Chapter 278 Rules in in Aevum City

Raymond felt a wave of comfort wash over him, especially when Elizabeth gave his head a little pat. Ignoring the annoyed looks from Kevin and Eugene, who had already joined Elizabeth's side, he turned back with a big grin. "Alright!" he said.

Though he wasn't thrilled about it, he made his way over to his group. Brenda, fuming at the sight of Raymond getting all cozy with Elizabeth, cursed under her breath but was dead set on making the most of having Raymond on her team.

The viewers in the livestream caught all the action.

[Oh man, Elizabeth is so sweet to Raymond!]

[I wanna get head pats from Elizabeth too!]

[They are adorable together!]

[Elizabeth totally spoils Raymond.]

[I used to want Elizabeth to shine solo, but now I think she and Raymond are a perfect match.]

[Yeah, Eugene's good-looking but always has that icy stare. Raymond's better; he can protect and sweet-talk Elizabeth.]

[Raymond's also super handsome, just like Eugene. And Elizabeth's vibe fits better with Raymond.]

[When Raymond's protecting Elizabeth, he's all alpha, and when she's spoiling him, he's like a puppy. They switch it up so well.]

[I wanna see them get hitched right now.]

[Too bad Raymond's got bad luck this time, being split from Elizabeth.]

[Even if they're apart, I bet Raymond will find a way to see Elizabeth.]

[Elizabeth will keep looking out for Raymond, which is just too cute.]

[Can't wait to see what happens next!]

[LOL, seeing Raymond's face go dark when he switched to Brenda's group, I couldn't stop laughing.]

[Arthur's so mean, making these groups; both are a mess.]

[Of course, Raymond doesn't get along with the Clark siblings, and Elizabeth's with Eugene and Kevin. This episode's gonna be wild.]

[Poor Raymond, when he's down, Eugene and Kevin are all smiles.]

[I just realized none of the folks who wanted to be in Elizabeth's group got their wish.]

[This wheel grouping is brutal; they all wanna cry.]

[Elizabeth might not be able to help you guys this episode.]

The comments kept rolling in, making the livestream lively and fun. Elizabeth turned to Arthur with a practical question. "We got the group with the mystery guest. Do we go find them, or does the show set it up?"

Arthur handed her a task card. "You'll use this task card to find them. Follow the instructions, and if they agree, you form a team."

Elizabeth opened it and read out the instructions, narrating for the audience. They had to navigate through Aevum City, head to a specific shop, and invite the first person they met, excluding the shopkeeper. If the person said no, they'd ask the next one, and so on. Everyone listened closely, realizing how much luck this task involved.

Kevin shook his head. "This is all about luck." Right on cue, the viewers echoed his thoughts, curious about their mystery guest.

Raymond asked, "Arthur, after we get into Aevum City, do we still have to work to earn money for food and a place to stay?"

Arthur nodded. "Yep, same old rules. But remember, no modern tricks to make money; Aevum City's got that old-school vibe."

The group collectively groaned, realizing they had to brush up on some ancient skills. Brenda felt a surge of confidence, knowing her classical dance and harp skills might come in handy.

Arthur tried to cheer them up with a smile. "I believe in you guys. And to make it a bit easier, we'll give each of you a hundred bucks as startup money. Once you get into Aevum City, you can grab lunch first and then figure out how to earn more."

Seraphim Heights was huge, and they were still outside its gates. Outside, there were cars and other modern transportation, but those would be history once they stepped inside.

Arthur added, "Oh, and we'll cover the entrance fee. Pretty generous, right?"

Since Aevum City spent a lot on upkeep, visitors had to pay an entrance fee. Each person shelled out ninety-nine bucks and got an entry token with the date engraved on it. It was good for three days, allowing multiple entries without extra charges.

Everyone thought the same thing, 'If we can't use our own money and the show doesn't pay the entrance fee, how are we supposed to get in? And how's the show supposed to go on? Arthur's got some nerve saying that.'

After reluctantly handing over their phones, the guests received period-themed clothing from a store just outside Aevum City.

"These outfits are a gift from the show," Arthur chimed in. "But for the next week, if you want to change clothes, you'll have to earn money to buy them in Aevum City."

Kevin frowned. "So we can't wear our own clothes in the city?"

Arthur kept his friendly smile. "Correct. Modern clothes aren't allowed inside. It's all part of the experience."

Kevin was speechless. He had dragged along a huge suitcase full of clothes, now totally useless. "Did you guys bring a week's worth of clothes?" he asked, noticing that except for him, Enrique, Brenda, and Eugene, the other guests' suitcases were smaller.

Raymond looked at him proudly. "We only brought clothes for today and the last day. Elizabeth reminded us earlier that we can't wear modern clothes in Aevum City. Things like watches aren't allowed either. Credit cards won't work; you gotta use cash. Didn't you guys know?"

Kevin awkwardly smiled. "We really didn't know."

Then he looked at Elizabeth and remarked, "You're awesome, you know everything." He said this to show goodwill to Elizabeth and genuinely praised her.

Elizabeth glanced at him and said, "I've been here before. And the show notified us a week ago that this episode would be in Seraphim Heights. Didn't you check the info in advance?"

In her past life, she had been to Seraphim Heights with Wayne. But in the past week, she still spent a lot of time studying the map of Aevum City and some related videos and news.

This question stumped Kevin. He touched his nose and honestly said, "We really didn't."

Raymond pouted. "You're lucky this episode, following Elizabeth, or you'd be doomed."

Then he proudly declared, "Unlike us, we all listened to Elizabeth and checked the map and intro of Aevum City in advance."

Nancy chimed in, "Yeah, Elizabeth shared the info and videos she found with us."

Kevin fell silent. This time, he wisely kept his mouth shut.
