Chapter 125 If We're Going to Hurt Each Other, Let's Do It Together!

Brenda noticed Richard wouldn't even look at her after he finished talking. She was fuming inside. Richard was getting out of hand, treating her like this in front of Paul. She sat back down, feeling wronged, gripping her bracelet tightly, and thinking about how to win him back.

Richard's chest and stomach pain were getting worse. He looked at Paul. "Dad, this Alfonso guy seems unreliable! My pain doubled after he checked us."

Paul saw Richard's pale face and the sweat on his forehead, feeling a bit sorry for him. But this could teach Richard a lesson. He sighed, "Just hang in there until he comes back. If it doesn't get better, we'll find Elizabeth."

Richard felt like banging his head against the wall. He grabbed Arnold's hand and squeezed it hard, venting his pain. Arnold was stunned at first, then screamed, "Ah, Richard, take it easy."

Richard didn't let up, almost dislocating Arnold's hand. Arnold tried to shake him off but couldn't. He shouted to Paul, "Dad, control Richard, he's trying to kill me."

Paul gave him a cold look. "Isn't this what you wanted earlier? Richard's just obliging you."

Paul had never demanded much from Arnold and Enrique, but they couldn't be so foolish as to not know who was important.

Arnold fell silent, thinking Paul was biased. He was angry but didn't dare act out in front of Paul, so he endured Richard's torment.

Angela couldn't take it anymore and asked Hubert for the pendant, but Hubert pretended to be asleep. Embarrassed, Angela apologized to Paul and ran out in tears, asking the secretary for ice for her face.

After Angela left, Richard looked at Hubert. "Hubert, I didn't expect you to be so ruthless! You made Angela cry and run away."

Hubert finally opened his eyes and said indifferently, "What does she have to do with me?" He glanced at Brenda, who was still teary-eyed. "Isn't your Brenda also crying because of you? Aren't you going to comfort her?"

Hubert's words made Richard and Brenda's faces change. They looked at Paul, whose face had become more unpleasant. Richard let go of Arnold and pulled Hubert up. "Let's go to the restroom."

Hubert didn't resist and told Paul before they left. But they went to a small, empty balcony instead. Once there, Richard, looking stern, said, "What did you mean just now? Did you say that on purpose for my dad to hear?"

Hubert saw his pained expression and handed over the pendant. "Relieve yourself first."

Richard was stunned but took it, feeling the pain ease. Hubert said, "So you know your relationship is fundamentally abnormal?"

Richard frowned. "But you didn't have to mention it in front of my dad."

The brothers had been scolded by Paul before for being too close to Brenda.

Hubert thought for a moment and decided to speak up. "Brenda's not simple. If you wake up, stay away from her, or you'll get into trouble. I'm also warning Paul. Your brothers still seem infatuated."

They'd been friends since childhood, and he didn't want the Clark family ruined by Brenda.

Richard rubbed his temples. "Don't mention those two idiots."

Hubert raised an eyebrow. "Weren't you one of the idiots before?"

Richard fell silent, glaring at Hubert. "Can you speak properly? I spoiled Brenda, but I wasn't as bad as those two fools."

Brenda was an adopted sister, usually obedient and well-behaved. They had spoiled her like a beloved pet. When the pet was bullied, he, as the owner, he would help. Now that Brenda was disobedient, he backed off quickly.

Hubert winced in pain. "Elizabeth really hits hard!"

Richard held the pendant, feeling helpless. "Exactly, she's got quite a temper now. You deserve it, messing with her best friend."

Hubert sneered, "I didn't mess with Rebecca, but you were harsh with Elizabeth. No wonder you two are siblings."

Richard didn't want to talk about it. If he had known it would turn out like this, he wouldn't have dealt with Elizabeth for Brenda.

He changed the subject. "That Angela by your side, isn't she just for fun?"

Hubert retorted, "Do you think I'm as stupid as you brothers?"

Richard fell silent. Hubert's mouth was really annoying.

He sneered, "Then why did you argue with Rebecca for her?"

Hubert said helplessly, "I don't dislike Rebecca. Angela is just useful."

Richard teased, "In bed?"

Hubert's face darkened. "Get lost, I have better taste than that."

Richard curiously asked, "Then what's she for?"

Hubert gave him a look. "Knowing too much isn't good for you."

He took out a cigarette, handed one to Richard, and lit one for himself. Richard lit his cigarette, seeing Hubert's gloomy expression behind the smoke, with a hint of ferocity he had never seen before. He didn't ask further.

They smoked several cigarettes before returning to the office. Before entering, Richard handed the pendant back to Hubert.

When they returned, Angela was already back. She looked at Hubert with resentment and hurt, but Hubert didn't look at her.

After sitting for a while, Alfonso came in with an old man in gray clothes. He introduced him to Paul and the others. "This is my friend, Dominic Day."

Paul and the others greeted Dominic. Dominic nodded and took out a crystal ball. "You four, place your hands on this crystal ball one by one."

Richard was the first to place his hand on the crystal ball, which moved slightly. The other three did the same. Then Dominic carefully examined them.

"It seems you were affected by an evil aura when you were injured. The aura quickly disappeared, causing pain but leaving no trace."

Paul asked, "Mr. Day, did you find the evil aura?"

Dominic shook his head. "No, I'm judging based on experience. The one who cast it is a skilled diviner, leaving no evidence but causing immense pain."

Richard asked, "Can Mr. Day help resolve it?" He wasn't interested in anything else, just wanted the pain to stop.
