Chapter 225 Do You Need to Do It?

Elizabeth and Rebecca hit play on the video. After watching it, Elizabeth just shrugged.

"Typical Brenda," she said. "Always gotta be the center of attention. She treats the Clark brothers like her personal toys."

Yet, if this video hit the internet, it would blow up.

Richard messing with Enrique was wild. Maybe after his last video with Brenda went viral, he felt lonely and wanted Enrique to get a taste of the chaos.

Rebecca shook her head. "Brenda's something else. That innocent act is pretty convincing. But this time, Betty's gonna lose it."

In the video, Betty actually grabbed a mop and went to town on them. Rebecca had never seen her so unhinged.

Elizabeth chimed in, "When she fainted and ended up in the hospital, I figured she was pissed. But I didn't think it was because of this. Brenda and Enrique really crossed the line. Mrs. Clark is all about reputation and manners. Catching those two in bed? No wonder she flipped out."

But for Betty, this was just the tip of the iceberg. Elizabeth had a big surprise from Brenda lined up for her. She just hoped Betty could handle it when the time came.

Betty might seem fragile, but she was tough when it came to serious stuff. She wouldn't just keel over from anger.

Returning to the Clark family fold, Elizabeth had bestowed much upon Betty, yet she had also suffered the deepest wounds from her. Paul, however, maintained a safe distance, refraining from inflicting harm upon her.

Despite Paul's aloofness, Elizabeth harbored resentment towards the others and sought retribution. She maintained a distant demeanor towards Paul, as he hadn't exactly been kind to her either.

While Richard, Arnold, and Kevin had faced her wrath, Betty, Loren, and Enrique remained on her list. Up next: Enrique.

Rebecca found it ironic and snorted, "Brenda was her little project. She got mad because of Brenda. Serves her right."

Elizabeth laughed. "Exactly, and there's more where that came from."

Meanwhile, Hubert and Eugene also watched the video. Afterwards, they gave Richard a look.

Hubert smirked, "Enrique's got more guts than you."

Richard sneered, "Brenda's got him wrapped around her finger."

Hubert raised an eyebrow. "Didn't you say if Brenda came onto you, you wouldn't say no? Still feel that way?"

Richard shivered. "I used to think if she was bold, I'd play along. But now? No way, it's too risky."

Rubbing his arms, he added, "So freaked out!"

Hubert laughed. "Come on, is it really that bad?"

Richard shot back, "If you're not scared, go for it!"

Hubert shook his head. "Nah, I love Rebecca. Not interested."

He turned to Eugene. "Hey Eugene, maybe you should give it a shot. Brenda probably still has a thing for you."

Eugene snapped, "Get lost." He'd been keeping his distance from Brenda and wanted to stay far away.

The three of them didn't stick around to drink more. They each grabbed a cab home.

In the days that followed, Elizabeth was swamped with work at the studio. That original song Gilbert sang at a bar overseas was a hit. But the live stream quality was trash.

With the potential for the song to become a real hit, Elizabeth hit up the top recording studio in Clifftonshireburg and got Gilbert in there to lay down the track.

Emily and Elbert had already joined the crew, and she swung by to check on them. She was also gearing up to play the third female lead in Daniel's drama.

Betty had come back home with her three sons and Brenda in tow.

Paul had just gotten back from a business trip abroad and was the first to arrive home.

Seeing Betty still looking pale, Paul asked, "How you holding up? Need more rest?"

Betty shook her head. "I'm good. No more rest for me," she replied. She needed to keep an eye on her sons and Brenda, after all.

This time, she was determined to hire someone to teach Brenda some manners and see if she could fix her bad habits.

Paul didn't push it and said gently, "Alright, just take it easy and don't get worked up." Then he turned his icy gaze to Enrique and Brenda.

Brenda tried to look all pitiful and helpless, hoping Paul wouldn't come down hard on her.

Enrique shrank back under Paul's stare, itching to bolt.

"You guys chat. I'll take Brenda upstairs to rest," he said, moving to push Brenda's wheelchair.

Paul's face darkened. "Do you think Brenda needs a hand getting upstairs? We have our assistants here. Do you really need to do this task? It's not just about what happened earlier, but also about your mom. What do you think is a fair consequence for your actions?" he snapped.

Arnold and Kevin, standing next to Enrique, didn't waste a second skedaddling away from him, clearly not wanting to get caught in the crossfire. After all, they'd learned their lesson when Betty unleashed her wrath on them. Who's to say Paul wouldn't do the same?

Enrique almost laughed out of sheer frustration at their cowardice. Those two were always the first to bail at the slightest hint of trouble.

He didn't think he was wrong, but he muttered, "I know I was wrong, I won't do it again."

Paul, however, wasn't buying it for a second. He shot Enrique a cold glare. "Do you think I believe that crap? Go kneel outside. You can get up at dawn."

Enrique looked at Paul in disbelief. "Dad, all night? What about my legs?"

Paul said meaningfully, "Isn't this perfect? You get to accompany Brenda in her wheelchair."

Richard was also home at this time, he added with a smile, "Yeah, Enrique, you like Brenda so much. Sitting in a wheelchair with her would be great."

Enrique glared at Richard. "You're the worst."

Richard was indeed the worst of their brothers, still messing with him now.

Richard, unfazed, chuckled, "Just looking out for you, bro. How else are you going to be with Brenda?"

He smirked and glanced at Brenda. "Right, Brenda? You want Enrique with you, don’t you?"

Brenda, taken aback, glanced at Richard as if he were being overly aggressive. She hadn't done anything to upset him. "Richard's just teasing," she said hastily. "I can manage without Enrique."

Turning to Paul, she said earnestly, "Dad, it was my fault before. Don't punish Enrique, punish me instead."

Now, only Enrique was the best and most loyal to her; she couldn't let him go.

And she didn't believe Paul would make her, with her broken leg, kneel outside all night.
