she was the first to back down, he would regain his dignity.
If she didn't say something to show she was backing down, he wouldn't give her that contract.
