Chapter 72 You Win!

Eugene got hit for the first time by his younger sister, Rebecca.

Initially stunned, Eugene eventually gathered himself and seized her wrist. "Seriously, Rebecca? What's gotten into you?"

Rebecca, thwarted in her attempts to land more hits, sulked. "I was just getting started!"

An awkward silence settled as onlookers struggled to conceal their laughter.

Eugene's expression grew stern. "Rebecca, cut it out. This isn't a joke."

He added, "And remember, she's your mom too."

With so many people around, if word got out, their parents would definitely have an issue with Rebecca.

Rebecca rolled her eyes. "She's Percy Baker's real mom; what does that have to do with me? Only you would be dumb enough to get involved."

The more she spoke, the darker Eugene's face got. "Shut up."

He pulled Rebecca closer and whispered, "Watch what you say in public."

Rebecca pouted. "I don't care, what are you afraid of? If you want to keep begging for her favor, don't drag me into it. I'm not playing along."

Eugene was at a loss with Rebecca. "Come home with me later."

Rebecca shook her head wildly. "No, I'm going to Elizabeth's house."

Eugene forcefully said, "No way."

Then he held onto her wrist. "You must come home with me."

Rebecca had been abroad for so long and hadn't come back even once.

During the holidays, the elders at home had mentioned it with a tone of reproach.

He had made excuses for her.

Now, if it became known that Rebecca had returned but had not gone home, those people would have more to say.

Rebecca struggled to shake off his hand. "I said I'm not going back."

She couldn't shake him off and glared at Eugene, saying, "Let go of me, or I'll scream."

Eugene sneered, "Suit yourself."

The next second, his face first showed surprise, then turned even darker.

Because Rebecca suddenly shouted, "Help! A celebrity is harassing a woman at the airport!"

At that moment, Eugene felt not only embarrassed but also wanted to sew Rebecca's mouth shut.

Rebecca didn't care about Eugene's dark expression and proudly lifted her chin. "If you don't let go of me, I'll keep shouting."

Eugene had no choice but to let her go, gritting his teeth. "You win!"

"That's right, dealing with a bad man like you who bullies my Elizabeth, I can't use normal methods."

After saying that, Rebecca took advantage of Eugene's distraction and stomped on his foot with her high heel before running towards Elizabeth.

Eugene's face twisted in pain.

Watching Rebecca run away, Eugene felt both angry and deeply helpless.

Rebecca had been rebellious since she was a child, and no one could control her.

Sometimes, she even led Elizabeth astray, doing unexpected things.

He endured the pain and shouted after her, "Rebecca, you can't run forever. You still have to come home."

Rebecca linked arms with Elizabeth, raised her hand without turning back, and waved. "Goodbye!"

Eugene's face darkened even more in anger.

Elizabeth wasn't surprised by Rebecca's actions; Rebecca's personality was always fiery.

She said, "Ignore him, let's go."

Rebecca pulled her suitcase. "Alright, let's go home!"

The two walked ahead, chatting and laughing.

It was clear they had a good relationship.

Eugene stood there for a moment before limping forward.

The scene just now had not only been secretly recorded by passersby but also photographed by a reporter.

After leaving the airport, Elizabeth let Rebecca get into the program's car and left.

Back at the apartment, Elizabeth checked her phone.

"Eugene Baker Accused of Cheating, Confronted by Brave Sister in Violent Encounter" and "Eugene's heartfelt performance" were the top headlines.

She clicked on the first one.

Rebecca's scolding and beating of Eugene had been fully recorded, including her comments about their stepmother, Amy King.

People in the comments were cheering Rebecca on, calling her cool.

There were also confirmations of Eugene's cheating, as Rebecca's actions seemed to prove it.

Elizabeth showed the phone to Rebecca. "You're on the headlines. Your family might come after you for what you said."

Elizabeth, being close to Eugene and Rebecca, knew the Baker family's situation well.

Currently, the head of the Baker family was Eugene's father, Orlando Baker, the third son in his generation.

Orlando had two older brothers.

He had defeated his two brothers to take over the Baker company.

So although the member of the family seemed to get along on the surface, there was resentment underneath.

Unable to deal with Orlando, they would target Rebecca to cause trouble.

Rebecca had once made headlines for street racing with a group of rich kids.

When the other Bakers found out, they had made snide remarks in front of Orlando and Amy.

Amy had Orlando send people to bring Rebecca back and lock her up for several days.

This time, Rebecca had directly brought up Amy in public, making it even more serious.

Rebecca glanced at the phone and sprawled on the sofa, "Let them be."

She pouted. "At most, they'll just lock me up for a few days and starve me a bit. They never come up with anything new."

Elizabeth said, "Don't worry, you'll be with me from now on. I won't let them take you away again."

Rebecca smiled. "Alright, I'll stick with you then."

Then she looked seriously at Elizabeth and asked, "Elizabeth, did you really break up with Eugene? Is what they're saying online true?"

Elizabeth replied, "Yes, I really broke up with him. Most of what's online is true. Eugene explained that he was nice to Brenda because of the elders. But he had to be willing. He chose to hide it from me and met with Brenda multiple times in private. Between Brenda and me, he always took Brenda's side. So I think such a man isn't worth it, so I broke up with him."

Rebecca knew that Elizabeth had deep feelings for Eugene.

For her to decisively break up, Eugene must have done something really bad.

"Alright, since you chose to break up, I support you. From the moment he chose someone else and wronged you, he wasn't worth your love anymore," Rebecca said.

Although Eugene was her brother, she stood on the side of reason.

Elizabeth's eyes were warm. "I knew you'd still be on my side."

Rebecca pinched Elizabeth's cheek. "Of course."

She said honestly, "If Eugene hadn't been so bad, I might have tried to persuade you and help you reconcile. But he did so many disgusting things, I just want to say, you did great!"

Elizabeth laughed. "You were pretty cool today too."

Rebecca said proudly, "Of course, he cheated, so he deserved to be beaten."

Elizabeth asked, "How long are you planning to stay this time?"

Rebecca replied, "This time, I'm not leaving."

Elizabeth was stunned and looked at her. "Is Hubert coming back?"

Rebecca's eyes darkened. "No, he probably won't be back for a while."
