Chapter 407 Elizabeth Is a Big Trouble
After Dashiell got hit with backlash, he grabbed his phone and dialed a number. As soon as it connected, he jumped in, "I told you to keep an eye on the Blackwood Family. Any updates?"
A respectful voice came through, "Mr. Lockhart, Cassius went to the cemetery with someone today. I didn't follow too closely, didn't want to get caught."
Dashiell's eyes flared with anger. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
The other guy sounded frustrated, "I called you like a dozen times, but none of them went through."
Dashiell suddenly remembered. Last night, he had a breakthrough and put his phone on Do Not Disturb. He hadn't checked his missed calls either. He pressed on, "Who did he go with? Was there a divination master?"
The voice replied, "There were three men and one woman. I know the woman; she's that popular actress."
Dashiell instantly knew who it was. "Elizabeth?"
"Yes, it's Elizabeth."
Dashiell was so mad he almost lost it. "Alright, keep following them. If Elizabeth heads to the Blackwood Family, see if she comes out with a wooden box or anything like that." He figured Elizabeth was probably after the Heritage Cauldron too.
The voice assured him, "Mr. Lockhart, don't worry, I'll keep an eye on them."
After hanging up, Dashiell thought for a moment and decided to call Ethan. With Elizabeth involved, getting the Heritage Cauldron wouldn't be easy. They might have to use force.
But the Blackwood Family had done so many good deeds, and with the Heritage Cauldron's protection, trying to rob it or set up a divination array would backfire. They'd face Celestial Condemnation. So, the only way was to make the Blackwood Family willingly hand over the Heritage Cauldron.
The call connected quickly. Dashiell filled Ethan in. Ethan's face darkened with anger. "Elizabeth, her again. Why is she everywhere?"
His plans kept getting messed up by Elizabeth, and his Generational Blessings and lifespan were constantly taking hits. If he didn't get new Generational Blessings to convert into lifespan, he wouldn't have many years left.
Elizabeth was increasingly becoming a major threat. Ethan thought, "Elizabeth is a significant problem. "Elizabeth was becoming a major threat. Ethan thought, 'Elizabeth is a big problem.'
Ethan ordered, "Find a way to provoke Mrs. Baker and get her to send that evil wizard to go to Clifftonshireburg and deal with Elizabeth. With her near-advanced divination skills, she should be able to handle him. Then, the master evil wizard behind him will be forced to come out and confront her."
He couldn't take direct action too often, or he'd face Celestial Condemnation. And his people were useless, so he had to rely on other forces.
Dashiell respectfully said, "Got it."
Meanwhile, Elizabeth broke the curse and burned the voodoo doll and small wooden coffin together. Once they were ashes, the dark cloud over Cassius's heart lifted. He asked Elizabeth, "Ms. Clark, now that this is dealt with, will my family be safe?"
Elizabeth replied, "There won't be any more deaths, but you'll still have a streak of bad luck. Sickness will keep coming around, and your career and other aspects will take a hit too."
Cassius's face fell. "Is there any way to fix it?"
Elizabeth stayed calm, "The magnetic field of this grave is messed up, so it'll keep affecting future generations. The fix is simple: move the grave. Set up a stone tablet here, and I'll draw a Spellscroll on it to suppress the old curse's influence."
Cassius sighed in relief, "Alright, I'll do what you say." He realized Elizabeth's skills in divination and curses were even more impressive than the rumors. So he asked, "Can you help pick a new grave site for my grandfather?"
Elizabeth nodded, "Sure!" She walked around with a crystal ball and stopped at an open space. "This spot is better than your grandfather's old grave. You can move it here. Do it at 1 PM tomorrow."
Cassius wanted to move the grave quickly to reduce his family's troubles and illnesses. "Alright, I'll arrange for someone to move the grave tomorrow after we go down the mountain. Ms. Clark, can you stay until the grave is moved and then return to Clifftonshireburg? We don't want to mess this up."
Elizabeth smiled, "Even if you didn't ask, I would stay."
Cassius sighed in relief again, his face full of gratitude. "Thank you so much."
The group went down the mountain. Cassius arranged for Elizabeth and Quentin to stay at the best hotel in town. He and his assistant ordered the stone tablet and hired people to move the grave. Because the payment was good and the stone tablet didn't need any carvings or inscriptions, just specific dimensions, it was done that day.
The next morning, the stone tablet was delivered to the mountain. After breakfast, Elizabeth and the villagers hired to help move the grave went up the mountain.
Under Elizabeth's guidance, they first moved Cassius's grandfather's coffin out. Elizabeth scattered the ashes from burning the small coffin yesterday in a specific spot. Then she had the villagers place the stone tablet on top.
After the stone tablet was buried as required, she used a Spellscroll pen dipped in top-grade gold powder to draw a suppressing Spellscroll on the stone tablet with energy.
This not only neutralized the old curse's influence but also prevented other divination masters from messing with the Blackwood Family's grave. As soon as the final stroke of the Spellscroll was completed, everyone felt like the entire stone tablet was emitting a halo.
Meanwhile, back at the villa, Dashiell was bleeding all over and fell to the ground convulsing. It took a while for him to get back to normal.
He felt like he had an extra shackle, and any attempt to practice or use spells would fail midway. He didn't understand why this was happening, but he couldn't help but think of Elizabeth.
It must have been something Elizabeth did that made it impossible for him to be a divination master anymore. How could she be so hateful?
But no matter how much Dashiell resented Elizabeth, he knew she was stronger than him. If he wanted revenge, but he had no hope on his own. So he urgently contacted Amy in his capacity as Ethan's student. He urged Amy to keep dealing with Elizabeth; she couldn't be left alone.
